Master and Student 2
“Now!!!!
Positioning my right hand at the end of the handle. I concentrate all the force, piercing the golem's head. At the same moment, the golem disintegrates. A round object with a leaking purple light falls to the ground. An energy that is parallel to mana.
Aether, so that’s why I couldn’t sense it or locate its core. Seeing that, I gaze into the non-existent sky. Sis, are you trying to kill me?
“At first, I couldn’t believe it—to think it’s something you can already do naturally.” Mater came flying down with a proud expression. “If it’s like this, you should be able to handle all of this.”
Master gazes directly into my eyes, emphasizing her words. “But don’t use any of your fancy weapons.”
Averting her gaze, I nonchalantly responded. “Yes, yes. I'd handle this in a jiffy.”
It is said that everything starts with a dot and then draws a line. However, that proved to be true this time as well. Pointing my lance in front, a dot emerges from the tip of my weapon. As if my lance were a pen, a single gesture was enough to draw countless lines in a second with my mana as ink.
A line that was never meant to be seen or made.
With every line connecting to every remaining golem and taking a posture, I concentrate the right amount of mana on my lance. Light from my mana sips from the crack that appears in the lance.
Seeing that, I didn’t wait any longer and struck the starting point of the line as hard as I could. The lance shattered in the blink of an eye, though the immense force traversed each line with the same strength. Without even realizing my attack, every golem shattered.
Magic Circuits, each person has that within the body. However, I learn to make and expand it in my surroundings to recover my mana. I didn't know it could be used like this. A tree has a root, which is like a circuit, so the surroundings have natural circuits. Although it's hard to see, with a touch of my mana, I can take over and make my attack flow on it.
It’s a technique I learned from my master. Aside from that, it’s convenient for destroying the enemy’s magic circuits, a mage nightmare. My attacks were duplicated, not splits in each line. As the attack traverses the circuit, it gains momentum to generate speed and power along the way. So there are other ways to utilize it.
Now that cumbersome golems are out, I should clean this up.
I rise, my right hand summoning countless bullets. I have a supplier of bullets, so doing this wouldn't hurt. With the circuits acting as a path, I fired the bullets all at once. Unlike my usual attack, it's traveling in a vacuum path, which makes it faster and stronger.
An attack that can annihilate enemies with great precision.
The dungeon didn’t need to absorb the monsters back, as they disintegrated almost instantly.
Taking a breath, I scream at the top of my lungs. “Oi, ain’t this enough already? Send me back!!!! ”
As though to slap me back, four knights, clad in silver armor, fell from the sky in response. Followed by their fellow man in heavy golden plate armor.
Seeing that, I can feel my veins popping up. That's when it all clicked for me.
“Sis aren't capable of this kind of torture. That bastard geezer must be the one behind this!! ”
This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
“Just consider this a good experience. Besides, you’re not exhausted at all.” Seeing the situation, master, try to soothe me. “With your ridiculously potent mana, making a solid attack with circuit wouldn’t be hard.”
Hearing my master, I decided to direct my hatred toward these guys. Now that I think about it, I'm really supposed to practice this today.
I pulled out a jet-black sword. Rising it to the top of my head, I breathed in, closing my eyes. Despite the darkness, countless lines shone. It's all protruding into one line connected to my sword.
As soon as I opened my eyes, the four knights surrounded me. Lunging an attack all at once. Before their blade could reach me, I struck the single line with all the force I could master.
In that moment, great pain eroded my head. Holding my temper with my left hand, I realized my eyes and nose were bleeding. I couldn’t see properly, but I heard falling pieces of metal on the ground.
A warm sensation wraps me.
“You’re a really troublesome disciple. You don’t need to go overboard like that.”
Mater's voice was clear as she scolded me, though her next word trembled.
“You’re the only one who knows my existence. I can’t let something happen to you.”
A memory from a year ago flashes before my eyes.
“You’re the proof of my existence…”

