Her Innocence

but

The Blood Rains

Intro—

In the place crowded by busy workers, the first prince walks. Cheering and other loud noises prolong in the air. Like some woman yells, “First Prince, marry me!” It's then followed by laughter of different people. Someone bows at him and he just smiles in return. Those who try to approach him are barred by the guards.

Another person, soldier of Zahamara, joins his pacing. He speaks to the first prince, “My prince, the current number of dead that we confirm almost reaches four hundred. And all of them, we failed to identified. I mean, people who are looking for their family, friends, and relatives, can't recognize most of the dead bodies. They were blackened by the burned.”

“Tell Zahamara, at the peak of his operation, gather white clothes in our neighboring village. Create a wide altar, inside Jelfyr. Make it a sacred place. We will cremate those bodies again. Those who can't find their love one, friends after the war against the underworld are allowed to pray there. Tell him to inform me also, before the time comes. That time, all soldiers must inform the people to gather and witness the event. We will mourn the lost of our people.”

“Yes, my prince.” The soldier then bows and leaves.

“I can't understand,” has remarked by the councilor. “Either you have a heart or just a soul. How can you still have emotion and care to someone? Your body is already belongs to the wind, right?”

“Ask the gods,” has replied by prince. “Not me.” The first prince idles as he watches the sky. This is something bad.

—End of Intro.

In the unfinished-constructed room, Jaino rolls back the scroll. He finds the missy Ritzel stares back at him as she enters. He smiles as a greet. “You're sweating. You were having sparring to one of my men again?”

“No. I was actually practicing the Giant-hand grip. I can't wield the broadsword in one hand.”

“So, you notice?”

“Hmn... I notice, what?”

“...never mind it. Any news about your work as my reliever?”

“Actually, the JK Academy can't yet begin their operation again. Everyone in Jelfyr needs to cooperate with the prince. It is a decree.”

“I see...” Noticing the missy holds tightly the hilt of her black sword, he allows, “I'm all ears to you. Speak, don't be shy.”

“I want to swear once again.” She speaks loud, “This time. I want it to come true.” She kneels both knees and she holds both the sheathed black swords. She places them into the rough floor. Despite of the pain, she speaks, “Father, I will use these swords for the goodness of everyone.

“I will use these swords upon the honor of the Lightning Clan.

“I will teach your technique to those worthy and have kind heart, upon the honor of your ancestry.

“I will have my own decision. I will build solidly my own dedication.

“This time, I will leave the past, and change to protect everyone. Father, I will not just promise. I will make it happen.” She remains still while she endures the pain on her knees.

Jaino closes his eyes. Remembering his old days, he thinks, She was an assassin, The heir of two famous clans of assassins. The campus really changes her. Opposite to me, before. My only friends were only Kilie, Amono, and finally Judith. But as I grew up, what I met, the people with power. Some of them have dedication that I need to protect. But this time, I have to move forward. “Stand up, Ritzel.” He watches the missy idles a bit staring at the black swords. She picks up the swords and she stands. Jaino follows up, “In times you're down with your life. In times, that you don't know where it goes. Remember your oath here. Gazes at those black swords and think the time you received them. The time you had failed once. The time you rose again. And the time you swore to yourself and me voluntarily.” His words warm Ritzel's feelings as small tears flow in her eyes. “I know, you'd been secretly using your Medou ability. But, you are now free. Grow as you want to.”

“Father, thanks.” She can't stop her emotions. “I will not just promise. I will make it come true.” Wiping her tears, her body shakes while the happiness that she receives warms her feelings.

In an instant arrival, Criselia, she appears in the place. She gazes and asks to Jaino, “Did I arrive in time?” Both Jaino and the startled missy silence. “Did I disturb something?”

“I have to go father,” has spoken by Ritzel. Ritzel then bows to Criselia and she leaves the room.

Criselia waits for Jaino to speak. She speaks, “People can hear us. There's not much walls around in this room.”

“There is nothing for us to hide. I didn't even have time to ask chairs from the soldiers.”

“So, what you want to talk about? Oh, it's my first to see you wearing in such formal attire. Handsome.” She smiles.

