“This always feels so wrong,” I smiled as I stepped over a couple of humans who were getting to know each other extremely well.
Walking through one of Chorus’s temples was always perilous. The entanglement of mortal limbs created a kind of sexy obstacle course and the psychotropic incense made for an extra hazy atmosphere. A single misplaced step, and you’d find yourself as the guest of honor in a surprise orgy.
“There’s nothing wrong with a little self indulgence,” Chorus said from his red velvet throne.
“Self indulgence?” I asked, but then laughed when I realized the misunderstanding. “No, I meant not being naked. Wearing clothes in one of your temples makes me feel like I’m standing out.”
Chorus drank from his goblet. Red liquid poured out the sides of his mouth and onto his naked chest.
Born an incubus and now a god, it was impossible not to be attracted to him. But he was still a slob. Just a very sexy slob.
“Well, there’s no reason for you to feel out of place in one of my temples,” Chorus smiled. “Simply disrobe, and you’ll fit right in. You certainly have the appetite for it.”
I faked a gasp. “Chorus, I’m a married woman! You wouldn’t question my honor, would you?”
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“Married woman?” he laughed. “I’ll believe that when I finally meet the mythical creature who caged the fox.”
“Can’t risk it. She’ll leave me the moment she sees you.” That wasn’t true, but I was never one to let the truth get in the way of a good story.
“I suppose it can’t be helped then,” Chorus smiled as he sat his goblet down and stood from his throne. “Come with me. I’m afraid this subject is far too sensitive to be discussed here.”
I followed him, stopping to slip a healthy dose of hallucinogenic laxatives in the punch bowl. Of course, I added an extra heavy dose to Chorus’s goblet.
Finding a hallucinogenic drug that could affect a god wasn’t easy, but the laxative was the real challenge. When Chorus asked me to meet him at one of his temples, I knew I needed something special, and I was more than willing to do the research.
It was really going to suck for the mortals, but they’d probably survive. Either way, it was going to be hilarious.
The room that Chorus led me to was pretty typical of his temples. There was a large comfortable looking bed along with a lot of padded furniture that looked far less comfortable.
Chorus reclined on the bed and I pulled up a chair that had a large hole in the seat. I think I remembered using the exact chair for its intended purpose back while we were still dating.
“Now, tell me what’s so sensitive that you couldn’t tell me in the orgy room,” I said.
“I don’t know all the details.” Chorus seemed reluctant, which wasn’t like him. It had me worried. “But it’s about our daughter.”
My heart caught in my throat, and my mind raced as I leaned forward. “Then tell me the details you do know.”
If Esmer was hurt, then somebody was going to die.