My encounter with her was rather embarrassing, though it's irreplaceable. I felt stupid for getting scared, as she was the most beautiful ghost I had ever seen.
I'm already captivated by her breathtaking eyes. I can sense the wrath in her hand, which is holding my face. It's made me question whether she's actually a ghost. She has pale skin, though it's not see-through enough to be a spirit.
As the fright was completely replaced by admiration, I tilted my head. "You're not a ghost?"
"Maybe not, maybe I'm...hehe." She backed away a bit, making a spin in the air. As her spin came to a halt, she shrugged with a wide smile. "I don't know either. To be honest, no one has seen me all this time. I tried getting near some people with death or spirit power, like a necromancer, though nothing works, as if I never existed in the first place, not until I see you."
Hearing her say that, I look at the surroundings. Indeed, despite her literally floating and having a strange cloth, no one paid attention to her. However, even the necromancer couldn't see her.
What’s happening here?
And if she died, for what cause when she seemed to be around my age in my past life?
While I'm in the middle of reverie, a great force shocks me. My back awkwardly bends, which attracts some attention. I hold my back and straighten myself. However, in reality, this mysterious girl in front of me threw herself at me.
“Umm, can you not take sudden action like that? What if I got put in an asylum? ”I said it with a minimum movement of my lips.
“Don’t worry, you’re the only one that can see me.” Tightening her arms, she smiles warmly. “Thanks for proving I still exist.”
Sensing the heavy feeling in her words, I didn't move my body an inch. However, now I know why I could see her.
She's a mana.
The reason I couldn't detect her was that she blended in with the surroundings. Now that I know her existence, I can distinguish her from her surroundings.
"I'm sorry, I'm just happy that someone could see me." She backed away with a comfortable look on her face.
Her reassuring tone struck me differently. But strangely enough, something about her makes me comfortable with her. Do I’ve a thing for mana? Just like that, I forgot the fact that Cilastia was reeling inside me.
“Is that also the reason why you purposely frighten me?” Berating, as calmly as possible, not to attract attention again. “I almost got a heart attack, you know.”
“Sorry, I just got a little excited. I was just supposed to pass by, but I realize you noticed me.” She looks away awkwardly, lowering her head. “Also, you have a weird soul, so I couldn’t stop myself.”
Her last words caused me to tilt my head. "Weird, soul? Maybe because I'm a reincarnator?"
"Reincarnator, huh…."
Her responses were a bit weird, though, and for some reason, I chose to ignore them. "Let's leave it that way for now. I'm Carus. May I know your name?"
"My name doesn't matter anymore." She has a long-expression before holding out her hand. "However, I have a better offer. Want to consider my offer earlier? Become my protégé. I already noticed your remarkable mana; I’ll help you use the most of it.”
Without even thinking, I take her hand.
“In exchange, I want you to...”

Calming my breathing, I drink a healing potion from my ring. However, the damage from exploiting the circuit wasn't healed.
“I’m fine, master; let me end this.” Easing my master, I left her arms.
Standing in front of me was the last guy clad in gold armor. He lets his comrade die as if waiting for me. However…
“Too bad I’m not a swordsman; there wouldn’t be an epic exchange of swords.”
Replacing my sword with a translucent one that now reflects my mana. Holding it with both hands, I take a stance.
“Master, like you said, let your mana be one with your soul.”
The world changes as if the universe were revolving around us.
It’s a whole different attack that causes a bright light to blind everything.
It didn’t take a while before I heard a glass shatter. Maybe I’m not stuck there for that long, but, finally, I see the sky...

“You stupid geezer, if something happened to my little brother, I’d kill you myself!! ”
“Die…”
Despite finally escaping the dungeon, explosions greeted me right after I got back. The earlier, clean field was now a total mess. I found Vivian and Eu with a murderous look on their faces.
The perpetrator, who made a hell out of that dungeon, Alaric, who was chained, is constantly shocked by Eu's magic.
I envy them. I take an old metallic ball, aiming for the geezer's balls. Using my right hand, I throw it as hard as I can.
"%&^$$&$&"
Alaric makes an incomprehensible scream.
“Ball hits balls.”
As I said, the two of them finally noticed me.
“”Carus! ””
They run towards me, scanning my body.
"You actually cleared it! "said Vivian in amazement.
However, Eu is looking at the remaining blood on my face. "There's still a barrier remaining; why do you have blood in your face?"
Alaric, who couldn’t break free from his predecessor’s magic, interrupted us.
“I got a letter from the Count family.”
So it's about time already. I will meet that guy already.
The main character of the novel, the second protagonist of this world.
It's already been 2 years since you got your memory back, ain't you?
