Youko’s Lovely Life of Weirdness

I wake up at 5:39pm after a long sleep. I usually sleep at 6-7 am so that's a normal 8hour-ish sleep. But sometimes I sleep at a normal time around 12am, and I still wake up at around 2-5pm. So what I'm trying to say is, I'm a deep sleeper. Most of my days go like this: wake up, eat, watch anime, use my PC for the rest of the day, watch more anime/read manga, sleep. I don't go out much, and don't have many friends. I'm your usual introvert.

I am 19 years old now and not in college, obviously. School was hard enough; I'm not doing the extra levels. Any person who knew my life would say it's empty... At least, I think. I'm not sure because I don't speak much. But even a shy suicidal NEET person like me has things I adore. Those are anime, music, programming, drawing and cute girls. I only draw girls and watch cute slice of life animes with cute girls. Your average Joe would watch MHA and draw Sharingans or something, but not me. I'm on a whole other world. I know it's rare for a male to like cutesy things like I do. Every time I share my likes with my classmates, they laugh and mock me.

I started wondering why I was a male. If they wouldn't have mocked me and teared my drawings into my face if I was a girl. I started wishing that I was born a girl. That way it wouldn't be weird. That way I can be cute. That way I can wear frilly cute dresses. That way...

I got desperate. I started thinking of ways to be a girl. But there was no way it would happen. I searched on the internet if I could do surgery on my body to be a girl. That was my little hope of it. But I can't do surgery. I don't have that much money. And most of all, I'm scared of surgeries. Then it hit me.

I just reincarnate as a cute girl

Yes. Reincarnation. I actually believed it. All my days of watching isekai animes wasn't for nothing. But there was a problem... I have to die to be reincarnated. I still have half of my life left. I can't just get hit by a truck, because the place where I live doesn't have any. Plus, I don't go out. I thought of suicide. I get bullied in school, so it would make sense even if I commit suicide. So for 3 days straight, I thought of suicide methods that was the least painful. I wanted an instant painless death. But that wasn't possible. Technically it is possible, but I can't just order a gun on Amazon and shoot it to my head...

After thinking it over night, I settled on hanging myself. After all that's the default way to do it. And it was the easiest method I could do. After coming home from school, I went to the storage room. The storage in my home has no ceiling. So, I can just easily tie a rope around a wooden beam up there and hang from there. So, I did. And finally... The time has come.

I jump from the chair with the rope around my neck. **BANG** I fell on my ass and the rope broke. So much for that. I won't try to hang myself soon...

I gave up on suicide. I will just wait until I die of old age or death by a sickness or something. I got lazier. I sleep more than before because I got bored of everything else. I dream of how I was living as a girl. I loved it. I slept for 12+ hours every day and only ate once per day. My parents got very worried but I just ignored them. My days went on and on....

Then one day I wake up to an unfamiliar scenery. I see a blue sky and trees. It's very cold, I feel strong gusts of wind. I stand up and try to understand where I am. Before I can do that, There is something more important I notice... I am naked but that's not all... I look down to my crotch area and see no stick... THAT MEANS!!!

"Woooohooooo"

I scream at the top of my lung. Whoa, even my voice sounds cute. From the look of it, I don't look 19 years old, but much younger than that... I have long smooth hair dark as hell. My breasts are nice and flat. It’s a shame that I wasn’t able to touch a bouncy honker but its ok! Because I like flat boobs anyway! Because they are cuter!

I sit under a tree and try to understand the situation. There are two situations I can think of. Either I'm in a dream or I reincarnated. But this feels too real to be a dream. It could be one of those dreams they call a lucid dream. But I’m not sure as I haven't experienced one of them before, surprisingly. Of course, I would like it to be reincarnation. No, I want it to be reincarnation. I would be pleased even if it a dream as long as I don't wake up and dream forever.

Oops. That was the sound of my stomach. Shit I'm hungry. I didn’t eat last yesterday. Anyways where the heck am I anyway? Seems like the middle of a forest. I can't see anything edible though. Welp let's just keep walking in one direction. I'll find something eventually.

After walking for what felt like 6 fucking hours, I see a building in the distance. I went toward it. The building looked very old. It was made out of stone and resembled a small castle. The sun was setting and it'll soon be night. I decide to walk inside the building. The inside is very dusty. I can see a table, some chairs around it and some bowls on the table. I go near the table and inspect the content in the bowls.

“Yea its soup… and it’s still warm…”. Well, I should eat something. “..!”. I hear something from beyond the door at the east corner of the room. Must be the owners of the house. For some reason I don’t want to eat soup. I know! I will ask for something else! I can ask for food, right? I know I’m barging in to their residence and suddenly asking for food… but come on I’m a cute little girl! They can’t refuse!!!... at least, I hope. I slowly open the slightly opened door.

“Hello?? Is anybody there?”

Oh? I can see two people lying on the floor on a pool of blood. Looks like they were stabbed to death. Damn tough luck. Well, it doesn’t concern me. What does concern me is that, I’m still naked. Maybe there are clothes in that wardrobe. As I open the door of the wardrobe, I see a little girl crying in there. Holy damn she looks cu—

“Aaaahhh don’t hurt me! Arrgh!”

“Whoa don’t worry, I won’t hurt you!”

“W-who are you?”

“Uh... I’m just a nice person! I won’t hurt such a cute little girl! I promise you that!”

That sounded so shady!

“…”

“…ok”

Phew. Thank God, she believed me.

“Mama Papa!”

“Oh, they are over there. Though I don’t think you should see them…”

She shoves me aside and goes runs over to them.

It must be a traumatic experience for her huh. Well obviously. For some reason I’m surprisingly calm. I don’t know why. I don’t feel sympathy for her and her dead parents. …I just find her cute. Ok that’s pretty messed up if I say so myself.

