Chapter 3

“Are you seriously asking me that right now?” she asked in a dangerous tone. The young god shook in fear. Not because he was scared she would hurt him, but more about the fact that, if this continued, she wouldn’t help him with the box.

“Look, I’m sorry for what I did back then. I even apologized after it.” He lied about the first part, but the second was true.

“And you think that would make everything better? You destroyed most of my territory, and killed many of the residents. And you think a sorry makes everything okay again?”

The young god winced. He didn’t regret what he did back then, you could even say he was proud of what he did. But he knew that, if he wanted her help he needed to make up with her.

“I didn’t mean it like that, what do I have to do, to make you forgive me.”

“Easy! Never show your face again!” Gaia screamt “Now piss off or I make you!”

The young god took a step back. He never expected Gaia to react that way. He knew her since the beginning, they and their other brother Uranus were born at almost the exact same time. With Gai being the first, Uranus the second and lastly him.

And because he knew her for such a long time, he didn’t expect her to react that way. She was normally the calm and collected one, where he was the moody one. When he was angry he would instantly vent it out somehow, but Gaia was never angry.

But he was wrong, Gaia wasn’t the calm person he thought she was. Gaia was like a volcano, bottling up her feelings till she erupts.

The young god knew that he could do anything, and decided to give up. The last thing he wanted to do was fight his sister. “Alright” He said “I will go.”

With that being said he turned around, vanishing in the sea. Not seeing his sister fall on her knees.

Gaia watched as her brother walked away, each step taking him deeper into the sea. A soft breath escaped her lips as fell on her knees. Tears started to flow, as she remembered, the day everything she worked for disappeared before her eyes. She always tried to be the responsible one, always tried to stay calm, but her brother just knew how to make her angry.

“Did I go too far?” She asked into the air. She knew that her older brother was watching to prevent another catastrophe from happening. And just a few seconds after she asked, a man stood next to her.

“No. He needs to learn to take responsibility for his actions. Sis is far too nice to him”

Nodding her head at the words of her brother, she stood up and rubbed the tears away.

“When that day comes I will slap him for today.”

“Hahaha, do that, he had it a long time coming.” The man laughed and placed a hand on the straw hat of his younger sister. “Well let’s hope you don’t need to wait long. Oh and don’t let Uranus words get to your head, okay?”

Gaia garbed her hat with both hands to hold it in place, in case her older brother planned something. “I don’t know what you mean. I just want to protect myself from the sun.” She said with and turned her head away in embarrassment.

“Haha, okay if you say so. Well I need to go now, bye.” And just as fast as he appeared he vanished again.

Gaia looked one last time out at the ocean, before turning and walking away.

Somewhere in the middle of the ocean the young god sat with the box in his lap.

He was frustrated, no he was angry. “How could a single being be so resentful, I made one mistake and now I have to suffer!” He jumped up on his feet, box in hand. “I mean, yeah maybe I shouldn’t have brought it up, but how should I know that she would get angry at the mention of it? It’s been such a long time. She should be over it right?”

He looked at the box, as if it would answer him. It took him half a minute to realize what he was doing, which made him even angrier.

“Now I’m even talking to a box!” He screamed “In the first place it’s all your fault, why did I even find you damn it.” Out of anger he threw the box on the water surface, which, under his command, became solid.

And, as if the box was mocking the young god, the moment the box hit the surface he heard a clicking sound and the box opened.

“Ah what is this bullshit!”
