CHP 1: For what its worth in exchange

CHP 1: For what its worth in exchange

Looking at the stars from the size of what my planet may consider ants is quite interesting. Their size does not seem any greater than when I looked up in the form of a Mauntel as I joined their ceremony of Da’Ya Ma Naede, Night of the dancing stars. They seem similar in size and their beaty expands the description of words. To think, my skin reflected these stars just 3 months ago and I carried that beauty across galaxies. I wonder whose skin is the blueprint of these stars and their alignment for earth.

“Goddess, the creatures say that the earth will cry tomorrow or the night after,” Lalaya said after coming from the wooded area into their new home.

“Should we travel to another location. I know you do not desire to get your fur wet again,” Zanalise stroked Lalaya’s fur as they stood in front of the 2-bedroom home they had built on flat and untouched land in the woods.

“I do not wish to burden you with my troubles Goddess,” said the wolf as she bowed her head in respect.

“Nonsense Lalaya. Money is the non-living ruler that conquers kingdoms, builds skyscrapers, and feeds the people in these lands. It is such a simple substance that has little weight and no value without a currency placed on it and an object worth its value as deemed by the individual making the transaction. Making more is but a snap of my fingers and I can change our living quarters as well as the food we eat and the vehicle we drive. What it cannot buy is your friendship, internal happiness, or peace of mind. Those things are what we must cherish more than anything with the value of paper, fabric, silver, copper, diamonds, or even gold,” the Goddess spoke wisdom into the wolf's ears, but she looked out past the trees towards the city.

“What of those people who cannot snap their fingers and put food on their table or connect with the trees as we can to ground ourselves with the life around us. They labor for hours on end in exchange for pennies compared to the power within the snap of your fingers. Is money not more valuable than you presume in the eyes of those you do not speak of?” The wolf tilted her head to her goddess but still bowed in respect as she felt that she had just objected to her.

“Their will and intentions have the same power as my fingers, but results can only show after consistent actions and letting go of their will to control the outcome. For you to say they labor for pennies in exchange for hours of their day and years of their lives they, individually, decided that this was the proper currency and transaction by performing such labor without change or action for a different outcome. There are those who even blame the very ones that provided them with the stability they wish for and demand more after signing a contract that said they were worth less than. They then live their days in a state of low vibrations of hate, anger, envy, greed, or self-loathing that eliminates any possibility of change. As for those who look for the value of food in the market, they see no value of labor to grow and prepare food on their own. They decide to exchange currency for the labor of someone else to bring them their food of comfort,” Zanalise stood at the end of the path leading from their home and reached for Lalaya.

“Do you enjoy life within these woods with the creatures that dowel within them?” The Goddess asked Lalaya while still reaching out her hand.

“I do my Goddess. More than the confinement of the beautiful home that you built for us.” Lalaya answered as she rested her head in her Goddesses' hand.

When they first went into the city to find workers to build their home, because she was to drain of powers to do so herself, Zanalise designed it with the intention of sharing it with her friend and went to great lengths to make it comfortable for a wolf. Within a month the small 2 bed 2-bathroom home was belt and withing 3 days, or less, Lalaya longed to lay in the fresh grass of the plains outside with her new friends in the woods.

“May you show me this land through your eyes my friend, so that I may see its value from your perspective?” Zanalise asked of Lalaya before transforming into a black wolf with green eyes.

This excited Lalaya to see her Goddesses powers grow to such measure compared to the night she came to her rescue. She then stared into the deep emerald, green eyes of her goddess and braced her paws into the dirt so that she may run at full speed. Zanalise braced her paws to do the same. Then within a blink of an eye Lalaya took off into the trees with Zanalise on her tail.

They ran for what seemed like miles through the wooded forest, not letting on speed, until they came across a rocky clearing leading into grasslands. Along the way, Lalaya would speak to the fellow creatures by howling and they would respond in their own way. Zanalise even attempted to howl at some of the creatures but would either scare them or lose her breath mid howl. Although she transformed into a wolf, she had not been running along this terrain day in and day out as Lalaya had and was starting to feel tired as they came to a ledge of a cannon with a few grassy patches along the rock.

The look of pure enjoyment upon her friend and the glow within her eyes brought on another emotion that Zanalise is learning to embrace called unconditional love. She cared for Lalaya dearly and was beyond delighted to watch her mature in this world with expanding happiness. When she had finally caught her breath, she stood by her friend to admire the view as she was.

“Lalaya,” the Goddess spoke to her friend as they gazed at the thriving life around them, “Does this place bring you happiness my friend?” she asks her while still focused on the beauty of utter freedom.

“What do you mean?” Lalaya looked at her goddess confused by the question itself. “Why does this need a price to be enjoyed and why would I sell it at any price if it is my happiness alone.” Lalaya was truly puzzled.

“Exactly, my friend.” Zanalise said as she went closer to the edge and sat in a soft patch of grass along its peak. “The moment you put a price on your happiness, it can be bought and/or sold to the highest bidder. Then what would that leave you with?” Her words were like a light bulb to the white wolf as she realized the lesson being taught.

“As long as I have my happiness, nothing else matters. Even if I may lack or gain more, my happiness within is unchanged and shall not move as long as I remain connected.” The white wolf said as she joined the black wolf on the soft patch of grass at the peak of the ledge.

“Tell me, does this place give you happiness, or does it allow you to find happiness within you?” The Goddess asked Lalaya.

“This place allows me to find it within me so that I may carry it elsewhere. Even if we enter the clustered streets of the city or the sadness of watching my Goddess drift away from me into a place that I do not know, my happiness is mine alone and I control who or what influences it.” Lalaya lifted her head and closed her eyes as a warm breeze danced against her fur.

“What you have found within you, Lalaya, most people die without knowing it existed, chase materials, addictions, or false pretenses that only provide glimpses of it and rob from others because they deem that someone else has what they want more. Then even if they find it, they are distracted from it or unsure of its contents because they do not know themselves.” Zanalise pauses as she feels the paw of her friends over hers.

“Can we help them?” Lalaya asked, not knowing the weight of her question and the toll of taking on someone else's burdens as your own.

“The question is not if we can help them, but how can we show them that they can help themselves. The mind is the most powerful construct of the human's physical body, but the soul is the power source that can create the desired path if only they connect to its source with the will of their physical body.” Zanalise stood and then turned to head to the comfort of her home where she too is her happiest.

“If all they need is to be connected to the power within, shouldn’t they know this already? Was this not taught to them as children in their traditions?” The white wolf possessed so much but knew so little.

Zanalise transformed back into the womanly form she chose when she first arrived on earth of dark chocolate skin and emerald, green eyes. Her hair was big with a consistency of wool and stretched as the leaves did of the trees. Her dress that matched the color of her eyes flowed in the breeze and tied around her neck. While opening a portal that brought her directly to her home, she said one last thing before stepping though.

“If given two paths and an understanding of where each would lead, it is easier to choose one, but if given multiple deceptions of paths with turns, and loops all the while being robbed of your truth, it is hard to choose which path is designed for you. People tend to follow trends, leaders, religions, and spectacles that serve their best entrance or beliefs rather than their good. In all these things are lessons that can lead you in the right direction because even evil can be used for your good, but you must first be honest to self and walk in your truth. Do that and the right path and understanding will be lit for you.” With that, she disappeared into the portal leaving her friend to enjoy her happiness alone.
