I killed my trainer, and I was devastated. She meant a lot to me. The magic inside me was trying to get out. I heard a voice in my head. “Calm down. I am trying to handle this.” She sounded annoyed. It disappeared. I was in my room when the voice started speaking to me again. “My name is Emerald. I am sorry I have not spoken to you before, I just didn’t want to scare you when you were young.” We began talking. I told her what had happened before I went with the men when I was two. “Why are you in my head?” I asked. “They put me in there. You don’t know….. I am a spirit. There was a prophecy that they had uncovered and they wanted to make it come true with you. It was believed if you went into a mountain, and hurt a little girl, she would become possessed by a demon. That demon would protect her. Demons were a big part of the culture and supposedly protected those that were hurt by those that wished things to happen. They believed they could control you.” She said. I realized who she was. What she was. “I can help you. Another spirit, one of light, can help you. She will be able to control the dark magic.” Emerald exclaimed. I agreed. After a few days, I could feel her. She spoke to me. It took awhile for me to adjust, but in the end, I did. Then we began to plan our escape. They didn’t care much if I left the room but, I could only go to the arena. At the time, I was small enough to fit in the vents. When I heard someone coming, I would find the closest one, and go inside. One led outside. My escape route. I crawled through and saw wheat everywhere for miles. It was getting dark and as the sun set, It reflected beautifully off of the golden wheat. I was finally free. I didn’t feel free though. I was weighed down by what I had left behind. I knew I had to let it go though. I just had to get strong enough to do it. I decided to create something to distract me from the pain of leaving everything I knew behind. I put all my energy into creating the tower. I could feel something was abnormal though. Something in the ground had an energy that was much stronger than normal. I heard a rumble, then I saw hundreds of monsters running across the field. Towards the town, meaning everyone inside was in danger. I ran after them, I wasn’t fast enough. It took me half an hour to get there, yet the place was in ruins when I got there, and no sign of the monsters. There were many children that began to emerge from underground rooms and only a few adults that survived. No one was left unscathed.
