Repeating an old habit of mine, i shook my head to bring myself out of the wonder.
The view really was something else, but, as with so many other things, after looking at it for a few seconds, i had grown bored.
Thus, as the ringing had come to a rather abrupt yet unnoticed end, i let my senses fall back to the ground just in time to notice a sound. A very alarming sound.
It began with a loud rusteling. Now that i think about, that rustle had been going on ever since the ringing had subsided.
I didnt take notice of it until the rustle changed to a scream. Or, well, a growl.
It sounded like something along the lines of:
”GGGOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUU”
Or something.
Rest assued, if i had a heart, i would have had a heart attack.
Following this scream i heard ”swooosh” and ”kling” sounds, as if something was going really fast through the air and if some metal something hit some something hard.
It was quite surreal, and i almost instinctivly knew what it was.
A battle.
I didnt know what was batteling what, but i assumed someone was batteling something with a sword, for whatever reason.
”GGOOOOOOOUUAAAR”
Another roar echoed and i heard trees falling.
Uhm. Doesnt that sound a bit closer then it was before?...
Kling clang battle sounds. Roar. Kling. Roar. Kling. Roar...
And each time, a little bit closer. I struggeled to keep my wits.
What was it? It could fell trees, was it a bear? It sounds humongous. Who the hell would willingly battle something that can fell trees.
A short moment of silence.
And then my question was answered.
From the other side of the clearing, a man erupted.
His face was young and handsome, yet it carried a dignified and somewhat rugged countenance. His hair was long and blond, glittering like gold in the faint dawn. His eyes were blue like deep wells.

On his chest he wore a thin breastplate that seemed as reflective as a mirror. On his back hung a bow, and in his hands he held a sword in his right and a dagger in his left.
Truth be told, very much unexpected.
He inched closer towards me with his eyes fixated on the bushes he had just left.
Soon i knew why.
”fan fan fan fan fan”
I could hear the man mutter as the bushes rustled.
From the bushed emerged a giant paw laced with claws the size of daggers, and most likely just as sharp. The paw itself was a dark, dusty red, almost like rust. From high above, i could see a head leaving the dark forest and entering the glade in search of (most likely) the man.
The head was covered in some sort of rust-coloured armor that allowed only the bright, golden glean of the eyes to penetrate.
I stopped dead in my stracks.
W-, what a frightening creature!
Soon the rest of its body left the comfort of the forest and entered the open glade.
The entire rust-red body was covered in that armour. In some places i could see the armour was adorned with gold, but that was all. Its body was gigantic, most likely more then three meters tall. It looked like a bear wearing armour.
However, it was terrifying.
Had it stared at me, im sure i would have shriveled up and died on the spot.
What stopd out about it was a deep, crimson cut running along its chest. From there the blood of the bear leaked in humoungous quantities. I sure was happy it wasnt me it was growling at.
Any other situation wherein a human was present i would have presented myself, however, this was no such situation.
After a few seconds of glaring at eachother, the bear roared and the man jumped back a fair bit, sword raised and dagger at the ready. As he did so, he saw me.
Im not sure how, but he had jumped further then i thought and landed right beside my defenceless little body.
At first, he just stared. Then, he screamed. Following that, he ran as far away from me as he possibly could.
Hm.
That was rather strange.
Whilst following the fleeing mans shape dissappear into the forst, i failed to notice the bear closing in on me.
Ah.
Yes, you exist, dont you?
The bear stared at me for a second before promptly roaring and flinging his arm at me.
It didnt reach.
Instead, he fell before me, phanting deeply whilst all the blood that was previously inside of him poured out.
Poor thing.
The red blood dyed both the White Sips and myself in that rust-red colour, and i could help but feel a twinge of sympathy. If he was left here, he would no doubt bleed out and die a slow and painfull death.
...Lets help him out.
As he lay there phanting, i released my control of both sense roots snd instead used my root control to allow three or four roots to slither around his neck like a noose. At first i thought he would object and thrash about, but it seems he had no objections.
It took some time to absorb the thick armour that covered his neck, but once that was done, i was able to quickly and painfully sever his neck. It may sound gruesome, but as my optical root wasnt looking, i didnt need to care.
