Chapter 6: The Luxury of Regression

Chapter 6: The Luxury of Regression

As morning came, the warm glow of the sun peeked through the curtains. Zue stretched his limbs, feeling grateful for the comfortable bed and peaceful atmosphere surrounding him. As he made his way towards the large window overlooking the garden, he couldn't help but admire the breathtaking view.

The lush greenery and colorful flowers basked in the golden sunlight, creating a sense of tranquility that energized his senses. As he headed towards the bathroom, he noticed every detail was meticulously crafted to create an aura of sophistication in his room.

Stepping into the warm shower, he closed his eyes and let the water wash away all his worries. The soft scent of lavender filled the air, creating a sense of calmness and serenity that he rarely experienced in his busy past life, chasing the success and validation.

As he basked in the luxury of the room, he couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment. During his past time when he was bedridden, he couldn't even feel, much less enjoy the luxury he had before his disease flared, unable to enjoy the simple pleasures of life he once had. But now, he had the opportunity to experience the beauty and serenity of this luxurious room again.

He smiled as he took in the intricate details of the room once again, feeling appreciative of the effort put into every aspect of the design. He knew he would cherish this experience for a long time to come.

As he got onto the bathroom he was again able to see the picture of him and Sea, it reminded him again what he was given this chance for and his determination grew stronger as he was able to feel the reality hitting him again of what all happened yesterday.

"It really is amazing. It's all real. Everything that happened yesterday was real." Zue sighed at the situation and tried to regain it and was calm under the cool shower.

Suddenly, the door of the bathroom was knocked, and a voice came.

"Young master, are you in there?"

"Yes, Pricella, what happened? Why are you calling me while I am bathing?" Zue questioned the maide who came at his bathroom doors unexpectedly.

"Madame Susan has beckoned young master to the dining hall and master Zhang also have asked young master to be prepared for the early meeting when coming as it seems they have already been prepared for it, need any help young master." The maide replied immediately with the respect and decorum of professional.

Zue stopped the shower and wrapped his bathing suite around, and started drying himself after hearing what Pricella told him.

"Pricella, please stop calling me young mater. As I am 20 now, you can call me Zue. Also please prepare a clothing for the meeting while I dry myself please." Requested Zue.

"Yes, mater Zue as you command. I shall leave now for completing the order. Please call me if anything is needed as I will be outside your room after preparing the clothes master." Replied the maide immediately.

Zue remembered and chuckled at the behavior of Pricella from the past and now. Always professional in job and strict to herself without making any mistakes.

Zue, without dillydallying, any longer fastened his drying process and got out of the bathroom and dressed himself the suite prepared for him.

He got out of the room and greeted the maide again and followed her downstairs.

As Zue followed the maid down the grand staircase, he couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves in his stomach. This was the first time he had been to dine with his parents in the dining hall since he had returned from the future.

As they reached the bottom of the stairs, the maid turned to him with a polite smile. "If you'll follow me, sir," she said, before leading him into the dining hall.

The room was filled with the warm glow of candles, and the smell of roasting meat and freshly baked bread wafted through the air. At the head of the long table sat the Zue's parents, dressed in their finest clothes and wearing expressions of polite interest.

Zue stepped forward to greet them, offering a small bow of his head. "Mother, Father," he said, his voice calm and steady. "It's good to see you both."

His parents returned his greeting with equal formality, and the Zue took his seat at the table, feeling a little more at ease now that the formalities were out of the way.

As he looked around the table, he couldn't help but marvel at the abundance of food that had been laid out before them. There were platters of roast beef and roasted chicken, bowls of steaming vegetables, and platters of cheese and bread.

Zue's mouth watered as he took in the spread before him, and he couldn't wait to start sampling everything on offer. As the meal began. His taste buds were tingling with anticipation as he surveyed the tempting array of dishes before him. He couldn't decide where to start, so he filled his plate with a little bit of everything.

He savored the salty crunch of the bacon, the sweetness of the pancakes with maple syrup, and the creamy texture of the scrambled eggs. Then, he tried the congee, which was rich and satisfying, with bits of chicken and vegetables mixed in. He followed this up with the dumplings, which were plump and juicy, bursting with savory flavor.

As he ate, Zue chatted with his parents about the coming meeting. They listened with interest, occasionally interjecting with their own methods and opinions.

The breakfast was a delicious blend of flavors and cultures, and the Zue couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience it with his family again after a long time. He ate his fill, savoring every bite, and felt content in the warmth of their company.

The conversation flowed easily between bites of food, Zue's mother suddenly spoke up.

"Zue, your father and I have been meaning to talk to you about the upcoming wedding with Sue. How are you feeling about it?"

Zue's face lit up with a smile. "I'm over the moon, Mother! Sue and I are deeply in love and can't wait to start our life together."

His father nodded in agreement. "That's wonderful to hear, son. But we also want to consider how this will benefit our family and our relationship with the Lansit family."

Zue's mother added as to warn him the seriousness of the ceremony, "Yes, we know you love Sue, but it's important to think about how this union will affect our businesses and social standing."

Zue took a sip of his tea and thought for a moment before replying. "I understand, Mother. But for me, the most important thing is that Sue and I are happy together. The benefits to our families are just a bonus."

Hearing how much their son has grown up to the point where he shows the charisma of a true man, his parents couldn't be more proud. As they wanted to make Zue more aware of the seriousness this marriage had, they tried to guage his reaction, but seeing his mature and definitive attitude towards it, they couldn't say no more.

Seeing the surprised eyes tinged with hint of pride in the eyes of his parents Zue again clarified his standing," Mom, Dad, you guys have no need for worry as I and Sue met each other yesterday and talked about any and all worrying matters we had about the matters as well as the significance of the marriage, so it's not that I don't understand tmyour worry bit it's unnecessary to begin with, so be more confident your son has grown."

"Sigh... you really know how to talk convincingly now, Zue, you changed from the past. Guess kids grow fast when you don't pay attention." His mother lamented about how her son grew up as she couldn't be more motherly towards him anymore.

His father also supported her wife by lending her a shoulder to lean on.

Seeing how his parents are acting as if seeing him goodbye, he couldn't help but chuckle at their antiques and laugh, making both his parents follow his lead.

He wanted this to continue but he knew that this was just a brief break as after this it is time for him to perform in the stage known as Board of Zainkalato Corporation, a stage where millions wants to be part of.