“Criselia... That time that we met. That time that we spoke. That time that you showed me those huge sea waves destroying the northwest area of Dandia. It was just an Illusion you created. An illusion you inflicted to my eyes and senses. That terrible event that you'd shown to me. It was happened before I awoke a second time nearby you. Before the time that you cooked for me.”

“So, you're telling that I was lying to you? When I said — ”

“I already gathered the evidences. Firstly, you were not lying. You just made me believed. You made me believed that you caused the catastrophe.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“Second, that time that we spoke about our agreement. It was the time the Area General's soldiers on the place were busy rescuing people. It was not the time that the catastrophe happened.

“Third, we were around the area, southeast of Dandia's island. You swung your hand to northwest. Those waves would course northeast instead from your target location — if you really made it happened.

“Fourth, you inflicted illusion to me, thrice. The first one, was when I arrived nearby your place. Those illusions bar us from noticing those portals that will warp us to another place in Deep Forest — the reason that Deep Forest is so distorted area. I also suspected that those portals were used to fend off trespassers in your area. I was just lucky that I missed those portals. And, I was lucky that I arrived at your place.

“Your second illusion, you inflicted to me in your mansion. The brutally injured woman you showed to me was your real body, right?”

Criselia gazes to the right. “Please, don't dig further about my embarrassing state.” The nature is so cruel to me...

“Well, you're so fine now. Anyway, the third illusion that you inflicted to me — You forced me to submit in our agreement.”

“Cancel it out, and my warning will become real.”

“Criselia, you already won over me. I just want to clear your name.”

“Jaino... had I done something special? I was curious about your actions for my sake.”

“...you are...

“...my hero.”

“Ermn... Jaino...” She smiles. “I was suffocated with your words. It was unmanly to speak that to woman.”

“But, that woman saved me many times and bestowed me something that I could use for.”

Criselia silences. She watches at the busy soldiers. “...for the first time I'm lost for words.” She smiles.

“Criselia... I... I... I have to say...”

“What is it, Jaino?” This is interesting since I'm not reading his mind. “Say it.”

“...I have to say, you are innocent. That's fulfill the meeting. I have to comply with our agreement so I need preparation. That's all for today. Thank you for coming.”

Criselia glares at him. “That's all? Rude!”

“Did I said something wrong?”

“Whatever!”

In the open area, Maritis and Jesifer appear. They see; with foul mood, Criselia goes out the unfinished-constructed room. They both approach and Jesifer speaks, “Criselia, the JSA squad assigned in Deep Forest had only managed to map out forty percent of the area in detail. This includes those dangerous areas. This is a huge problem. We can't perform the search about the ancient airship without risk.”

“I see...”

“Anything you can think of?” has asked by Jesifer.

“I'll try.” To Maritis, Criselia speaks, “You improve.”

Maritis replies, “It needs to be.”

To Jaino who looks at them as he exits the room, Criselia asks, “Jaino, I want a map of Deep Forest.”

“About that place?”

“Yes.”

“Ah, that area is so distorted. Aside from that, the landscape move slowly from time to time. So, mapping it would just be a waste of time. The thing that remains unchanged in the place are caves, lakes, falls, rivers and those unexplored places due to some barriers — in my opinion of course.”

“You know a lot,” has commented by Jesifer.

“I'd been there for a quite while...”

Cresilia speaks, “So, that was why you always gazed in the sky and your shadow that time. It was for the direction.”

Jaino smiles. Jesifer asks, “Can you map it for us?”

“I can provide some basic information.”

“I'm so grateful.”

“You helped me yesterday to beat the fearsome creature. It's my turn to return the favor.”

Jesifer smiles at Jaino. Maritis notices something and whispers to Jesifer, “My highness, this man doesn't know you're the queen.”

“Yes... And I like how he treats me normally, so I want it to remain that way.”

“My highness...”

And before, Jaino could walk forward to them. The fearsome event that the queen of Jelfyr doesn't want to happen.

Introduction of the Story, Flashback,

The weird man, in berserk, continues his attack. He's grinning, lusting something, with his insane pleasure of excitement. Mysteriously Jesifer is unable to fight back. By the help of the wind, clothing around her body, she can manage to evade him instead.

