The First Prince Takes Over
Standing in the bay nearby the fizzing seawater while gazing at the sea, the veteran man, Altrass inhales the wind, carrying the warm-and-caring fresh air. He thinks, Somehow it's easing me to see the light again. Still, my doubt of my decision is troubling me. I wish there's someone I can talk to and ease my frustration — someone that can guide me or give me a suitable-and-acceptable advice. The young queen of Jelfyr, her intention I still don't know. Should I really need to act, or observe her for awhile? Or I should wait the days of our agreement ended. That agreement, its due is near.
A man, cloaked in black, named Ramon, appears nearby. He reports, “Sir, you won't believe what I'm about to say. The kingdom—Jelfyr is destroyed.”
“I be listening. Continue.”
“Firstly, the underworld attacked the kingdom. I'm just referring to my intel that I gathered. It said that the underworld was going to kill the young prince. The four diversions of attacks were confronted by the four cooperative groups: the castle guards, Zahamara's soldiers, the JSA, and the mercenary guild—the Craze Guild. While in the southwestern area of Jelfyr was in dire state, the throne of the queen was under attacked also. After that, a huge black-winged creature appeared and destroyed the throne. The authorized guild master, I mean the mercenary guild's guild master in the area, informed everyone to evacuate the people out from the kingdom. I still don't know who fought the creature. What I saw in my own two eyes when I arrived the area, was a black-winged creature was trying to destroy the kingdom and this whole island, Dandia. That was just my own understanding sire. Because sire, I witnessed the two appearances of massive lands in the sky. Many were going to fall at Jelfyr. And what followed was going to fall to this entire island. Also the huge explosion that happened inside the kingdom, and the kingdom was destroyed. Although, the creature was nowhere to be found, the third division announce the kingdom's victory. I don't know the reason why.”
“Ramon, may I ask something. Could we trust the queen?”
“Sir, forgive me sire. The only one I trust is you. And you alone. Why would you ask sire?”
Silent as Altrass gazes at the sky... “Forget about it. We should go now. By your report, it seems there are plenty of people need help. Let's go and provide them what we can donate and help. And while we're at it, try gathering info from Lladamak. We need to know more about this entire island and our fate.”
“Aye sire.”
—End of Intro
The first prince listens at the formation of light particles, “This is much worst. The kingdom is utterly destroyed. Most of the buildings and houses are gone. The landscape is hot and blackened by the burn. Some places are still on fire. No one has dared to enter an investigate to look for survivors in the area yet. Zahamara gathers those water emodes. And it may take time to diminish the heat.”
“How's the people?”
“Some of them still rejoices. But some already begins to take action about their current situations. Others are still in despair. This is a problem. Some people demand the presence of the prince or the queen. They're angry of why either of those two aren't around in such critical hour. I can't blame them for that. Those two are nowhere to be found.
“My highness, I fear, this will cause chaos if they think they lost their leaders or they were left behind.”
“Tell the people to not worry about my brother and sister. Tell them, I take over here, until they are around.” I'm still worried to what happen on my siblings.
“That's good to hear. But I fear we still have another problem. The people are asking about their saviors. They want to know so they could reach their gratitude.”
“I myself doubt who they are. Tell them, we need confirmation yet.”
“Also, my prince, about their home, Zahamara's villla is full of patients and physicians evacuated in the area. Other villages take time to reach. And the wide arena has a little space for all the kingdom's inhabitants to fit in. Any idea how we can provide them shelter?”
“We shall build the kingdom again I promise. Tell them to cut woods in the nearby forest and create a temporary shed for where they can sleep. Have them gather soft-and-smooth leaves that they can lie comfortably. I'm sure some people are carpenters and have knowledge in carpentry— have them cooperate.”
“Yes I will.
“My prince, I still have matter to talk about. Marshal Dogel has received a report about those nobles wanting to dethrone the prince and allied to the underworld. What could you say and decide about it?”
“First of all, I have to inform you, those nobles are descendants of the past, children of the underworld's underlings. If my thoughts are correct, they took granted the chance so they could ruled the kingdom if Eladin's plan would succeed. They underestimate us. Yet, truth to be told, we don't actually stand a chance against them. Still, our victory right now shows that some groups of people aren't to be looked down. They're just silently lurking in the darkness to help for the fairness and safety of everyone. I admire them. So about that matter, I need a meeting to the authorities. Inform Dogel that I the first prince, is alive and kicking, must know his plan. Also inform the people that I shall arrive in the two areas at the same time.”
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
“I'll be waiting then.”
Inside the ruined kingdom, in the rooftop of Criselia's mansion: the hot breeze of air passes through her hair, Jesifer slowly regains consciousness and opens her eyes. Seeing to her right, the man, Jaino, lying nearby, she thinks, Did we won? Did his plan succeed? Realizing her hand still holding his warm hand, she smiles. Staring at him for a moment, she remains on her current state, warming her feelings. The man awakens as Jesifer is a bit startled. She quickly sits. And Jaino slowly sits. “Please, let go of my hand,” has ordered by Jesifer.
“Oh, sorry,” has replied by Jaino.
Holding a board and a pencil, Criselia yells, “You guys, don't move, I'm trying to draw something.”
“What are you doing?” has asked by Jesifer.
“Sketching you and Jaino holding hands.”
“Cut off with the nonsense!” She burns the board and the pencil.
“My hard work...” has mumbled by Criselia.
