Omake 55: Giorno’s Childhood (3)
Giorno Joestar hummed as he tried to think of ways to spend some time at home.
It was nothing new for him- to be so bored that he wanted to test something new that could entertain him. But since he had this happening so frequently, there wasn’t exactly a thing worthy of intrigue back in his house. Thus, wandering was the first option that came to mind. It was a sunny day, so it wasn’t difficult to get his mother to agree to let him walk around their land and see if he could find something noteworthy.
His exploration was quick to find an anomaly. And one that put a grin on his youthful visage. He was elated, and so was Daisy Speedwagon. Robert Speedwagon? Not as much as he seemed to have taken the chance, and with Dio’s permission, to have a picnic in this place. Daisy was someone that Giorno met when he was quite young, making it easy for him to get accustomed to her presence. Her scars were displayed in part due to a degree of pride in those, while most were held hidden by the dresses she used. She would never wear anything too expensive, favoring only those clothes which she saw as ‘cute’.
It was no secret that Giorno found her to be quite the amazing aunt, especially due to the stories she had to offer. Some of which painted her husband as someone that was way cooler than he would let himself to be known to others. Robert was a good uncle, but he was always such a bore and he tended to have him removed from his office whenever Giorno passed by. It was such an annoying thing to do, and it offered Giorno plenty of reasons to crash into their dates.
There were sandwiches, some muffins, and even a few chocolate bits for him to claim. And where Daisy found his intervention ‘adorable’ and ‘hug-worthy’ as she embraced him tightly and cuddled him in a similar way to how his mother would treat him, Robert was fuming and promising some repercussions the next time they were alone. Giorno didn’t care because he was a brave hero and the only thing that would really frighten him was his mom and the paddle she had with his name on it.

Sometimes even heroes had to accept that there are weaknesses one can’t overcome.
And Little Giorno’s weakness was the paddle. After entertaining silly chatting with Daisy and teasing an even more annoyed Robert, the boy ultimately decided he had been a pest for long enough to the married couple, thus proceeding to make his way back home as he felt it was time for a much deserved nap. He had accomplished his mission of getting something amusing to entertain him, yet he also accomplished something else that was going to make sense only in a few years when he would be more aware of his actions.
It all started with a mere suggestion.
“So...” Daisy hummed, a pretty smile returning to her face. “When are we going to expand our family, love?”
Robert gulped nervously, but couldn’t hold a smile of his own at that notion. Family, he could tell anyone born from him would enjoy the fruit of his success and never experience poverty. Yes, while it felt so sudden, it’s been long enough to consider that option.
He held the woman close, muttering something that had her blushing and giggling. Considerations were made, plans were plotted, and more dates happened between the public and the private settings. And while Dio and his close family were off to their newest bizarre trip, Daisy would stun and put her husband in a semi-coma by giving him the news that they were soon going to be blessed with a child.
In a world where Speedwagon found happiness with riches and family, the man couldn’t help but feel content with what he achieved, and was ready to give more to preserve what he got out of this experience.
Robert Speedwagon was ready, he knew it, and he was happy for this joyous development.
