M1 - Something strange afoot

M1 - Something strange afoot

Taking another quick survey of my surroundings I immediately decided I would not be crossing the bridge, heading into the woods whIle naked sounds like a worse idea than walking along a river in the nude. Turning to face the three roads on this side of the river I could see naught but soft grassy hills and the dirt roads.

Figuring there was probably a town down the middle path I set off... and promptly fell on my face. Forcing myself up I set off more carefully this time, and still tripped not even 20 feet away! I got up, patted myself off, and noticed something stranger than the rest of the scenario combined. My skin tone had changed! No more was I the slightly yellow I expected. No, my skin tone had changed to be marble white. Further inspection revealed a toned 6 pack, an overall muscular body, my penis seemed smaller though, probably just the cold however.

This definitely was not a kidnapping then, or at least not an ordinary one. Whatever brought me here had reshaped my body to be like a Greek statue! Guess my height must have changed too, and that was what was tripping me up. Setting off once more, I took slow and careful steps, trying to learn how to walk in this new body as I headed out in my quest for clothes.

------------------------------------------------

The sun was starting to set when I finally made it to a hamlet, it only had 5 buildings, all small wooden ones, with two on one side, and three on the other. The building in the center of the three had lights on and had some unintelligible voices coming forth, probably a party. Deciding that walking around naked was probably not a good idea, I figured I could slip into one of these other houses and aquire some clothes.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Crouching down and sneaking over to the closer house of the three I headed right for a window. Hoping for it to be unlocked was pointless, as there wasn't even a window pane in there in the first place! Forcing myself in through the window I took a quick inventory of the place, and man, was it ancient. Not a single appliance in sight, not even an oven. At least there seemed to be an open bedroom door with a crude wardrobe in plain sight. Rummaging though it I managed to aquire an oversized shirt and some itchy woolen pants for a man notably larger than I was, even now. Ready to head out, I turned around and noticed the spear resting on the wall by the bed. Grabbing it, I headed out the window I came in from.

Newly clothed and armed I started to heat back towards the bridge. It was getting dark quite quickly, but by the time I made it back to the bridge, it never seemed to be any darker than dusk. Taking a look at the sky revealed six more moons than expected illuminating the land. Well at least now I know something is really odd here. Still won't change my plans to head south along the river to find a proper town.

-----------------------------------------------------

Another few hours later I finally made it to a proper town right about as the sun... wait, no, make that suns were rising. With nice stone walls and a strong looking wooden gate it was a town right out of a video game. A pair of strong looking men in armor gestured at me to stop, while a third eyed me suspiciously from atop the wall, a bow in hand. "Papers please" requested the guard as he pulled an object out from a pouch on his back. "Can't give you what I don't have, sorry".  The guard frowned before asking "Then, do I have your permission to do a full inspecton of your status?" Slightly confused all I could mutter was a quiet "What?" Before the guard sighed, and intoned "Inspection". Upon doing so he grew a smile and exclaimed "Why didn't you just sat you were a hero? Well I guess with that gear you must be a new one. Come on in you can get you papers at the travellers hall down main street and remember, the gates are always open to great folk like you!" He pushed the gate open as I stood there, still confused by the situation.

Might as well head on in I suppose.
