The Most Bullied Boy
Sometimes, campus can be more cruel than society because it's a group of teenagers with destructive power but no tolerance.
In middle school, I was the most bullied boy in the entire class.
Every time I answered a question in class and sat down, the chair would always be pulled out by the classmates behind me, and I would end up sitting on the floor. The classmates would burst into laughter, even the teacher couldn't help but smile. Sometimes, when the chair wasn't pulled out, I would sit down relieved, only to jump up hurriedly because there were sharp thumbtacks on the seat, followed by a chorus of laughter.
During evening self-study sessions, while classmates were chatting, the discipline prefect would quietly approach me from behind and smack me on the head with a rolled-up textbook, then scold me, "Idiot, stop causing trouble, okay?" Amidst the laughter, I just wanted to find a hole to hide in. After class, I mustered up the courage to pick up a chair and smash it at the discipline prefect, only to be beaten up by the entire class of boys.
The football bought with class funds was never allowed to be touched by me. During PE class, I eagerly ran to the playground, only to be informed by a chubby classmate, "How about this, if one classmate agrees, we'll let you play with us, how about that?" I looked at the faces of the classmates behind him, each with a cold expression of ridicule, and I walked away alone in disappointment. Later, when the football was broken, the class monitor found me: "The classmates said you kick the hardest, so you have to compensate accordingly."
There were countless incidents like this during my three years of middle school, and it felt like I was stuck in hell.
Looking back now, the pitiful person must have something to blame. I also had many faults. The more they bullied me, the more I wanted to fit in with them, timidly and cautiously, with a smile on my face, trying to interact with everyone. But all I got in return was more ridicule, humiliation, sneers, and exclusion... Every class has a most bullied person, unfortunately, I played that role.
And all of this originated from my deskmate, a rich second-generation fat boy. Yes, it was the guy who led the group to stop me from playing football on the playground. It's my fault, really. I was ignorant and brainwashed by education, doing whatever the teacher said.
My grades were good, but my deskmate's grades were terrible. During mock exams, he always wanted to copy my answers. Thinking back now, he wanted to copy, so I should have let him copy, it wouldn't hurt me much. But at that time, I was so stupid, I thought it was against school rules, so I used my arm to block him from copying. As a result, tragedy struck. He was from a wealthy family, and his parents were officials. He also had a good reputation among classmates, everyone looked up to him. He was the first to lead the group to ostracize me, and over time, it became the current situation.
Telling the teacher was useless, she would ask me, "Why do they bully you and not others? Look for problems within yourself."
In middle school, I experienced all the ups and downs of human relationships, going to school alone, coming home alone, doing activities alone. I could only watch from a distance the girl I liked because she wouldn't even come close to me for half a step.
At that time, I even thought about suicide.
The campus is cruel, even crueler than society. It's a group of teenagers with destructive power but no tolerance. Everything they do is impulsive, without considering the consequences. Now, I am ruthless, violent, and dark, and my experiences from that time are closely related.
Day after day, all I hoped for was to graduate early and get into high school. Our hometown is a small town, with only elementary and middle schools. To go to high school, you have to go to the city. I thought, after going to high school in the city, classmates would come from surrounding towns and counties, and I could escape the current painful situation.
I studied hard, tried hard, and tried my best to avoid interacting with anyone around me. Their jokes, teasing, insults, and exclusion, I swallowed them all. My grades got better and better, and in the end, I entered the first key high school in the city as the fifth in the entire school—City South High School.
Getting the admission notice was also a bit of a twist. The school called me and asked me to go to the guidance office to pick it up. When I got there, I couldn't find it, and even the teachers found it strange: "It was here just now, where did it go?" After thinking about it carefully, he said, "Right, a few classmates from your class came to pick up the notices just now, did they take yours too, ask them."

As soon as I heard it, I felt chills all over. The classmates in our class would never kindly pick up the notices for me. If they did take them, it could only mean they wanted to burn or tear up the notices. I rushed out like a madman, looking for their traces on the way back.
Our town is not big, and I quickly found their traces in the square. There were probably four or five people, including my deskmate, the fat second-generation. In his hand was an envelope, vaguely showing the words "City South High School." I rushed over and shouted, "Zou Yang, give me the admission notice!" I took a step forward, trying to snatch my notice from him.
