Although June thought that it was a troublesome task, he racked his brain for an idea.
A few minutes later, June stood up and went towards the exhausted Boa and asked shyly, “Father.. Can I have some water?”
Boa stopped his meditation and asked, “What for?” June shyly smiled, “Cultivation! Can you create a fire for me too please?”
Boa sighed as he stood up because he did not feel well. A jug of water instantly appeared on his hands. He gave the water to June and then walk towards the spot June was at earlier. He then proceeded to create a small fire with some dry wood.
After he finished his task, Boa went back to meditating. Sweat was still permeating from his body. Clearly, something was wrong, but June hadn’t noticed as he was occupied with cultivation.
June looked at the picture of the symbol on the first page. He guessed that it was the symbol he had to draw. With a 5 cm stick, he began to draw the Yin and Yang symbol. When he didn’t remember the symbol, he would look at it again and continue to draw.
An hour passed quickly. June had finished drawing the Yin and Yang symbol on the ground but he was sweating profusely. ‘Drawing this symbol was too exhausting. It’s just a drawing.. why did it make me so tired?’ June thought.
Even if he was very tired physically, his spirit was still active and excited because of the thought of being able to cultivate. June pushed his exhausted body to the fire and began to spread it on the south side of the Yin and Yang symbol. Next, he poured the water in the jug on the north side.
The two elements formed the Yin and Yang symbol. After being formed, the element’s physical forms disappeared. June was surprised, the elements had suddenly turned into spiritual forms. The bottom side was a dark red, while the north side was a sky blue color. Together, they made a blue and red Yin and Yang symbol.
June took a step back at first, but then stepped back into the symbol and sat down.
He read the next passage of the book in his head once again for the next steps.
“When the symbol is completed, it will turn into a spiritual form of Qi. Sit down in the middle and start concentrating on absorbing the elemental Qi that the symbol gives. Before absorbing, you must remember the path of balance! To absorb, you must feel the threads of Qi emitting from the symbol and world. Inhale the threads of Qi and circulate them towards your dantian.”
June excitedly closed his eyes to meditate. After a few minutes, he had finally felt the threads of Qi.
“To circulate Qi, you must let them flow through your meridians. You have twelve major meridians! Six from Yang and Six from Yin. The six Yang meridians; The stomach, small intestine, Bladder, Gall Bladder, Triple warmer, and the large intestines. The six Yin meridians: The heart, spleen, pericardium, lung, liver, and the kidney.”

June’s head started to hurt. ‘Spleen? Pericardium? Gall Bladder? Small and large intestines? Kidney? What are those?’ he asked himself.
Of course, as a six year old, June’s knowledge of the body was limited. Luckily for him, what he read next were about parts that he knew of. Although it was basic knowledge, at least he knew of them.
“First, start with your heart! As a Yin meridian, the heart associates with water, wind, and darkness. Control the threads of Yin elemental Qi towards the heart. Next, hold the Qi in your heart and start moving the other Elemental Qi towards your stomach.”
The threads of water QI started to move towards June’s chest with his will. After the Qi encompassed the heart, June felt a cold but soothing sensation in his mind and body. When the Qi was absorbed by his heart, June felt a change. An emotional change.
June was very nervous and excited before his heart absorbed the water Qi. After the absorption, June turned calm, a profound calm that he himself couldn’t understand.
The past June would have been very surprised but the June now was very calm as he started the next step.
“The stomach is a Yang meridian. The Yang meridians associate with Fire, Earth, and Light. Do the same process as you did with your heart meridian.”
June followed what the book said and repeated the process. This time, he moved the Fire Qi thread towards the stomach. The Fire Qi entered his body and encompassed his stomach. A warm feeling sprouted from his lower half of the body. When the Fire Qi entered, June suddenly felt very hungry.
He wrinkled his eyebrows in pain as the hunger was unbearable as he called out in a weak voice, “Father..”
Boa quickly opened his eyes as he woke up from the state of meditation from June’s voice. “Food..” June called out weakly. Although Boa was exhausted, he went towards June. With a wave of his hand, many plates of well preserved food appeared. Boa worriedly fed June. Boa didn’t know what kind of cultivation technique was passed down to June so when he saw June in such a weak state, he was very worried. This was why Boa fed June food, despite being exhausted.
Boa stared at June in shock as the food in his hands kept disappearing. ‘Is his stomach and endless pit or what?’ he thought to himself.
June’s hunger was relieved after eating half of the food in Boa’s storage ring. Half of the food in Boa’s storage ring was three months worth of food and a six year old ate it all. This was truly surprising to Boa because he had never seen this happen before.
June burped in satisfaction as he went back to cultivating. “Thanks father!” he said as his eyes closed. Boa nodded his head as he went back to meditating.
(I do know that the Heart is actually connected with the Fire element but I have my own plans for it being connected to the water element.)