I’ll just let her mourn for a bit. In the meant time. I’m gonna borrow your clothes, ok? There are multiple clothes in the wardrobe. They all look cute but I’m obviously gonna choose the cutest clothes I can find.

Oh, that’s a nice black dress that’ll go with my dark black hair. I choose you, dark black dress!

I experience my first-time wearing clothes as a girl. That took way too much time than I expected. But damn this is so revealing! Oh? Seems like the girl seems like she is done mourning.

“Are you fine now?”

“…. kill”

“Eh?”

“…IM GONNA KILL THEM!!”

“Uh… ye-yea Kill them! I mean how dare they kill your parents right?”

She hugs the decomposing bodies and start crying again.

“So, what’s your name?”

“…Ran”

Ran? You don’t look like an 800-year-old kitsune youkai with nine fluffy tails though…

“Do you know who killed your parents and for what purpose they did it?”

“…I have a pretty good hunch”

A hunch huh.

“My parents are researchers. They research dark magic…”

W-what? Dark magic? This world has magic???? LET’S GOOO!

“I see…”

“Yea”

“…”

“…wait that’s it? No further explanation?”

“…?”

“Um sorry but can you explain why your parents got killed for researching dark magic?”

“Huh? How do you not know that?”

“Well.. I’m not from around here so…”

“Oh… now that you said it, you certainly don’t look local… Sure I’ll explain it. 40 years ago, when vampires ruled the night.  Humans back then wasn’t able to use magic and so they were helpless against vampires that have incredible magical capacity. And they feasted on humans non-stop for 4 years. As humanity was about to go extinct, a hero rose among the humans. And the human was able to use magic. She shoots beams of light that incinerated everything. And with unblockable beams of light, she put made the vampires go extinct. She killed every last one.”

Vampires? Cool.

“Hey, are you listening?”

“O-oh yea I’m listening..”

“Anyways, the hero was called the “Savior of light” and people looked up to her like she was a goddess that came to free the humans of despair. After the vampires went extinct, humans lived in peace. The hero married a human named Fritz and founded the kingdom of Fritzia. The “Savior of light” became the queen and Fritz the king. They lived peacefully for many years and had several children as well. Their children were able to use magic. And the Cult of Goeteia wanted that power as well”

“The Cult of Goeteia?”

“They are a group of lunatics that was formed way before. They study everything about magic, its origin, how compatible humans are with it, etc. They wanted more power so they can rule the world. They tried to see if humans could use magic as well.”

Damn that sounds so cool!

“The cult got into the kingdom and somehow managed to threaten the queen and now control the entire kingdom as well. On the surface some of the cult’s people worked as the “Knights of Fritzia”, but on the inside, they performed many experiments on the children and was able to artificially produce magic. But their artificially produced magic nowhere powerful as the magic, the queen and her children were able to use. The queen’s magic was bright yellow and her children warried between dark orange magic to light orange magic, with light orange being the strongest. But the cult’s artificial magic was blue and very weak.

Soon enough, some people amongst the masses were able to use magic naturally. The magic these people were able to use was bright red. And it was far more powerful than the cult’s magic and the cult obviously didn’t like that. Fortunately for the cult, there weren’t that many people that could use magic naturally and most of them were children that couldn’t even talk. So, they tried to abduct these naturals and perform experiments on them. They were able to kidnap some people but a few were able to escape, as they were far more powerful. They fled and tried to tell that the knights of Fritzia were evil. Some people believed them but most people didn’t. The people that believed were the parents of the children that the cult kidnapped. They tried to attack the king’s palace and rescue the kidnapped children. But the cult was able to prevent that and killed all of them. The cult’s magic wasn’t powerful but they were able to use them for much longer than naturals could use. The naturals need to rest after using magic to restore their energy. But the cult’s people didn’t, as they used tools to use magic. And there were thousands of people in the cult and only a hundred people in the revolting group. The cult tried to capture people that could use magic, alive. But their magic-sealing equipment didn’t work on these people so they massacred them all.”

“… But naturals still-“

“…Hey! Are you listening to me?”

“O-oh sorry you were dumping so much info on me suddenly, I got sleepy…”

“I mostly got the gist of it, so its ok!”

“I-if you say so..”

“So, what are you gonna do now?”

“..Right. Now that the cult has come all the way here to the town of the lost, I will try to tell the mayor that right away and try to find any more people of the cult in town. Grandpa will have to listen to me now…”

“What about you?... who are you anyway? I still don’t know your name as well”

She finally noticed huh?

“Um well so im gonna go that way, ok?”

I point at the dense forest that I came from.

“Wh-what? Are you insane? Why are you trying to go straight to the Lost Forest? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Not that I care”

Wow this girl is merciless. But the Lost Forest huh? I should be able to find a certain wolf youkai in there, right? The town is also called the Town of the Lost… Is that because its right next to the Lost Forest?

“Hey! Are you listening?!”

Oh right. I got lost in thought again. Oopsie. But its not my fault. I don’t like talking to people anyway.

“Anyways goodbye”

“W-wait! Didn’t you hear what I said? Do you really have a death wish? The Lost Forest is full of dangerous monsters you know!”

Hmmm that’s strange. I didn’t encounter any monsters when I got here. Must be luck. But there are monsters as well in this world huh. This is really a fantasy world. And I got Isekai’d to it. I might be able to use magic as well. Oh, now I’m getting pretty hyped. Also, I’m a cute girl.

“Bye”

“Oi!”

I ignore ran and go straight to Lost Forest. Why you say? Because I might be able to see some wolf youkais with fluffy ears! Fluffy ears rock! I feel bad for leaving ran who just lost both her parents but unfortunately, she doesn’t have fluffy ears and tails. Even though her name is Ran.