“Hey! What’s wrong? Fight back! I have been waiting for this! Don’t disappoint me!” has yelled by the weird man, a little bit dismay.

In modestly— “Cut this out. It won’t bring us anywhere.”

“Ha, ha, ha, if I landed a hit, I win right?”

Amused— “Unfair for me if I allow it. Not in a century.”

He stops, as Jesifer has stopped. Cool wind blow goes on, as the soldiers are yelling her royal title along with praise and song. “You’re quite popular, are you young queen of Jelfyr?”

“Who are you?”

“I came from above the clouds.”

Enlightened to her mind— “Dandia’s ruler, huh?”

He’s grinning maliciously. “Those were bold lies in order to manipulate your unexposed mind about the truth! He killed a group of norims every year. Those people, who failed his expectation, were slaughtered!” He laughs loudly. “That was why, I killed him. He the person you called ruler.”

“What are you plotting?”

“Wow, such a calm perspective, notice? People inside those ices disappear?”

“Release them at once! It’s just a temporal punishment of mine!” —as her palm she points to his face, whereas the lights are emitting around her body while her hair dances in the wind.

Filled by more amusement, the man laughs loudly. “You’re quite a sadist, young queen. Don’t use the swint ultimate or you will lose everything instead.” These words drag her to be curious about his knowledge.

She obeys as she remains calm until her soldiers reach them. Those soldiers are keeping silent, respecting the conversation.

The weird man jumps and lands above the ice as Maritis appears to Jesifer side. “Forgive me, he has a high prediction,” has whispered by Maritis to her highness.

“What will you do with them?” has asked by Jesifer to that stranger.

“Hostage, obvious.” And silence embodies around. “As the one entrusted warding this current numbers of your kind, I challenge you to bring me a norim who is ten times much stronger than me, and defeat me to a one on one battle! Throughout then, you’ll gain the passage exited to this safe zone and know the truth lurking onto the outside world! I give you a half Month!”

“What if we lose?”

“I’ll sink this island to hell.”

“And if I failed this deadline?”

“A blood will rain from above from one of the held hostage!” Loudly, he has threatened, implying for a rush, and he laughs insanely and disappears living them silent.

At the current time, droplets fall from the skies. Jaino thinks, “A rain in the sunshine?” He spreads his palm and only to notice — the continuous shattering of droplets painting his hand with red. Jaino has his eyes wide open. Moment after, he hears, the soldiers and maids are screaming. Confuse and fear envelop to every witness. He hears one soldier,

“Oh god, please save us.” follows by someone, “What's going to happen on us?” This continues by the series of different remarks and opinions.

Jaino gazes at to where Criselia and Maritis staring at Jesifer, kneeling in the ground and crying.

Jesifer cries as the blood continues to rain. Damn you... He didn't kept his word... “DAMN YOU!” her words echo to the place. She hears Jaino speaking and she looks to see him going near,

“It seems you know something about this. Care to explain.”

Jesifer is shaking. “The god. The ruler of Dandia. The one in the sky...” Choosing for the right words, she bangs her fists into the ground. She speaks loud, “If we could beat him, before the fifteenth day of his deadline, he would free the people. Else, else...” Her body shakes as she takes breathe. “He would doom our lives. But he didn't kept his promise!” She bangs her fist into the ground.

“You're strong. Why didn't you fight him instead?”

“My power won't work on him. If only I was stronger. If only I was!” Yet her whining has halted when she hears him,

“Then let me fight him instead.”

Jesifer thinks. She replies, “I can't. I can't. This battle is a determinant of our existence. If we lose, everyone's live ceases. I don't want that happen.”

“Jes, I'm telling you this because, I was twice able to met the god. ”

He meets him twice... Jesifer listens at him,

“Although, I was able to clash with him in our last meeting. This time, I'll fight him full force. With my new allies, my new source of power — right, Criselia?”

“Huh? I don't know what you're talking about.”

Jaino smiles. “Jes, I may not look like it. But when I rage, my negative emotions are allover to me, I could cleave the heaven and earth. Jes, let me fight the god. Bring me to his place.”
