Chapter 2
I take a rest on top of a hill, below a herd of yellow triangle dolls shiver, shoveling snow down their throats, grazing cow-like and peacefully, I identify them as Snorunts.
I reminisce as a young teenager trying to evolve a male snorunt to a froslass. Didn’t go very well, or far. ‘Now I have to go far, I am hungry and they are prey, no matter the circumstance prey is prey.’ I chant this line within to steel my mind and deaden my nerves in the upcoming of the inevitable, I have to kill a pokemon.
My body agrees, taking a frighteningly predator-esque posture like a small cat. I loose all thoughts but ones that converge to kill. I start to plan my moves and then-
Moves:
Extreme speed; 0,00
Tackle; 0,05
Growl; 0,00
A list of pokemon moves appear, they are my moves, ‘AH! I had completely forgotten about this. Status!’ I commanded with my thoughts, but nothing happened. ‘Open status?’ And then a list appears in my mind.

‘So these are my stats.’ They are low, as in hell. But it is of no matter, I have my strong egg-move extreme speed, I intuitively know what it does, but I am not sure of how to activate it, or any move for that matter. I set out just a tiny bit away from the herd so as to not disturb them when I evaluate my moves , and as another precaution I decided to test tackle first.
I recollect back to my escape from the laboratory, when I tackled out of the cage. I attempt to mimic the way I felt, singling out all thoughts but tackling. A gray aura surrounds me, flexing muscles and then I ‘tackle!’ empty air in front of me and roll a meter in the snow from the force of the move.
‘That was incredible.’ It feels like I have been enlightened, instead of doing the action with just my body I did it with my entire being. The feeling lingered for only a moment. ‘I need more, something with a bit more up my alley like a quick strike, effective and simple.’ I know that my other move extreme speed will do just that.
I look over the hill towards the pack again, choosing the closest one I run towards it zigzagging, the Snorunts aim gusts of powder snow at me but I dodge all of them, then when I am at least 5 meters away from my prey I focus on only the Snorunt, It is a goal to reach as fast as possible then I ‘extreme speed’ forward mouth open, and chomp down on its icy oval body.
Crunch*
I run off prey in my mouth using extreme speed again, my muscles ache like after an intense exercise and my joints grind against bone. Finally I take a moment to breathe over the hill.
Congratulations! Evert grew to level 4! (+2)

My hair grows slightly more robust, muscles stop aching and my sight sharpens. It’s very nice, like noticing progress from going to the gym for a month, except now it was instant. ‘Amazing’, then my stomach rumbles and I am reminded of the snorunt in my mouth. I take note to make sure to kill my next prey in the future, as my current one only died several seconds after my strike.

I chow down on the Snorunts body beneath the long yellow coat of fiber, it’s really tough and cold like a popsicle. The best comparison I can make is a frozen chicken breast. I let it heat up in my mouth, it doesn’t taste a lot, and the texture is gritty. I swallow the piece, and take another, continuing on and on although leaving the eyes and other organs.
Since the herd is near me and I am full I decide I'll wander till I find a dwelling, I can’t dig in frozen dirt without stronger claws or make an igloo without hands. Now that the adrenaline’s weared off I feel the small amount of torn muscle fibers in my legs, breasts and pelvic area. They will grow stronger with time, adapting to the load of using extreme speed for longer.
‘I really am glad that I am free from the lab, all of the weird liquids it forced me to drink and needles inserted under my skin still terrify me, sometimes I still feel a needle under my paw.
But I am not sure why it did it, ever since my body felt wrong, unsymmetrical and sometimes abnormal.’ I shiver from the cold and feel goosebumps form on my skin, ending the line of thought.

Ice crystals fall from clouds suspended in the sky, we call it snow and find that it signifies the opening act of winter. Here in the tundra it is a warning to seek refuge, so I have. I am currently in a moss laden cave on the edge of a forest.
And with me are 2 oval durian-like metal things with green spikes and eyes, they’ve remained passive but it feels like they are slowly inching closer to me. It's a bit dingy in here so I am not very sure, but I sure don’t trust them not to.
I decide to wait out the storm outside inside of the cave, and since I’ve got nothing to do I decide to head deeper within. Walking on the soft moss I see a small yellow fuzzy lil boy.
The mesmerizing blue eyes, small size and fluffy exterior makes it one of the most adorable creatures I’ve ever seen, but cats are definitely cuter. It stumbles slowly forward towards the still shocked me (no not the status). ‘You need help, little guy?’ I put my leg forward and watch it hug it.
Then it starts climbing my fur with its small stubby blue legs. ‘God why weren’t you made earlier, you're too damn cute.’ The yellow and blue color, and fuzzy coat makes it so damn adorable. It reaches my back and latches on before lying still on its stomach, seemingly inactive.
‘After a not-so thorough examination I’ve decided to keep you forever, your name is Tom. I will never let anything hurt you.’ I, who is now accompanied by Tom, continue wandering the halls of the cave.
I notice that the cave is strangely open and has a lot of tunnels, the terrain isn’t like stone, it’s just really dark dirt but that may be the lack of light. Speaking of light the cave moss has been replaced with glowing fungi that cling to the walls mimicking moss.
Rasps and clicks echo from this chamber, sending waves of discomfort down my back. I return back to the entrance and fall asleep in a corner.

I wake up groggily, I perform a big … stretch and I make sure Tom is on my back then I venture out of the cave and into the dark tundra outside, the sun will rise soon.
Rumble, deeper rumble*
‘Yeesh I am hungry, really I need to get some breakfast soon, I’ll probably find some birds or rodents on the ground.’ I feel Tom moving on my back, I crank my head and see he has spun a pocket of silk on top of my back, like the filling of a hot pocket he rests there all cozy and snuggled up. I smile largely, take in the smell of pine and bark, then waltz into the nearby forest filled with a sense of serene and bloodlust.
