Chapter 10 You Are a Good Girl

At this moment, Brad, who had changed into the school uniform, walked out.

He didn’t button the buttons on top, and the collar was opened, revealing his chest muscles.

Yolanda frowned, not expecting Brad to be so coquettish when he was in middle school.

"Hasn't Jacob got up yet?" Brad glanced at the watch on his wrist and said, "He is going to be late."

Yolanda clenched her hand into a fist, knocking on the door.

Before she could speak, a furious voice came from inside. "Get away! I'm still sleepy!"

Yolanda bit her lips and felt helpless.

Brad frowned and walked to Jacob's room door, kicking the door two times without hesitation.

“Jacob, I’ll give you three seconds to get up.”

.

Immediately, a rustling sound came from inside the room.

Brad looked at Yolanda. Seeing that she was in a low mood, he thought she was angry.

“Ignore him. He's like this when he wakes up.”

Yolanda shook her head and said, "It's okay. As long as Jacob gets up, I can complete the task assigned by Grandma."

Her eyes were filled with both joy and pride. She was delighted that she could help Ruth and that she had successfully finished the task.

Brad's heart softened. He pinched Yolanda’s face and sighed helplessly, "Yora, be tougher in the future."

Brad led Yolanda to the dining table and hugged her to the chair gently.

"Thank you, Brad." Yolanda's eyes were bright, and she spoke in a cute voice.

Brad blinked at her and walked towards his seat humming a song, looking in a good mood.

Ruth came over with the oatmeal and casually asked, "Is Jacob still asleep?"

As Yolanda was about to speak, Brad said, "He is washing up. He will come down right away."

"That's all right, or we'll have to send him to school alone." Ruth put the oatmeal in front of Yolanda and handed her a spoon.

"Yora, I didn’t get too much for you. You can finish it, right?"

Everyone in the Cantu family ate as much as they could and never wasted food.

Yolanda held the bowl and nodded.

Ruth smiled as she watched Yolanda eating.

"Yora, eat an omelet."

Yolanda bit the omelet, which was very delicious. With a bulging mouth, she looked like a little squirrel, very cute.

"Yora, eat an apple. Vincent said this is very sweet..."

Yolanda didn’t refuse what Ruth gave her.

Seeing that Yolanda's mouth was full but she still didn't refuse, Bruce felt sorry for her.

Afraid of her choking, he poured a glass of orange juice and walked over to her. He said to Ruth, "Grandma, let Yora help herself. With so much in her mouth all at once, she might be choked."

In fact, Yolanda was choked, and she felt something stuck in her throat. No matter how hard she tried to swallow it, she couldn’t.

She gratefully took the orange juice from Bruce's hand and drank half of it before finally swallowing the food. However, her throat was still a bit itchy, and after coughing for a while, she felt better.

Bruce gently patted her back and asked her if she was better.

Yolanda nodded and wiped away the tears from her eyes. Her voice was a bit hoarse as she spoke. "I’m much better. Thank you, Bruce."

She turned her head to look at Ruth, whose eyes turned red. Yolanda quickly took her hand and comforted her, "Grandma, I'm fine now. Don't worry."

Hearing Yolanda’s words, Ruth felt sadder.

Yolanda was just a child, but when she was uncomfortable, she still wanted to comfort others, which was so sensible.

She was not like a 5-year-old child at all.

Ruth wiped the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief and held Yolanda's hand. "Yora, if you can't eat anymore, tell me. You don't have to force yourself. I know you're sensible and don't want me to worry. I like sensible children, but I want you to be a carefree and happy child."

Yolanda blinked her eyes, tears flowing down.

In her previous life, Ruth told her the same thing, but before she could make a change, there was an accident in the family, so she had to once again throw away all her innocence and behave like an adult.

She wanted to be a carefree and happy child, but it was difficult.

Yolanda thought for a while and nodded, but her tears still kept falling.

She was not aggrieved but felt that she had worried her family.

Bruce felt sad in his heart, but he understood that living in such a bad environment for a long time, it was not easy for Yolanda to change.

