I am writing these 1 day ahead incase i can't or don't want to write on some days.
Also sorry for the short chapters as i don't want to end up ruining quality by adding more words to the chapter. (more words means more easily tired me = might be lazy and not finish the chapter)
Chapter 2: Beryls new friend.
As Beryl awoke from his deep slumber he was aching all over and felt confused until he remembered what happened at night. He started crying again for around 10 minutes until he calmed down. He got up and went to the river and took a sip of water. As he gulped down the water he realised he was hungry so he went out and foraged for some berries. The berries he was looking for where red with small white dots on them. They where the most abundant around this time and so he looked especially for bundles of them. He could not remember what they where called but he did not care.
As he was looking around he noticed bear tracks. He noted to look out for bears or bear cubs. He decided he would put up some traps to catch dinner. As a child his father had taught him how to make simple traps incase he got lost in the forest. As that memory resurfaced he began to cry a little as he was still missing his father and mother. He did not know if they survived or not but the chances where slim. Even he could figure that out.
He began setting up the traps around an area away from the bear tracks whilst munching on some berries. He also decided to make a simple bedding and pillow out of leaves. He was very proud by the end of it as he had also put up a shelter from the wind and rain. Of course this took hours of hard work but it paid off nicely as he went to bed early that evening.
He awoke to the sound of birds and sat up and took his piled up berries and ate them. He decided to first check the traps and then try to carve a spear out of a stick with a stone. This was no easy task however so he needed to collect berries before. It took him 2 hours to collect enough berries for the day and then another 3 and a half hours to carve the spear. Of course he checked on the traps sometimes and he actually caught a rat. He was quite proud until he realised he had forgotten to make a fire. And as such decided to release it since it would go bad and make him sick if he left it. But to his surprise the rat stayed around his makeshift camp. He decided to name it Sun since it was the brightest part of his life right now. Since he had no fire he decided to go to the river and catch some fish with his wooden spear. It took 2 hours until he finally caught a fish. He decided to eat it at the spot and also shared some with Sun.

He was happy right now but was also worried for his parents and sad that they might be gone. Sun was bringing him happiness though so he was still cheerful. The rage he had felt last night was still slumbering inside of him, ready to be released upon the monster that killed his only family.
As the day continued he made some more tools. He made rope by tying up bundles of plants together and used the rope to hold sharpened rocks to wooden sticks he had carved. He made a primitive axe and a knife. They would not hold long but it would do until he found himself a village or town. This all took a very long time and by the end he was exhausted and went to sleep.
This time he awoke much later in the day and quickly ate his berries, went down to the river to fish and then set off an hour later. He brought Sun with him of course and had long chats with the rat. Of course it could not understand anything the boy said and ignored him.
...
I hope you are all liking this so far. The story will be going extremely slow and will probably span a lot of chapters. This story is written on the top of my head as well so please do point out any plot holes or errors you may find.
