Preparing - Chapter 17

The next day Sirus returned back to the smithy and approached Nuor.

Upon seeing Sirus, the old blacksmith's face immediately perked up: "Here for your eye cover, are you? I've just finished it!"

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small goldish plate with some legs coming off the sides, shaped not unlike the lens of some eye-glasses.

"This here," He said pointing at it, "Is made out of brass, with a melting point of 930 degrees celsius, so unless your..." He hesitated for a moment, searching for the correct word, but inevitably gave up, "’Eye-flames’ can get that hot, it should be fine."

Sirus hadn't really bothered to check the temperature of his flames, but he guessed that 930 degrees celsius should be enough to handle it.

The smith handed the brass plate to Sirus and he inspected it, eventually asking: "How do I put it on?"

The smith pointed to a miniscule slider on the side of the plate, "If you slide this down the legs should retract, then push it right onto your socket and slide it back up, which should keep it solidly in place."

He motioned for Sirus to try it.

Sirus followed the old man's instructions and clicked the slider back up after pushing it onto his socket. It was a snug fit, and having metal legs touching the flesh inside his socket wasn't exactly comfortable, but at least it didn't immediately melt.

Nodding in satisfaction he decided this would do for now, and then he thanked the old man.

"No problem." Nuor said gruffly, "But you'll have to pay next time!"

Sirus had already ran out the door and was well on his way back to the inn.

Whilst walking, Riria spoke in his mind, "By the way, can we go somewhere and find an umbrella and dark clothes for me?"

Sirus quietly muttered in response "Don't you already have clothes? And why an umbrella?"

"The clothes that I wear right now are sort of a part of my body, and when the sun shines on them it burns me too, hence the clothes, and the umbrella is just in case any sunlight peeks through." She answered.

He replied in the affirmative, and asked a passerby directions to a nearby clothes store and made his way to it.

Soon after, he arrived at the building the passerby had described and made his way inside. Upon entering, the smell of many different types of fabrics assaulted his nose and he almost coughed, but it passed.

The dressmaker was an old and small woman, who looked somewhat irritable. She looked up from whatever she was doing and met his eyes: "Hmm... This is a women's clothing store, you seem to be at the wrong place. Leave quickly please."

What? Did she think he was a criminal or something?

Frowning slightly, he reassured her: "I'm here to find some clothes for my female friend."

"Just a 'female friend' am I?" Riria giggled inside his head.

He ignored her.

The dressmaker's irritable face dissolved and formed into a bright smile. "Well why didn't you just say so?"

She continued to speak, "Was there anything specific she wanted?"

Sirus nodded and spoke. "She wanted some dark clothes, and..."

He quickly asked Riria if there was anything else she wanted, to which she replied: "Not really... Oh, just remember to tell her I would like an open chest area."

"What? Why?" Sirus asked.

"For you!" She let out a soft mental laugh.

"Won't the sun get on you easier?"

"The umbrella should mostly block out the sunlight, and it's not like I'll die under the sun, I just won't be able to go back in human form for a while. The sun isn't very quick in evaporating me either, so it'll be fine." She reasoned.

Because the conversation had taken place in his mind it had only been a few seconds since the dressmaker asked the question.

Finishing his sentence, he replied: ",,,she also wanted me to tell you that she would like an open chest area."

The dressmaker nodded and went behind the front desk to look for something, arriving back out shortly later.

In her hands were two dresses, one was black, whilst the other was gray.

The first one was a medium length dress with a... revealing front area, whilst the second was much shorter revealing mostly just the legs, with a small open portion on the chest.

The dressmaker spoke. "This is all the stock we have as of now, some of the noble ladies came earlier and bought in bulk."

He nodded and asked Riria which dress she wanted, to which she replied: "Well I can't see anything in sword form, so you'll have to describe them to me."

After giving her a short summary of what they both looked like, she said, "Hmm... I still can't really tell, so can you pick for me?"

"I don't know the first thing about dresses!" He replied to Riria.

"Mmm... Still." She said.

Groaning, he turned his attention back to the dressmaker.

After thinking about it for a short while, he ended up choosing the first one, telling Riria as much.

She replied with a sweet voice: "I figured you would choose that one."

Curious, He asked, "How?"

The sweetness in her tone increased, "Because the other one didn't reveal as much of my breasts. Am I wrong?"

He froze, but quickly changed the subject: "Do you think they sell umbrellas here?"

She sighed in his head, but followed along anyways, "They probably do, just ask."

He did so, and the dressmaker replied in the affirmative, bringing out a wide selection of umbrellas.

Not putting much thought into his choice this time, he just picked the one with the darkest skin, assuming that it would work best in keeping the sun away.

He again paid with his Health Potion vials and quickly left the shop and made his way back to their inn.

Upon reaching their room again, Riria flowed back into her human form... completely naked.

"Gah!" He exclaimed while turning away as fast as possible. "Why are you naked!"

"I can't very well wear clothes over clothes." She responded dryly.

She then walked towards Sirus who was still looking away, intending to take the clothes he was still holding in his hands. She let out a wide smile seeing that his ears were bright red.

But then a thought struck her.

."That reminds me," She said out loud, "I haven't eaten anything in days..."

Sirus froze, not daring to turn around: "I-It's been that long?"

Riria giggled and pressed her naked breasts against his cloaked back.

"Mmm... I really am quite hungry" She said in an alluring tone.

"Is that so..." Sirus said in a despairing voice.

She pressed her mouth to the base of the side of his neck, and bit into his flesh, eliciting a soft moan from him.

The amount of blood she drank this time wasn't quite as much as the time she had first awakened, so Sirus didn't faint this time, but he was still severely weakened, so much so that he couldn't even move.

He fell to his knees, as his weakened legs couldn't hold him up. Taking advantage of this situation, Riria moved her still naked body in front of him.

"Can't look away now, can you?" She said smugly, beginning to change into the clothes Sirus had bought.

Sirus was forced to look on for the whole process, and when she finally finished she grabbed one of the Health Potions from his cloak and fed it to him.

Drinking the entire vial in one gulp, he quickly stood back up and began to speak, but Riria interrupted him: "Enjoy the sight?" She said with a grin.

Sirus tried to respond but the words got stuck in his throat.

Smiling, she maneuvered into the bed and motioned for him to come over.

He hesitated, but decided he was tired after being sucked dry of his blood, and rest was important anyways.

Sirus made his way onto the bed and rested his head on the pillow, letting out a sad sigh, thinking that the pillow wasn't quite as comfortable as a certain other place.

Riria was laying at his side, showing him a knowing smile.

She patted her large chest, motioning Sirus to come over.

He didn't have the will to be reluctant, so he roughly shoved his head into her breasts.

"Oh my..." She said in a mock surprised tone, "Very needy today aren't we?"

He debated defending himself, but decided to just surrender himself to her arms.

Riria smiled and patted the soft white hair on his head.

Sirus moaned softly, letting her warmth seep into his bones.

After a while, he reluctantly lifted himself out of her breasts and had a hesitant face.

"What is it?" Riria said with a curious face.

He looked at her, "Nothing... Just..." He hesitated again, "...I love you."

Her curious face melted into a sublime smile as she wrapped her arms around him.

"I love you too." She spoke softly into his ear.
