04: Or Is This Just Fantasy? (Margo III)

It took Margo another half an hour to comprehend that she really was in a different world which had “a little demon problem”; and for some reason these people thought that she would be the one to fix it because of some “otherworldly powers”.

(She also guessed that the king and his loyal subjects were kinda annoyed with her reluctance in believing the fact that she's been summoned to another world.)

- Lady Harlow, if you, please, would fallow me to evaluate your powers, - asked a man in long robes, although it seemed more like an order; Margo guessed he was some sort of a shaman or something like that since she seemed to be standing in some sort of a ritual circle.

She gave him a shy smile and fallowed, while trying to understand the situation she had landed in – she might be a fashion queen and could be seen by others as shallow, but Margo by no means was stupid.

The list of her problems went like this:

a) she was wearing the dress that she specially bought for her date with Mr Thorn, and the said dress wasn't exactly meant for a chat with a king – what with the lack of arms and it not reaching her knees;

b) she had a panic attack whenever she thought her clarinet's reed has broken, so she probably wouldn't do well in combat, in fact, she was awful at every single sport;

3) she had never liked books and films of the fantasy genre, the only game she had ever played was pokemon, so she had no idea how to survive in a fantasy world;

4) she didn't have any “otherworldly powers” to speak of (if you ignore the fact that she could hold her breath for three minutes quite easily due to being a clarinettist).

In conclusion: she was extremely overqualified to defeat a demon lord. And survive the encounter, but then again – Margo guessed that her survival was an optional variable. Then again - she could always try to charm that demon lord...

The little procession had finally entered a room with some sort of TV in the middle of it. Well, it wasn't really a TV, but that was the closest Margo could think of – it was big square with a dark... screen, for the lack of better word. She guessed it could be somehow related to this “power evaluation” the shaman-guy spoke of earlier in the room she was summoned to.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

Summoned, heh, she remembered her little brother once talking about a book in which wizards gained their powers by summoning demons who basically did everything in their stead; Margo guessed that this situation was similar to that of the book if you ignored that she was supposed to battle against an actual demon. What a great luck she had, indeed.

- Please, put your dominant hand on this orb for the evaluation, - the shaman-guy said, - the results shall appear on the screen. - So it really was a screen.

It seemed she didn't really have any other choice, so Margo put her right hand on the said orb, praying for a miracle and hoping she would wake up in a hospital room with Mr Thorn next to her explaining that she just had hit her head during a rehearsal and everything that had happened had been just a weird dream her bored brain had come up with for her entertainment.

There was a moment of silence.

Margo had no idea whether or not the information shown on the screen was good enough for a hero, but, looking at it, pretty much everything seemed quite logical – her mental capabilities where higher than physical, so “body” had less points then “spirit”, her level probably had been gained by just living her life, the “Hero” class probably was given on arriving thus making “Bard”, that probably was the class gained in her former world due to being a musician, step down, so... everything in order?

If you don't count the “Holy Song”. Where did that come from?

- Now that the Status has been activated, you will be able to always call up on it and it will now show notifications, - the shaman-guy was talking like her younger brother whenever he was asked about his games; so gleeful, so happy. Margo guessed it had to be related to the numbers displayed.

The king, on the other hand, didn't look so gleeful. - A Bard, - a whisper so quiet she barely heard it. - We will make a fine warrior out of you, I'm sure of it, - this time it was a lot more loudly, - but as for now, the servants will guide you to your new chambers where you will be able to rest until your training starts. -
