Chapter 3 "Soul Magic"_[Abandoned]

Author's here! But, seriously... I programmed a special explanation chapter at around the sixth one to explain about the skill growth, but... well, didn't expect someone to get a good part of the "hidden lore" (yeah, it's so much hidden, they should hire me for D*rk S*ul 4). Ah, if you missed it, go search for the first comments in the third chapter. Or you can wait for the explanation chapter. Anyway, enjoy the read for now. We are almost reaching the first one of them...

Edit: In the last chapter I completely forgot about his overall level, wich was still 1 even after 2 days hunting. Well, they were just 5 rabbits, but still... sorry guys.

Now, it is time to explore more of my abilities. For now I'm doing it quite well, but there where some wolves and bears I saw from the distance as well, and I don't think I will be able to kill them only with Earth magic and a wooden spear.

But, with which one should I start?

Now that I think about it, my class is necromancer, but ‘Dark magic’ doesn't really seem only about raising the death. It won't probably even have the ability to. Yeah, it could just be a branch of the Dark magic, and I will probably train a lot with it to be able to raise the dead.

I'm also very interested on what Soul magic could be about...

Okay, I decided. I will start today with soul magic, and then we will see.

Having decided what to do I start relaxing and I sit on the ground. From the name of the skill I can guess it has to be something about the soul. Also when I got it after the ‘Update’ they said I could use this ability to ‘Visualize and Manipulate’ the soul power. So it’s probably something similar to how I learned Earth magic, by visualizing the Mana in the air and manipulating it.

Still sitting in the ground I concentrate on myself. After all I am the only living thing in here, therefore there’s nothing else here that could contain this ‘Soul power’. I concentrate on myself, on my very soul. Literally.

Lesser Soul Magic LV.1 reached enough proficency advancing to LV.5 You gain the ability to see Soul Power. You gain the ability to move Soul Power

Mmmh… Yes, as it said I think I’m starting to see something… it’s different from the Mana flow I was taking energy from, which was of a deep blue color (or light blue when it was thinner), it’s of a pure white with some silver stripes all over the place. Also, while the Mana emitted a chilly sensation, my soul is really hot, and I can feel a really comforting sensation coming from it. And then, from the core of the soul a white halo expands to the whole body, seemingly fueling me.

… It’s probably not a good idea to meddle with my own soul. I should just test this on a Horned Rabbit.

After a couple hours of waiting and failed attempts I finally managed to catch a horned rabbit. I had to break off his horn so that it wouldn’t be able to hurt me and then I put him in a cage made with Earth magic when I came back to the cave. I sit down in front of the cage and started concentrating to find the soul of the Horned Rabbit. After a couple minutes of searching I found it.

Lesser Soul Magic LV.5 reached enough proficency advancing to LV.7

It was a really small Core, and it also had different colors from mine. It was completely light green, with a couple yellow stripes and emitted a green halo all over the Horned Rabbit body.

Concentrating on the halo that permeated the whole rabbit I started moving it, still inside the creature’s body. It seems like moving the Soul power inside of the body wouldn’t cause problems as the rabbit didn’t show any reactions. I continued on with the experiment, pulling out of it’s body that halo, slowly and with care. At first he still didn’t flinch, but then he started to weaken, and when his breath became heavy I stopped.

Lesser Soul Magic LV.7 reached enough proficency advancing to LV.11. It is now possible to concentrate Soul power, creating a Lesser Small Soul Core

Still manipulating the Soul power I look over at the notification. Soul Core? Is it something like the ones inside me and the rabbit? Well, only one way to discover.

I started concentrating the Soul power I extracted before from the rabbit in a single place. After a couple minutes the Soul power ended and…

… at the spot where I wanted it to concentrate I found a really small pebble, around 0.5 cm in diameter. It had a bleached green color, with only one yellow stripe.

At first I couldn’t see any halo emanating from it, but then by looking closer I noticed a really thin one all around the core.

But, now that I have this, what should I do with it?

Here you are the stats for this chapters. I decided to change Apprentice Spearman in Beginner Spearman. Every Skill has 100 level for… well, mastery level. All non-combat skills after reaching LV.100 become ‘Mastered’ (Hunting ‘Mastered’, Cooking ‘Mastered’ etcetera), all combat skills that don’t involve magic have this order: Beginner → Advanced → Master → Grand Master. And then, Magic skills are: Lesser *** Magic→ *** Magic → Advanced *** Magic → Superior *** Magic → *** Archmage (Like Earth Archmage). Also, Grand Master and Archmage have no levels. P.S.: Almost forgetting to say, he gained an Hunting level