"Grandma, don't worry too much. I think Yora is adorable. She's much better than Jacob," Brad said as he ate the toast.

He said this to make Yolanda feel better and less self-blaming.

Ruth was too anxious. It was difficult for Yolanda to change her personality in a short period, so they should be patient.

Harry took a sip of orange juice and nodded in agreement. Without even looking away from the book, he said, "Brad is right."

Although Sam didn't speak, he looked at Yolanda with worried eyes.

Ruth also realized that she was over-anxious. Yolanda had just returned home and hadn't adapted well, so she shouldn’t be anxious to ask her to change.

"Brad is right. I was over-worried." Ruth wiped tears from Yolanda's face and said, "Yora, you’re a good girl. If I take you out, everyone will envy me. When I go to meet my friends next time, I will take you with me."

Seeing Ruth's haughty expression, Yolanda burst into laughter.

"Brandon and I are going to work. Yora, have a great time today." Eartha affectionately touched Yolanda's head. "I will buy you s cake after work."

Hearing Eartha’s words, Jacob was excited. He gulped down a bowl of oatmeal, wiped his mouth, and said, "Mom, I want to eat chips. Can you buy them for me?"

Eartha showed an ugly face. "No way."

Yolanda looked at Jacob, who was full of anger, and then looked at Eartha. She said softly, "Aunt Eartha, I also want to eat chips."

"Okay, whatever you want to eat, I will buy it for you." Eartha touched Yolanda's face before walking out with Brandon.

Jacob was so angry that he picked up his backpack and left with his head lowered.

"Jacob." Yolanda was a bit worried.

Ruth smiled at Yolanda, "Don't worry about him, Yora."

Yolanda was still not at ease.

Bruce stood up and walked behind Yolanda, rubbing her furry hair a few times.

“Don't mess up Yora's hair,” Ruth said.

Bruce dodged Ruth’s hand and lowered his gaze to look at Yolanda, with a smile on his usual cold face. "Jacob just didn't get used to having a younger sister for a while. If he bullies you, tell me, and I'll beat him up."

Yolanda blinked her eyes and said, "Thank you, Bruce."

Bruce smiled and rubbed Yolanda's head before leaving, ignoring Ruth's words.

After walking out of the house, Bruce smiled more happily. He liked Yolanda, who was cute and soft, unlike his other naughty brothers.

Bruce sat in the car, lost in thought as he watched the rapidly regressing scene outside. He had wished to have a younger sister for 15 years, and now it finally came true, so what wish should he make for next year's birthday?

Blaine went downstairs. He originally just wanted to drink a cup of coffee, but he was a little hungry, so he took a bowl of oatmeal.

Suddenly, he thought about what he had told Zack last night and asked, "Mom, has Zack found a nutritionist?"

Ruth was watching Yolanda and didn't even glance at Blaine. She replied, "She came here early in the morning, and the breakfast was made by her."

Blaine nodded, feeling satisfied.

Yolanda put down the spoon and wiped her mouth. "Grandma, I'm full."

Ruth didn’t force Yolanda to eat more. She knew that Yolanda’s weak body couldn’t be repaired in a short time.

"Dad, are we going to the hospital today?" Yolanda looked at Blaine and asked.

Ruth heard that Blaine wanted to do a paternity test again. Although she didn't agree, she couldn't intervene in her son's affairs.

She liked Yolanda very much. Even if she was not a child of the Cantu family, she still wanted to keep her.

Blaine was stunned for a moment, not expecting Yolanda to still remember this matter.

“Yes, we’ll go there after breakfast.”

Yolanda let out a sigh and sat obediently waiting for Blaine to finish his meal.

Blaine didn’t want to let Yolanda wait for a long time, so he finished the oatmeal quickly.

Before they left, Ruth handed a small lunch box to Yolanda and said, "There are some desserts and fruit in it. Yora, eat them when you are hungry."

Yolanda took it and hugged Ruth. "Grandma, thank you."
