Chapter 6 I Hate Yora

Jacob trembled when he met Eartha's gaze.

"Mom, why are you looking at me?" Jacob was a bit scared, but he didn't stop eating.

Eartha took a deep breath and asked, "How many times have you eaten chips this week?"

"What?" Jacob was taken aback.

Before he could react, Eartha snatched the plate from his hand and said, "I've seen it for the third time. Have you forgotten the rules?"

Jacob blinked his eyes and thought for a while before recalling the rules.

Eartha said he couldn't eat chips more than three times a week.

Jacob calculated seriously with his fingers.

"I ate chips on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Today is Friday..." Jacob's face instantly became ugly.

Eartha said, "It's been three times already, so you can't eat today."

Jacob licked his lips, pondering countermeasures.

"Mom." Jacob came to Eartha, smiling obsequiously. His chubby body twisted and coquettishly like a caterpillar.

“Mom, there aren't many left on the plate. Let me finish them. I promise to follow the rules next week.”

Eartha rolled her eyes at Jacob and ignored him.

"Mom..."

"Stay away from me," Eartha was a little angry, but Jacob thought he was cute and kept rubbing against Eartha’s body.

Eartha covered her eyes and didn’t want to look at Jacob at all.

“Mom, I will abide by the rules next week. I can write you a guarantee letter.”

Jacob could agree to any conditions to eat chips today.

But Eartha ignored him. She knew her son well. Next week, he would break his words.

Eartha decided to correct Jacob’s bad habit of speaking recklessly.

"Stop talking," Eartha said as she walked to Yolanda with the plate. She bent down and smiled, "Yora, eat some chips first."

Yolanda took the plate and glanced at Jacob standing beside her, not daring to eat.

“Don't look at him. I won't let him eat.”

Eartha handed a chip to Yolanda, and Yolanda obediently ate it in small bites.

Jacob was stunned. How could Yolanda eat his chips?

"Grandpa, Grandma, the chips are mine." Jacob ran to Vincent and Ruth to complain, "Mom gave them to Yolanda without my consent. I'm hungry!"

Vincent was watching Yolanda eating with joy, but Jacob’s words ruined his mood.

He looked at Jacob with disdain. "You've eaten three times this week. Keep your word."

Hearing Vincent’s words, Jacob widened his eyes, thinking, “Grandpa let me eat chips yesterday, but why does he change today?”

“Grandma...” Jacob thought Vincent would listen to Ruth, and Ruth would help him get his chips back.

However, Ruth disappointed him.

With a disdainful expression, Ruth looked at Jacob and said, "Eartha and Vincent are right. You have to keep your word. Yora is so thin, and she should eat more."

Jacob was stunned.

When he was about to cry, Brad patted his shoulder and said, "Accept the reality. Yora is the youngest kid now, and she'll be the favorite one from now on."

Brad pointed to Yolanda. "Think about how we treated you before, and you have to treat her like that in the future."

Jacob was happy yesterday, saying he was finally not the youngest and could become an elder brother.

However, today, he regretted it.

Jacob felt unhappy in his heart. He pressed his lips and widened his eyes to prevent tears from falling.

As he watched Yolanda, who was eating his chips and surrounded by his grandparents and his parents, he suddenly felt that no one loved him anymore, and he was the kid who was abandoned.

Jacob was so angry that he ran upstairs. When he turned around, his tears flew out.

He returned to his room and slammed the door, lying in bed and crying sadly.

When he realized that no one came to see him, he was sadder.

“They have Yolanda, so they don't love me anymore. I am so pitiful. I hate Yolanda. Why did she come back?”

Jacob took out his phone from his pocket and opened WhatsApp.

His family didn't care about him, but he had a group of friends.

Jacob cried while sending messages in the group chat, complaining about Yolanda.

He said that after Yolanda came back, his family didn't love him anymore. Yolanda snatched his food away, and he hated her very much.

His messages immediately received the attention of his friends.

As Jacob watched his friends speak ill of Yolanda in the group chat, he stopped crying, feeling better in his heart.

Seeing Jacob run upstairs, Yolanda was a little worried, but Vincent, Ruth, and Eartha all told her not to worry, so she decided to find a chance to talk to Jacob later.

Eartha brought the last dish to the table and looked at Vincent. "We can start eating now."

Vincent nodded and picked up the wine cup in front of him.

Ruth knew Vincent was happy that Yolanda had come back, so she didn’t stop him from drinking wine.

"Yora is the granddaughter of our family, and it's a good thing for her to come home." Vincent looked at the boys sitting at the end of the table and said, "Yora is your sister, and you must take good care of her. If you bully her..."

Brad interrupted Vincent, "Grandpa, we are gentlemen, and we won’t bully girls. You can rest assured."

Vincent rolled his eyes at Brad.

Bruce said, "Grandpa, rest assured. We will take good care of Yora."

After speaking, he smiled at Yolanda. Yolanda was taken aback and then also showed a sweet smile.

"Okay," Vincent said.

Seeing Vincent still want to speak more, Ruth stopped him and said, "The kids are hungry. Let's finish our meal first."

Vincent was unhappy. Who would listen to him after dinner?

Ruth asked the kids to eat.

For a moment, everyone started to eat in a proper manner, and even the naughty Brad was eating quietly.

Yolanda looked around the dining table, and the scene slowly merged with her previous life, making her shed tears.

She tightened the grab on the fork unconsciously.

Afraid that Ruth would worry about her, she lowered her head and took a bite of the fried fish, which was her favorite taste.

Yolanda couldn’t hold back her tears anymore.

Before her rebirth, the Cantu family was in a mess, and she never imagined that she could sit together with her family and have a happy meal like this.

Therefore, she was grateful that she was given a chance again, and she would cherish the opportunity to be with her family again.

She didn't want to lose such a warm family anymore.

Since she was reborn, she would protect her family in this life.
