Chapter 53: Honestly Confess

Chapter 53: Honestly Confess

It turns out this sexy beauty is Nan Nan! I'd heard Yuan Shao say that Nan Nan is a famous firecracker at the vocational school, even Yu Chengfei wakes up from nightmares hearing her name. I always wondered who this Nan Nan was, to make my invincible Yu Ge so afraid. Today, I see she is indeed extraordinary—she lives up to the nickname "Little Chili Pepper."

She's got a spicy figure and an even spicier personality!

Knowing Yu Chengfei is cowed by her, how could I dare to mess around? I immediately feigned surprise and said, "Ah, so you’re Nan Nan Jie. You really are as beautiful as the rumors say..."

Before I could finish, Nan Nan grabbed my ear, angrily saying, "What Nan Nan Jie, call me 'sister-in-law'!"

"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law!" I called out twice, hastily covering my ear with both hands, feeling like it was about to be torn off. She just told the police she was my sister, how come she changed her tune so quickly?

"That's better." Nan Nan released my ear, proudly saying, "Don’t call me by the wrong title. I like being called sister-in-law; it makes it clear I'm Yu Chengfei's girlfriend, keeping those vixen away!"

"Mm, mm." I nodded furiously. "Sister-in-law is right, sister-in-law is farsighted, sister-in-law leaves no loose ends!"

I now understand why Yu Chengfei would rather stay in an internet cafe than return to school...

"That's better." Nan Nan asked, "Now, tell me, why didn't you do as Yu Chengfei said?"

I had no intention of lying and immediately explained my thoughts: "First, I wanted to see if our dean would come to save me. If he used the school's name to protect me, even if I was detained for a few days, I wouldn't be expelled..."

Before I could finish, Nan Nan grabbed my ear again, scolding, "Are you an idiot? Didn't Yu Chengfei analyze it clearly enough? And you still put your hopes on a teacher who wants to kick you out of school?"

"I get it now, I get it now!" I howled like a pig being slaughtered. "Sister-in-law, have mercy!" I have no idea where Nan Nan learned this ear-grabbing technique, but it's more unbearable than being handcuffed to a radiator!

Nan Nan finally let go of my ear, rubbing her chest as if calming herself, "You're infuriating. Since you know now, hurry up and confess. I saw your parents are here, right?"

Aside from everything else, Nan Nan is a very sexy girl, dressed boldly, with most of her ample chest exposed. The way she rubbed her chest was incredibly seductive. But I had no mood to appreciate this, partly because she's Yu Chengfei's girlfriend, and partly because I feared she'd gouge my eyes out.

"I have a second concern." I said, slightly turning my body, always wary of her hands. "If I tell the truth, what happens if Yuan Shao gets caught? I just asked, even a first offense means a month in detention..."

"Fuck." Nan Nan cursed, slapping the table. "Why are you worrying about this? If Yu Chengfei didn't have a plan, would he let you do this? You're always overthinking! It's just a stab, not a serious injury. Yuan Shao was precise. The plan is to prevent your expulsion, why are you dragging your feet, making Yu Chengfei so anxious that I had to come myself!"

I was moved. "Really?" So my worries were all for nothing!

"Of course." Nan Nan snorted. "Without some clout, how could he be the boss of the vocational school? Just confess honestly, we'll handle the rest. Don't worry, Yuan Shao will be fine; it's just a matter of money."

"Okay, okay." I nodded excitedly, realizing Yu Chengfei's gang had more power than I imagined. At the very least, the police officer said no outside visitors were allowed during interrogation. Yet, Nan Nan easily got in, and the officer was courteous to her, indicating her strong background.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Then I said something that almost drove Nan Nan crazy: "How much money is needed? I'll pay you back."

----------------------------------------

Rubbing my reddened ear, I pushed open the interrogation room door. My mother was arguing with the school teachers, both sides red-faced. My father stood by the window smoking, seemingly deep in thought. The officer named Li was also there. I walked straight up to him and said, "I'm ready to make a statement."

The room fell silent. My parents and the teachers all turned to look at me.

"Alright." Officer Li opened his notebook, his expression serious. "Let's begin, so your parents and teachers can hear."

