Jack pulled at his Axim uniform, sweat dripping from his forehead. He didn’t mean to do it, he couldn’t have. No, his hands! He looked at his bloodied hands. He knew he had really done it, he had killed a man in cold blood. He couldn’t tell anyone, but maybe, maybe he could call Ms. Jones. Yeah that would solve everything right? Jack pulled out a cellphone from his uniform’s pocket quickly dialing Ms. Jones’ number waiting for the reassuring voice of his favorite teacher then he woul-
“Hello, this is Ms. Jones.”
Jack hurriedly told Ms. Jones everything in a jumbled mess, tears forming at the mix of emotions within him. Fear, shock and sadness all together. He could hear Ms. Jones respond with a quiet voice asking him to wait. He numbly sat near the body waiting and waiting.
As the minutes carried on Jack stared at the face of his victim, Alex. How could it come to this, how could it. His hand moved by itself, touching the cold dead corpse of what was once a man, a person. Alex was a prick, sure but this wasn’t what he deserved not in the slightest.
A loud knock echoed from the door behind him, snapping him out of his thoughts. With caution Jack anxiously made his way to the door. Before Jack could open it, the door burst open. Ms. Jones nonchalantly stood in the hallway, shovels in each of her hands. Handing one to Jack, Ms. Jones calmly lifted the corpse onto her left shoulder.

“Are you going to help or are you going to stand there like a statue”
Jack still in shock came and helped Ms. Jones carry the body. The two carefully made their way to the south exit. It led to somewhere Jack knew well, the football field. Blankly Jack stared at the wide plain of grass where he had played, bleed and now would now bury a dead man. Ms. Jones hit his head bringing him back to attention. The two made it to the center Ms. Jones marking it.
Ms Jones motioned for Jack to start digging. As they digged time flowed into what might have been minutes or hours, they couldn’t tell. But as what they felt as eternity ended they looked at what they had made, a deep hole hopefully deep enough to bury a corpse. The two kicked the body in and covered the pit with dirt once again. Ms. Jones was covered in dirt, dark circles under her eyes.
Jack’s own mind was exhausted, his body aching. Maybe he would die and meet Alex then he could apologize for everything. His mind was fuzzy as he looked up at Ms. Jones standing above him. She was saying something but for the life of him he couldn’t tell what. All that mattered was sleep. Around him blackness slowly encroached till his entire vision was void.
