Prologue

A devout  Roman Catholic Indonesian businessman, who has reached the age of 200 years old and currently dying on his deathbed surrounded by loved ones, requested that he be buried within a Capsula Mundi burial pod when he dies.

He instructed his descendants that his grave to be placed within the family home and to use a female Ginko Biloba tree as his tombstone.

As the tree itself is robust, hardy and can live for thousands of years, he hopes that when the tree starts to grow fruits, his descendant can enjoy the ginkgo nuts as something to be consumed and enjoyed. He has the hope for his descendants to remember him by, even long after his time has passed.

After 300 years has passed since his loved ones honor his request and buried him on the family property, his body encapsulated within a pod of a female Ginko Biloba tree.

The tree itself is growing and thriving, with time the family members have since grown into a clan and consider the tree as sacred and holy.

But after 300 years things have changed, in this time humanity has also changed but for the worse after encountering the Elven Gallente Federation, the Dwarven Amarr Empire, and the Orcish Minmattar Republic.

Races that have long considered as a Tolkien fantasy by humanity clashed with itself as a futuristic alien race with their own culture and military power.

The first conflict was inevitable in the early years, and humanity suffered for it.

Lives lost, nations fall, religion and culture in shock and upheaval. Historians refer to the time as a dark age of conflict and suffering as compared to the strength and military power of the other races; humanity is the weakest of them all while fractured and divided into separate nations, languages, and cultures.

Forged under severe and numerous hardships, humanity itself is eventually reborn, united and fought back as the Caldari State, a proud race built on the tenets of patriotism and capitalism.

It is led by rulers who are determined to see it return to the meritocratic ideals of old. Ruthless and efficient in the boardroom as well as on the battlefield, humanity is living emblems of strength, persistence, and dignity.

As a state built on corporate capitalism, the Caldari State is run by a few mega-corporations which divide the State between them, controlling and ruling every aspect of society.

Each corporation is made up of thousands of smaller companies, ranging from industrial companies to law firms.

All land and real estate are under the ownership of a company which leases it to the citizens, and independent companies also handle the government and police services.

The Caldari State stands for corporate capitalism in its purest form.

Eight great Corporations together own more than 90% of all property within the State.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Each of the corporations is made up of thousands of companies of various sizes and various sorts, ranging from pure mining companies to great police companies.

There is no single, unified government as such; each corporation rules its territories like their kingdom with little or no interference from the other corporations.

Competition, efficiency, and market share are more important to the corporations than the accumulation of wealth (although the latter is often a happy by-product of the former).

Business for the good of the individual rather than the good of the many is something alien to the Caldari.

In higher matters, such as in foreign policy towards the other empires, the Board of Directors, which consists of the CEOs of the eight major corporations, has the highest authority.

The Board of Directors also makes sure that the social infrastructure of the State remains intact and settles all major quarrels between the corporations.

The eight mega-corporations of the Caldari State are Sukuuvestaa Corporation, Nugoeihuvi Corporation, CBD Corporation, Ishukone Corporation, Hyasyoda Corporation, Kaalakiota Corporation, Wiyrkomi Corporation and finally Lai Dai Corporation.

The mega-corporations are further divided into three major factions as follows the Practicals, the Liberals, and the Patriots.

They are the three power blocs in the Caldari corporate world. For the most part, what passes for political affiliation in the Caldari State is achieved at the corporate scale, with the majority of employees indoctrinated into their corporation's prevailing philosophy.

There are exceptions, particularly where employees have transferred between corporations, but these are few and far between.

Although each corp is also a unique study in and of itself, containing within it many different positions and dogmas, the political mindsets of the Caldari are categorized into three main factions.

The Sukuuvestaa Corporation, CBD Corporation, and Nugoeihuvi Corporation between them make up the Practical faction, which cares little for limiting concepts like ethics. This bloc is frequently associated with organized crime and has an exploitative view of international trade. It also takes a zero-sum view of profit and loss in cluster-wide markets.

Next, the Liberals faction, comprised of the Hyasyoda Corporation and Ishukone Corporation, the Liberals bloc believes in the principles of free trade and cooperative relations with foreign powers. They are the most active supporters of alien integration in the Caldari State, with the highest percentage of cross-racial marriage within the State.

And finally, generally regarded as the most powerful faction, the Patriots are an alliance of Lai Dai Corporation, Wiyrkomi Corporation, and the mighty Kaalakiota Corporation, who between them and their subsidiaries possess capabilities rivaling those of the other two Caldari political factions combined. They are genuinely patriotic and incredibly proud, less concerned with trade, and more with the position of the Caldari politically and militarily in the international community.

Even though there is a healthy competition in between the mega-corporations and the major factions, against the other races, all three political blocs will stand united and strike with the force of an avalanche, earning victories from the jaw of defeat.

Common are the stories of humanity fighting until the last and stories of sacrifices made by heroic individuals who sacrificed themselves, stories of humanity fighting viciously and tenaciously for their species have won them respect from their enemies.

Humanity is known as the living emblems of strength, persistence, and dignity in the eyes of galactic civilizations.

It is in this kind of world, the same tree within a now influential Caldari clan starts glowing and pulsing, and within the bark, a small figure emerged, feminine and petite with leaves instead of hairs and barks instead of skin covering her body.

This chapter is the start of the saga of Raine the Virtuous, reborn as Being Y.