I started to explain. First, I talked about how my friends and I went to the cafeteria for a meal. Then we saw Mai Zi harassing a girl, swearing at her and pinching her chin. I couldn't stand it and intervened. But Mai Zi, being a bully, wouldn't listen and tried to hit me. So our groups started fighting, and I ran away because I couldn't beat Mai Zi. I ran from the cafeteria to the back door and kept running until I reached the wall and had nowhere to go.

"At that moment," I continued, "a boy suddenly jumped down from the wall and stabbed Mai Zi in the abdomen, then threw the knife aside. I'd never seen such a scene and was scared speechless."

Officer Li was writing, then stopped and looked at me. "Why didn't you say this yesterday?"

"I was afraid of the boy retaliating," I said. "The boy who stabbed Mai Zi seemed very fierce. I was scared he would attack me if I told. But when I found out I might be expelled, I decided to speak up."

The interrogation room was very quiet. The school teachers looked at me in shock. My mother was overjoyed, and my father let out a long breath. Officer Li tapped his notebook with his pen, then asked, "Is all this true?"

"Yes." I nodded. "The knife should have the boy's fingerprints. You can check."

Officer Li looked at me again, then turned to my parents and the teachers. "You can go now. We'll notify you when there's a result. The forensic department will take over from here." With that, the teachers and my parents left the room.

Officer Li looked at me. "Did Nan Nan tell you to say this? What about the fingerprints on the knife?"

"It's not Nan Nan's fault," I said. "The boy really did the stabbing. You can investigate."

Li Ge looked at me with a mix of belief and skepticism. "Wait here for a bit," he said before leaving, not bothering to handcuff me again.

After another hour or two, Li Ge returned. "It really wasn't you who stabbed him. Why didn't you say so earlier? You've wasted so much time and effort!" He then asked if I remembered what the boy who stabbed him looked like. I told him I didn't remember; the boy moved quickly, and after stabbing him, he ran off so fast I couldn't see his face clearly.

Li Ge nodded, not making things difficult for me anymore. I wondered if Nan Nan had already taken care of things. Li Ge wrote a lot in his notebook and finally said, "You can go now. I'll give a statement to your school to ensure you won't be expelled. Don't worry about it." With those words, I knew for sure that Nan Nan had handled everything.

We completed some procedures, wrote a statement, and finally, I left the police station.

Outside, there were quite a few people waiting. Besides my parents, there were Ye Zhan, Gong Ning, and a few others—probably just a few representatives to avoid drawing too much attention. Before my mom could say anything, Ye Zhan rushed up to me, grinning, "You're out! How are you? Everything okay?"

"It's all good." I smiled. "Why are you guys waiting here? You can't do much to help anyway. Have you eaten?"

Xia Xue was among them, looking quite emotional with slightly red eyes. If my parents weren't there, she probably would have rushed over to hug me. I gave her a reassuring smile, indicating everything was fine.

Zhuan Tou and Tao Zi hadn't joined the main group. They had been standing by the stone lions at the entrance but walked over when they saw me come out. Zhuan Tou still looked as simple and honest as ever, while Tao Zi seemed like she hadn't slept well all night. Her face looked exhausted, and her eyes were swollen from crying. I felt grateful for their concern; it's only when something happens that you see who truly cares about you. My dorm mates, who usually called me "Hao Ge," were nowhere to be seen.

None of Yu Chengfei's crew were around, likely to avoid suspicion.

Zhuan Tou asked, "What's the situation?"

I replied, "Nothing much. I'll explain everything later. It's all settled now, and the school won't expel me."

Hearing this, everyone was delighted. As we walked, another tall, beautiful girl approached—Zhang Ling, whom Mai Zi had relentlessly pursued without success. Zhang Ling said, "Wang Hao, I've already told the school that you stepped in to help me. If they dare expel you, I'll lead the students in a protest march across campus!"

Her bold and straightforward nature was evident even in the cafeteria. I smiled at her. "Thanks, but it's unnecessary. I won't be expelled." Now I understood who the several beautiful girls Li Ge mentioned were, and Zhang Ling was one of them.
