The Black Limo

The Black Limo

On the way back home from class, the heavy feeling in my gut wouldn’t go away and it only became worst as I watched the battleships fly over me along with the giant Federalist robots clung onto them. After turning onto the street where my home is, I noticed a black limo in front of my door.

“What’s going on?” I wondered to myself as I crept closer and closer to my front door.

The closer I got the feeling in the pit in my stomach turned into something painful. It was as if all the air inside of my body had escaped leaving behind a zombie. The thoughts in my head had stopped as I started to think of the worst-case scenario. My mind wouldn’t just let me believe there was a random limo in front of my home for no reason, there must be an awful gut-wrenching reason for it.

I finally reached the side of the limo and there it was, the insignia of the Federalists engraved on the side of it. Which could only mean one thing, and almost as if on cue it happened. My father walked out of our house with a Federalist officer on his right and left. On the way to the limo, he stopped and looked over at me.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

“I’ll be back in a couple of days, Hollow. The Prime Minister has requested that I be at the meeting with the USS.” My father said as the light faded from his eyes.

“Dr. Freedman is a well-accomplished former soldier of the Republic of Mars, so the Prime Minister had requested that he join us and be a part of the security.” One of the Mars soldiers said.

Security my ass, they’re just planning to hold the USS hostage until they get what they want.

“That was years ago,” I argued.

“That matters not, once you fought for Mars once you will always fight for Mars.” A soldier claimed.

Why is this happening? Why do the aristocrats continue to start conflicts causing the commoners to have to suffer? He has no intentions of finding an agreement through diplomacy, he intends to hold them up until he gets his way. Do I betray my beliefs and go with them knowing that I’ll be sent to my death? Or do I just pretend everything will be fine and that my father and friend will come back alive? I struggled to find an answer as I watched my father get into the black limousine with the two soldiers and drive away…
