I find myself deep in the Lost Forest. Ran said there were monsters here but I can’t see any monsters… I might still have to go deeper!
I’ve been walking in a straight line in the Forest for about an hour now. But I still can’t find any living being, let alone a monster.
“Aarrrgh!!!”
Just as I was about to give up, a I heard a scream to my right. It was some distance away from me but it’s not that far too. From the voice, I think it’s a man’s voice. And that means!
…I have no reason to go there. I mean if it was a girl screaming, I would have run straight away.
Well, it’s not like I have anything better to do so might as well go check it out.
After reaching the approximate location of the scream, I start smelling blood. Someone must have gotten attacked by a monster.
*Crunch Crunch*
I hear some crunching noises from the bushes near me. Peeking from the bushes, I can see a small girl in covered in red crouching. And near her is a man with his intestines popping out. In fact, half of his torso is wide open.
A monster must have eaten the torso. But I don’t see anything that resembles a monster here.
And why did the monster leave the little girl alone?
…!!!
Wait.
No way.
This can’t be.
This can’t be what I think it is, right?
I didn’t think I would actually encounter one.
Fluffy eears!!!!!!
From the head of the little girl, I can see two fluffy ears popping out! And is that a tail of fluffiness, I see?
I must be dreaming! Wait. It doesn’t matter if it’s a dream or not! All that matters is the floof!
I run toward the little girl and hold the ears in both of my hands. I pat it at my max speed. And after the ears, it’s the tail! I dive straight into the tail and hug it like crazy.
Sniff sniff
Whoa damn. She smells…like rust?
Wait. It’s the smell of blood.
Oh, that’s the man’s blood. Right. Forgot about that. The fluffy girl suddenly turns around and tries to run away. Not so easy! I’ve got a gorilla hold on the tail.

The girl starts growling. Yes, yes. She’s a wolf girl. Can’t believe I actually found one. And she’s a cute one too!
Wait, now that I look her closely, I can see flesh in her hands. Oh, she must be the monster that attacked the man.

Wait what. Why did I gulp? Why am I drawn towards the flesh so much. I want to eat it. I am too hungry.
I let go of the tail and reach a piece for a meat on the ground. No matter how hungry I am, I won’t steal food from a cute girl.

My teeth sink to the flesh. Its tender.
My tongue touches the flesh. Its tastes amazing.
This is the most delicious meat I’ve ever eaten. They say human meat is the most delicious and they weren’t lying!
In no time, I finish the meat in my hand. I want more.
I reach towards the corpse lying on the ground… and start eating it.

Ah. I’m thirsty. I pull out an organ, hold it above my mouth and squeeze! Blood comes dripping into my mouth. It’s even more delicious than the flesh.

I finish eating after a while. There is a pile of bones lying before me.

Somehow, I don’t feel anything. I just ate human flesh, drank its blood and I don’t feel disgusted.

I always wanted become a vampire! I mean they have to only drink blood for food.
That means I don’t have to make food. And they operate at night.
That’s what I was doing for the past 3 months or so, so I’m used to it now.
Also, they are immortal! I can watch all the anime and read all the mangas out there with no worry.
Oh wait. I’m not even sure this world even has anime and manga…
There are other cool powers of vampires as well. Like flying, turning into a bat, auto-regeneration and stuff.
I don’t know if I have all that powers.
So, let’s check!
I try to think I’m flying and what do you know? I’m really flying!
Two giant wings popped out of my back when I tried to fly. And it’s so easy too. It’s like walking, you don’t need to even think about it. Well to walk, you first need to learn it… But I didn’t need to learn how to fly for some reason.
Wow I’m so high up in the sky. I can see so far. Even if it’s night, I can clearly see.
Must be night vision or something.
After flying for a good while, I land near the lake. Even after flying for a while, I’m not even tired.
What should I check next? It’s not like I can just try to kill myself to see if I’m immortal…
Let’s put a hold on that.
I slightly cut my arm with a sharp looking branch to see if it regenerates. And it does!
But it’s not that fast. But I didn’t feel pain when I cut myself, so there’s that.
In the end, it took about 10 minutes to fully heal that a little cut.
I have to be careful not to take any serious injuries.
Even if I maybe immortal, I can be turned into minced meat and sealed in a tiny crack in a rock or something. That must be worse than death!
Even thinking about that is giving me goosebumps.
That’s enough of checking my powers.
Now where to go from here…
I don’t think I have any parents in this world. So, I can’t go and just crash at their place.
I woke up here in this forest, so does that mean this forest is my home?
Maybe.
But I at least want a bed to sleep on.

So, let’s see, I need a house, blood and entertainment for living. Well, it’s not like I need the last point, but let’s just ignore that. I don’t think I can build a house on my own.
I just have to steal it from someone else huh.
Or better is to find an abandoned house.

Then let’s get back to Ran’s house. There must be a village there. After all, Ran just went to see the mayor.
I start flying in the direction I came in from.
Guess what, I have been flying for what feels like 2 hours now. Because I don’t feel tired, I might not have a great sense of time, so it actually might be even longer than that.
I’m pretty sure I’ve been flying in a straight line. So why haven’t I seen Ran’s village?
Or even something…
I’m bound to find something if I fly in a straight line, right?
But all I see is greenery for as far as I can see!
And even after flying so high to point of clouds, still I can’t see anything but trees!
Something is weird…
It’s like I’m stuck in an infinite loop.
It could actually literally be that, since this world has magic and all that crap.
But why am I stuck in the loop now? I wasn’t stuck in the loop when I got into the forest...

Is it because I’m thinking of getting out of the forest? Could be.
And earlier today when I woke up in the forest, I just wandered around aimlessly.
That makes sense.
Now to confirm it.
I land on the ground, and start walking in the opposite direction to I’ve been flying to.
While walking I think of anything but leaving the forest.
I see something.
It’s the lake.
Is it the same lake as before? Can’t tell since it’s so big.
And now that I’ve solved the puzzle of the Forest of the-
Oh. It’s called the Forest of the Lost.

I was thinking of wolf girls before, so I didn’t even think about it.
After a while of walking, I came out of the forest and enter into a village.
The village seems very small.
Where is Ran’s house?
I thought Ran’s house was right next to the forest?

Let’s just go inside a house.
Everyone must be sleeping, because I can’t see any light coming from inside any of the houses.
There is a hole in the wall that I can fit through.
It’s the window I presume.

Little Brother, Older Sister and Mother, I presume.
As much as I want to cuddle those tails and ears, I will not.
After all, I wouldn’t want to accidently wake them up! Yep. That is the only reason I won’t do that. Certainly not because there aren’t any cute girls here.
