Chapter 4 Going Home

In the evening, Eartha and Brandon returned to the Cantu Villa with Yolanda.

The Cantu Villa was located in the suburbs and was a villa with four floors.

Brandon drove the car through the iron gate and into the beautiful garden.

Yolanda lay on the car window, looking at everything familiar outside, and her eyes turned red.

A greenhouse covered a small fish pond made of green bricks, and several red koi carp were swimming happily in it.

The flowers in Yolanda’s grandmother Ruth Cantu's garden had all withered, leaving only a few bare stems, but Ruth was unwilling to cut them because she believed that they would bloom next year.

There was a specially reserved game area for Yolanda’s brothers, and the deflated small ball was still beside the ball door.

Yolanda wiped her tears, leaving wet marks on the back of her hands.

She felt happy to go home.

Eartha got out of the car and walked to Yolanda's side to open the car door for her. Seeing Yolanda cry, she felt sorry for her.

She opened the car door and held Yolanda's face, gently wiping away the tears on Yolanda's face.

"Returning home is a happy thing. Yora, don't cry." Eartha thought Yolanda was scared, so she comforted her, "Everyone at home is easy to get along with. Your grandpa and grandma are both looking forward to you coming home."

Yolanda took a sniff and nodded, adjusting her mood and trying to show a smile.

Eartha rubbed Yolanda's head and took her out of the car.

Seeing Yolanda crying, Brandon wanted to say something, but Eartha signaled him not to speak, so he shut up. He opened the door and shouted, "Yora is back."

As soon as he finished speaking, an old lady, dressed in red clothes, walked out elegantly. She had a kind smile, and her eyes were soft and warm. When she saw Yolanda, she was surprised.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

She looked at Yolanda's face with a smile and shouted upstairs, "Vincent, our granddaughter is back. Come down quickly."

Eartha gently pushed Yolanda forward and whispered in her ear, "Yora, this is your grandma."

Yolanda walked towards Ruth.

Ruth slowly squatted down and looked at Yolanda.

She found that Yolanda indeed had many similarities with her fourth son Blaine, and she loved Yolanda more.

Among Ruth’s four sons, the one she owed the most was her fourth son, Blaine. When Blaine was born, due to the busy business at home, Ruth and Vincent were away all day. The first three sons were also busy studying and couldn't accompany Blaine. Helplessly, Ruth had to ask the nanny to take care of Blaine.

Over time, Blaine developed a solitary and indifferent personality, and he didn’t like to interact with others. However, by the time they discovered the problem, it was too late.

Ruth always felt that she owed Blaine a lot because she didn't take good care of him after giving birth.

Therefore, when she saw Yolanda, she thought of Blaine, who was adorable when he was young. With indescribable pain in her heart, Ruth shed a few tears.

Yolanda pressed her lips and slowly caressed Ruth's cheek.

Her voice trembled slightly. "Grandma, don't cry..."

Ruth grabbed Yolanda's hand and rubbed it passionately in her palm, but when she touched a scabbed wound on Yolanda's hand, her heart skipped a beat.

She lowered her head to look at the scar, which was as long as half of her little finger.

Before taking Yolanda home, Eartha had told Ruth about Yolanda's situation. At that time, Ruth felt sorry for this girl because she had a difficult life before.

When Ruth saw Yolanda and the scars on her hands, she felt both heartbroken and angry. She wished she could beat the man who bullied her and let him also experience the pain.

“Grandma, it's okay. I'm not in pain anymore. Aunt Eartha said it will be fine in two days.”

Ruth looked at the obedient yet reserved girl in front of her, tears streaming down her face again.

Yolanda was injured, but she still comforted Ruth. Ruth felt very sorry for such a sensible little girl.

Ruth tightly hugged Yolanda in her arms and said in a gentle voice, "Yora, now you have returned home. No one will bully you again."

Yolanda nodded, and her eyes turned red. She had always known that her family would protect her.

Suddenly, a light cough came from upstairs.

Yolanda looked up and saw an old man, dressed in gray home clothes, slowly walking down with a cane.

He had a serious expression. Although he was old, he still had a domineering aura.

"This is your grandfather," Ruth introduced.

Yolanda walked to the stairs and loudly called out, “Grandpa.”

Vincent Cantu was taken aback, and then he met Yolanda's big eyes. His five grandsons had grown up, but they were still afraid of him. Every time they saw him, they would act like a mouse seeing a cat, and hide from him.

However, Yolanda was not afraid of him at all, so Vincent had a good impression of her.

With such thoughts, Vincent's gaze at Yolanda became much gentler.

Like in her past life, Yolanda waited for Vincent to come downstairs and then reached out to help him.

When she held Vincent's wrist, she was shocked.

In her previous life, Vincent was busy with the affairs of the Cantu family, and he lost much weight. In addition, he had a serious illness, and his wrist was so thin that she could hold it with just one hand.

But now, Vincent's wrist was still strong, and Yolanda couldn’t hold it with her both hands.

Yolanda lowered her head to hide the expression on her face, but her hand tightly gripping her skirt revealed her nervousness.

"Since you have returned home, you are a member of the Cantu family," Vincent said in a low voice.

He reached out his hand but paused for a moment. Finally, he pressed it against Yolanda's hair, and his voice softened a bit. "Welcome home, Yora."

Vincent’s hands were dry and warm. Yolanda felt warm in her whole body, and she couldn't hold back her tears anymore.

Vincent's welcome made Yolanda couldn't help but burst into tears.

She finally went home.