It seems we survive, has thought by Jaino. But this is not a victory to be praised of. I have to go and fetch the prince before everything turns into chaos.
Jaino has stood. To Jesifer, he speaks, “Thanks again pretty lady. Without you, that monster won't be defeated. It seems you are the person that our queen's, I don't know if we have a queen, but it seems you are what she is looking for—the strongest.”
She mumbles, “Me, the strongest?” She shakes her head. “That's certainly wrong. It was your plan. And we won't survive without your protection. You protected me—”
“But, you defeat the monster,” has pushed by Jaino.
“That's...” She gazes down. “It's still invalid.” My search for the strongest... pointed back at me?
“To clear your mind, you beat the monster, but without my support that would be impossible. That's what you are thinking right?” Seeing Jes nods, he follows, “I hope that the queen would realize—” his words sting to Jesifer's heart “—that everyone has their own flaw. What made someone to succeed or survive has back by someone's support and belief. This is what unity is. Being a stronger can't stand alone.”
Feeling guilty, Jesifer thinks, Then what should I do. If I don't do something we all gonna die. Wanting to cry, she resists and endures the cold on her heart.
“I don't know why you're so down.” I can feel your emotions, has think by Jaino. “I'm so grateful to meet you. Without you, we were all dead right now. So, thank you very much—” these words have lightened the heaviness of her shoulders and warming her heart. Still her face shows her troubled mind. “—if you ever meet the queen, tell her what she's looking was not the strongest person but the strongest unity to survive.”
And so, the realization lightens her mind. She smiles yet resists to cry. Her wetly eyes resist to produce tears. She replies, “I'm so grateful that I meet you.”
“Me too. I be departing now. I need to visit the prince where I transferred him for his safety. Farewell, to our next meeting again.” And Jaino disappears.
Hearing the safety of her brother, Jesifer cries. He did not just cleared my mind, he also saved my brother. Thank you, third exceptional general.
Criselia comments, Jaino, make me cry also.
Around in the wide arena, outside the kingdom of Jelfyr, a whirlwind falls from the sky. And its form turns to a man, the first prince of Jelfyr. Dogel asks, “Who are you?”
“I am Evan Rosarok, the first prince of Jelfyr. By the absence of my sister and brother, while they're away, I shall takeover their duty.”
A person, a member of the council speaks to Dogel, “Dogel, you should respect his highness. We need to help the people right now.”
“I still don't know if I believe this man, but since you are a councilor of the kingdom, I shall trust this one to you. I have some matters to take care of.”
“About that,” has followed up by Evan, “I know you are going to deal with the traitors among the nobles. I can't tolerate them to harm my siblings. Let's have a meeting later on.”
Then Dogel departs the place.
Outside the south of Jelfyr, same of his image, the first prince, approaches the two people talking to each other, a councilor and Zahamara. Receiving Zahamara's approval, he declares an announcement to every person. Gathering outside the north and south of Jelfyr, the two huge groups of people listen to the two identical images of the first prince, having voice echoes to everyone's ears, “People, I am the first prince of Jelfyr — a brother of your queen and prince Raume. About the lost of our home, I need all of you to cooperate. The authorities cannot do it without your help. Let's build Jelfyr again. And this time, such tragedy we will not allow to happen again. I promise. I will change the laws to give fairness to everyone and punish those evildoers. Let's change everything from now on. I remove slavery. The commoners and nobles must have their equality—” He receives the consecutive claps from different people.
When everyone turns silent, he continues, “Those who will continue to do evil deeds, I'm warning you, I'll have every person in my command chase after you and bring you to justice. And those people that I found guilty to eliminate my sister and brother, I will show you no mercy.
“But fear not my people, I will not accuse everyone based solely in false assumption. The authorities of course must provide concrete evidence. This is of course for your sake. We of the royalty shall make your kingdom, a place to be love, to die for, a place where you can live peacefully and happy—”
He receives another series of applause until it turns silent.
“But yet, we have things to do before that. Those of course are; to create temporary shelters for us all, some must find food. Despite some of you have lost your love one, treasures, business, home, and valuable things, we must not surrender and be strong. Today we must celebrate our victory and survival.”
The people of the two crowds applause loudly while some people yell aloud. Others whistle their mouth emitting a sound like a trumpet. Even the soldiers and the armed people, some of them are crying. Yet Zahamara, Taila, Salvan Untalban, and the fifth exceptional general silence about another matter, a problem that still remains, the remnants of the underworld.
A soldier of Dogel reports to Sammuel, a group leader of the Craze Guild, “Sire, we have traced the escapee you reported to. My spies reported to me, that the person is an elite of the underworld. Still, we can't capture him yet. We are uncertain what he's capable to do that's why we require your assistance.”
Sammuel replies, “You have done a good job. You have to inform your men, to stalk after him until we find his hideout. I'm sure there is a reason of why he withdraw. Also, you have to inform Zahamara, Salvan, Dogel, and the fifth exceptional general, tell them that I need a meeting with them.”
“I will sire.”
“Oh, your presence is important, so be aware.”
“Thanks sire.”
And so the night comes, the gatherings of people in different locations outside of Jelfyr celebrate their victory. In the south, in the wide plain, the caravan of entertainers play their instruments. In the north, inside the wide arena, people are yelling about the two contenders brawling in the round ring. Not knowing about their saviors, most of the people credit the first prince, the young prince Raume, and the four groups who defended them against the attack.
