CHAPTER 10.1
Interlude - Six Fingers

One week has passed since, Sub, handed over the captives and got the 'Access Card' from the President.
Since then, he's going all over the book stores, or libraries within Mech-Country to collect the Mangas and Books he wanted to read.
After collecting for whole week.
He was now at Steam-Town enjoying public bath.
(So, Jyoti, has returned, huh... I should head back to home and see how much Shigeo and his friends improved in this past week.) < Sub >
◆Steam-Town: Conference Room◆
At the same time.
President(Rhuko) along with other who governor other cities and villages were all present at the conference room.
This room was large enough to hold 30 people at once.
There was 2.5m wide desk on the middle of the room, President along with 2 more people were sitting side by side.
One was the Minister of Steam-Town, who had a moustache and a scar on his left eye, his name was, Leon.
Another one was a woman at her mid 30s with blonde smooth hair, who governor over Litore-Town*, her name was, Lily.

'Litore' is Latin word which means Beach.

They both were the top town after Mech-City.
And others who were at the room was sitting across them.
There was 6 desk back and forth, and on each 5 of them were sitting on it. Who governor over other Towns and Villages which was within Mech-Country.
「This is ridiculous! If Mech-City was destroyed then, how are we supposed to defend ourselves?!」
「...You're saying that, Guardian, was defeated and got captured by the enemy?!!」
Everyone was frantic with worry at the fact that, Guardian, got captured and soon, Demon Lord, Ruiyuko, will wage war which will turn this whole continent into battlefield.
And also, Mech-City, got destroyed which was standing for more than thousands of years as the defender along with, Guardians, for several generations.
And now, Guardian, was captured and Mech-City was destroyed, which was the key factor to keep the Demons from waging war against them.
You can say that the enemies got their most important piece before war even started...
It was big disadvantage for them, for sure.

Even, President, was silent and didn't replied to any comments.
「... I know, this was unexpected turn of event.... But please calm down, everyone!」< Leon >
「Yes! I agree with, Mr.Leon, nothing will solve if we just complain!」< Lily >
But then, Minister Leon, and Minister Lily, both stood up from their chairs while slamming the desk with their hands.
They were right about that, nothing will solve if everyone just make commotion, instead of thinking about their next move.
To which they all kept quiet and looked at the trio.
「Now then....」< Rhuko >
When everyone got quiet, President, rose his head up to which draws all attention to him alone.
Then, he took out a piece of metal from his pocket which look alike a big black coin.
「...As everyone already knows, Guardian of Mech-Country got captured and soon enough war will begin..... And also just a few days ago I received a massage from, Demon Lord, Ruiyuko, here it is...」< Rhuko >
While saying that, he couldn't help but to remember the day when, Sub, handed over the captives to him.
And on the same day, when he try interrogate the captives, one of the Goblin handed him a piece of metal and said 'A message from our, Lord!'
And when he was about to ask some question, all the captives just gave him a huge grin and said.
『Six Fingers!!』
The moment when they said that, every captives suddenly exploded from their inside, throwing organs at random direction while the gush of blood came out from their remaining parts spilling the grounds.
The very scene looked like a bloody massacred, which straight came out from horror movies.
But he wasn't budged by the scene at all, instead he was more puzzled by the fact that the captives were just a sacrificial pawns from the start, and their last word as well....
'Six Fingers'.
Without even wasting any time, he relay the message for a meeting to every Towns and Villages, Heads, via group video call.
After that, he shut himself into his room, rammed through his computer searching through records files of past, in hopes of finding about 'Six Fingers', mystery.
To which, he did find it but only 1 file...
When he open it, his curiosity only piqued upon seeing it.
What he saw was a report of 1,000 years back war with some photos attached on it.
Report said; 11th Guardian was fatally injured in battle, and 12th Guardian was killed and when they retrieve his body they found out that his right hand fingers were all missing along with his left hand index finger.
In total Six Fingers were missing.
After the battle, 11th Gaudian was in coma for rest of his life so he couldn't provide any information.
The first photo of report was, 12th Guardian both hands and from the looks of it, it looked like the ones who did this used very sharp weapon to cut his fingers clean off.
Upon further reading the report, President(Rhuko), found out, among 32 satellites which was sent by the Mech-Country from past generations.
Among all satellites one was able to take some pictures, however.., all the picture were useless expect for one picture which stood out the most and it was the picture of aftermath of the battle.
When he looked at it, he saw 12th Guardian, was on his back laying on the ground and on his right side there was a broken weapon, or machine which was producing black smoke.
And there was silhouetted of Six Figures behind the smoke, and it was hard to make out their genders.
And after that, for a whole week he scrambled through all the records files for more clues about 'Six Fingers'.
But to no avail, he didn't find any....
And here he was at the conference room without any proper sleep, even the dark circles form under his eyes.
But he couldn't care less for his sleep, when war was near.
Even though he was frantic, he was able to remain calm in front of everybody, and puts the piece of metal on the desk.
From it's center a small white light illuminated and created a glitchy silhouette.
「Greetings. My name is, Ruiyuko. Some of you might know me as 'Ancient Demon Lord', or 'The First Demon Lord'. Anyways, let me get to the point. Till you receive my message, my army already began advancing towards the fortress of the West Side borderline, they'll be there within 1 week time waiting for my command to lunch the attack. Prepare your best, Soldiers, and Warriors. I, Ruiyuko, wishes you good luck for the war. And yeah, Mr.Guardian, is fine and well in my sweet prison but I wonder for how long...?」< Ruiyuko >
When the message ended and the glitchy silhouette disappeared. Everyone in the room gulped their own saliva while looking each other distraught faces.
「...So...Any recommendation..?」< Rhuko >
But then, President, broke the silent by asking for their suggestions while crossing his arms.
President, knew very well that as a leader, he have to listen to their suggestions carefully and had to come with plausible conclusion with everybody to maintain a healthy relationship.
And sometimes, useless suggestions was inevitable for him to dodge...
「...Let's ask for backup from other lands...!」
「I deny. The first reason is; our continent is isolated one, just like: Kiran-Land, Mist-Land, or, Libertas-Land are. My second reason is; even if we ask for backup, it will take time to reach here from over the seas. And my third reason is; because of the massive earthquake which occurred 5 years ago and shook the whole world, cause of that, Monsters and Demons, got more active than before and also there's a high chance of war will happen in every continents in near future, so they're also preparing for the worst...」< Rhuko >
「....How about we hire peoples from the Guilds, then..?」< Lily >
「I guess, we can do that...」< Rhuko >
「...What about civilians?!」
「We'll have them move into, Mech-City, which will be safe and furthest place from the battlefield, and can return to their place again after the war.」< Rhuko >

After talking for some while about other minor issues, they concluded their meeting.
As for, President, he was worried about, Jim, and having anxiety about the war....
