09: Electric Twist
The Council of Lords was the gathering of demon lords that governed the country known as the Demon Lands; the Council consisted of twelve lords that each governed a part of the country, and each of them was actually voted into the position by lesser lords from their respective areas, so it could be said that it was somewhat democracy-like (even if it wasn’t, really) as no-one would be voted in again if they were abusing the power given and not helping to raise the well-being of the citizens; the lords were more like representatives, and the Council was basically a chance to tell the other lords their good ideas and share with any pressing matters, it was all nice, wasn’t it?
And a pressing matter, it really was, for the First Lord, the one governing the surrounding area of their capital city – The White Serpent’s Tail -, had heard some distressing news.
It wouldn't suffice if they were to say that they had encountered a problem – a hero was something that always put a stopper in the plans of their advance. But this time, just this time, the Council of Lords was, ah, in confusion.

Why, you ask?
Usually, when the humans had decided to summon a hero, they– the Council – had elected a leader who in a display of power had decided to conquer the neighbouring lands, however, the current Council had learned well from the mistakes of their past counterparts, and, rather than having a powerful and bloodthirsty leader, had elected a leader that, despite definitely being dangerous and strong, loved peace and wanted for the Demon Lands to prosper more than everything. So… the ‘evil demon lord in need of a quick defeat for the good of the continent’ didn’t even exist.
And that was the main problem. Just were did the humans had the idea of them preparing for an invasion from? With the summoning of the hero, they had now basically forced them to gather their armies in case that the humans and their allies decided to strike without any provocation; they couln’t risk, the humans had a hero.
- I they want to defeat a demon lord, than we shall give them a faux one, - the Second Lord, the one governing the far north, exclaimed, and the other lords, the leader included, found themselves agreeing this idea.