Zou Yang dodged, this fat guy was quite agile, and immediately held the notice up high, laughing, "You want to snatch it, if you can get it, it's your skill!"
Zou Yang was not only fat but also tall, and he was also good at playing basketball in our class. And I was thin and short, I couldn't snatch anything from his hands, jumping around like a clown, just like a jumping clown, and it only led to laughter from others. "Zou Yang, please, give it back to me." I begged in a low voice, trembling. That admission notice was my only hope to escape from hell!
"Ha ha, Wang Hao is going to cry!" Zou Yang smirked and tossed the admission notice back and forth, the thin envelope lightly jumping in the air.
"Zou Yang, give it back to me." I begged, shaking violently, tears finally streaming down. At that time, I thought if the notice was lost, I would have no hope of going to high school.
"Kneel down." Zou Yang suddenly said, "Kneel down, and I'll give it back to you." Then, he bent down and stuffed the admission notice into the drain hole, showing a grim smile, "Otherwise, I'll let go." His two fingers pinched the admission notice, and if he let go, it would fall into the drain.
"Don't..." I trembled even more, tears streaming down. That moment, I thought if the notice was lost, I would have no hope of going to high school.
"Kneel down." Zou Yang's voice became colder.
The other classmates remained silent, looking at me numbly.
The passersby, who were constantly passing by, thought it was just children playing and didn't pay attention to what was happening here.
Who would know the pain in my heart at this moment?
I have to leave here, I must leave.
I said to myself silently, then slowly knelt down.
The pain in my heart was self-evident. This grudge, I must repay, I will definitely repay. My fists clenched.
I will leave here.
I made a silent vow in my heart. Then, tears, rolling down, one by one, falling on the clean ground.
"Ha ha ha ha ha..." Zou Yang laughed loudly, suddenly his expression froze, he took his fingers out of the drain hole, "Where's the admission notice, it accidentally fell down!" There was a hint of panic on his face, apparently, the little guy couldn't bear the consequences.
I looked at his hand in shock, and indeed it was empty, the admission notice had disappeared.
My head felt like it had been struck by lightning, and I was numb from head to toe, with no reaction at all, I even forgot I was still kneeling.
"Ha ha, kidding you!" Zou Yang suddenly took out the admission notice from somewhere, laughing and walking to me, using the admission notice to pat my face. "You, actually got into City South High School, I really admire you." One, two, three times.
I endured silently, it wasn't the first time I was beaten like this, and getting hit with an admission notice didn't seem to hurt much.
Finally, Zou Yang got tired of it, and put the admission notice on top of my head, with those few classmates laughing and walking away. I looked at their backs, took the notice from the top of my head, with my name written on it, which made me feel relieved. I slowly stood up, my legs numb, my face still showing the traces of tears.
"I can leave here." I looked around, everything in this small town was my nightmare.
City South High School, I'm coming.
I stayed home for the whole summer vacation, afraid to meet Zou Yang and my former classmates on the street, and suffer another round of humiliation for no reason. My parents blamed me for not going out more, and staying at home like mold. Ah, where do they know my pain? But they were very happy that I got into City South High School. I usually got bored at home and went out to stroll around the door, but I definitely wouldn't go too far.
Sometimes I would bump into my neighbor Yu Chengfei, who was a year older than me and also studied in the city. But his grades were poor, so he could only study at City South Vocational and Technical College, which was right next to City South High School. The two schools were adjacent, but their statuses were worlds apart. Since Yu Chengfei went to the city a year earlier, I asked him about the situation there, so I could get familiar with it in advance and avoid being clueless later on.
Once after chatting, Yu Chengfei said casually, "Wang Hao, if something happens at City South High School, remember to find me."
I smiled and said, "Thanks, Brother Yu." But I didn't take it seriously. Such situations happened frequently, and I was known as the bullied one in the class, and even the school's big shots offered to take me as their little brother. I was very happy at the time, thinking I had found a backer, but the next thing the big shot said was, "Bring fifty yuan tomorrow." I was speechless and sighed. So I was a little wary of those who actively wanted to take me under their wing.
Moreover, City South High School is famous for being a key high school. What could happen there? Everyone was so busy studying!
