"Hell yeah, baby! I'm inside!"
"Inside who?" asked Sebille, who had been suspiciously absent in the last chapter.
"What?" Mark asked, confused.
"Oh," Sebille said dejectedly as she turned around the corner and saw Mark. "I thought you managed to get rid of your
Mark spat out of the mouthful of tea he was drinking. "What?! No, no, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm inside the system!"
"That's great! So now you'll make yourself max level?"
"Uh... no. That would be cheating. I'm far too honorable for that."
"Okay, then what? Will you erase the dragon's curse?"
Mark sighed. "No can do. Don't ask. It's confidental. Plot reasons."
Sebille nodded, then watched Mark silently.
"What?" Mark asked after a few moments.
Sebille stepped forward and punched him in the stomach. "I'm waiting for you to explain, but you keep making me guess, you idiot!!"
"Ow, sorry, sorry, calm down," Mark said, rubbing his stomach. Even though he was a hardened player trained by a strict assassin master, the princess's punch still hurt a bit. It hit him right in the feels.
"I'm going to give myself the ability to learn various skills, like the rest of the players do," Mark explained. "I didn't receive it initially, even though I should have."
"Alright," Sebille said. "I just have one more question."
Mark frowned. He really didn't want to explain Sebille what players were. He knew that to a certain degree she was aware of them, but being an NPC she probably didn't understand what was going on.
Sebille took a deep breath and asked, "Why the hell is one of your fingers in your nose?"
"Ah, uh, you see... I need it to open my me—"
"Disgusting! Stop it!"
"No, wait, I'm already in the system, if I remove my finger I might—"

"Take it out!"
"Wait, hey, stop pulling on my arm and just let me finish—"
"Have you no shame, standing out in the open like that?!"
In the end, Mark managed to turn the setting on and give himself the ability to learn skills, but he didn't have time for anything else. As Sebille forcibly pulled his arm away, Mark accidentally banned himself from the administrator console. He would never be able to change settings ever again. This was totally accidental and by no means happening only to provide an easy explanation for Mark not abusing this functionality.
"Noo, look at what you've done!" Mark said angrily, but he couldn't be mad at her for long because, well, she was hot. (Disclaimer: any thoughts about sexism is just within the reader's mind. The narrator is not sexist and is pure like a baby.)

"What's this?!" Mark exclaimed, looking at the pop up windows in front of him.

He finally got what he wanted, and even more! He could learn all kinds of skills now, just like in those other litRPG novels. No matter how irrelevant something was, there had to be a skill for it and it had to be displayed so that the readers knew about it as well!
[
It didn't matter that later on the MC would have no use of these skills whatsoever. What mattered is the sense of progress. To see that the protagonist was leveling, to see that he was becoming more.
Sebille decided to chime in. "Ah, this is just like that player-level thing we talked about, isn't it?"
"Yeah," Mark said. "Just taken to the extreme."
[
"So, do they improve anything?" Sebille asked. "You keep getting those windows. You got that one just by looking at me."
"Yeah, I got skills for every basic little thing, like

"I see now that this is your punishment for what happened earlier," Mark grumbled to the narrator. "Well, whatever. Have fun while you still can, because I'm gonna level up to the maximum and take over your place!"

"Alright Sebille, let's go and find us a place to cook these rabbits."
"You can cook?" Sebille asked curiously.
"Nope, but I can try. I'll keep throwing rabbit carcasses onto the fire until my
