Wrath of the benevolent
Light starts to shine

Light starts to shine

Seeing the fragile child fall to the ground out of exhaustion with his hands full of blisters Cedric quickly examines Elaric and notices his veins being exhausted.

"My god! How hard did Master push him for the child to push himself to such an extent?!"

After giving Elaric holy water Cedric heads to confront his master about the situation.

Not finding Drytan in his office he heads towards Drytan's training grounds, "Master, I am sorry to interrupt your training but I have something important to discuss."

Seeing the otherwise composed Cedric showing rage on his face Drytan quickly halts his training.

"What happened Cedric?"

"It is about Elaric master. I know how restless you are to fight against the demons due to what happened to Miss Seraphine but how could you push a child to such an extent Master? While other children of his age are playing around as children should he is here to train."

"While it was a pity, It was our only way of fighting against demons so I understood the situation but why did you have to threaten the child to such an extent that he pushed himself until he fainted?!"

Perplexed by Cedric's accusation Drytan doesn't know what to say, "What? He trained that hard. I didn't know a five-year-old would be so attached to his parents."

"What kind of ungrateful child would not work to the bone when they are threatened that their parents would be killed!!!"

"What are you talking about Cedric? I never threatened to kill his parents. I only told him that he would meet his parents after he finishes segments of his training."

Baffeled by Drytan's reply, "My apologies sir but are you implying he worked that hard just so he could meet his parents?"

"I am not implying, I am stating that such is the case. Are all children this attached to their parents, Cedric?"

"No sir, Children of his age would rather be complaining and crying about their situation and rightfully so. This child is very attached to his parents and is mature enough to do what he can rather than complain about his situation."

Feeling sorry for Elaric, "I didn't expect him to push himself to such an extent. Cedric, Tell him that he can meet his parents after mastering the basics of each weapon rather than each segment."

"I shall do that Master."

Cedric returns to Elaric's chamber to check up on him.

"Cedric has always been kind hearted but he became so enraged due to the misunderstanding that he raised his voice against me. It seems Cedric's attachment to the boy might hinder my plans."

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Opening his eyes under an unfamiliar ceiling Elaric wakes up and notices a grand four-poster bed with richly embroidered drapes in deep hues.

A tall arched window offers a view of the grounds, framed by heavy curtains that can be drawn for privacy. A writing desk near the window is well-stocked with parchment and ink. The room is softly lit by candles and lanterns, with a faint scent of pine and old books in the air.

Elaric for the first time since his arrival in the world of Gehenna sees books.

Delighted by seeing something familiar he tries to get up but feels a sharp pain throughout his body especially his veins.

Hearing a soft creak Elaric turns his head to the door to see Cedric with breakfast in his hands.

"Good morning young master, How are you feeling?"

He hears to open the curtains letting in rays of light. "Well I feel a sharp pain in all my limbs but I am awake now so I guess better."

Amused by Elaric's reply Cedric gives him the good news, "Young master I am here to notify you that seeing how attached you are to your parents Master has given you permission to Mr. and Mrs. Weaver every time you master a weapon."

"Huh? But he just said I could do so every other segment why the sudden change."

"Well, He didn't know you would push yourself to such extents just to meet your parents when you just arrived here yesterday so he felt guilty."

Hearing this Elaric started contemplating about how he already mastered a form of the spear with in a day so at this rate he would probably master the basics within at most 2 weeks.

Fearing that him meeting his parents every two weeks would make it harder for him to fully focus on the training which is a must for him to fulfill his mission.

Thinking about what excuses he should give to Cedric for him to not visit his parents every other week he finally finds an answer, "I would like to reject this arrangement sir. I would much rather prefer the previous arrangement."

Shocked by such an unexpected answer, "But why young master, Didn't you work this hard so you could meet them?"

"No sir, While I was doing that for my parents I did not do so because I wanted to meet them."

"I did it because just being noticed by the Viscount improved my family's situation by an amazing amount so I just thought that impressing the Viscount would improve it further."

"All right then I will tell master of this. But do not push yourself so hard that you faint. You are feeling more pain in your veins correct? This is because while mana is stored around your stomach your veins and heart are the ones that transport mana throughout your body similar to blood."

"So the quality of your veins matter more than your mana capacity and training this harshly might end up rupturing them."

"Do not rush yourself, you are already very ahead of the majority. Even those who awaken at 8 years old are considered geniuses and even they take a few weeks to master the basics let alone engulfing their weapons in aura."

Thinking about whether or not he should tell the truth Elaric decides to go ahead and tell the truth since he has to train under him anyway.

"Yes sir, I will be sure to train in moderation. But I have already mastered both the basic form and engulfing my weapon in mana."

His common sense breaking down Cedric barely remains composed. "I see... I will first have to notify this to Master as this is a very rare phenomenon until then go to the training ground and run 20 laps or as much as you can since you just recovered."

"This will be your room from now on. Your meals will be provided by maids in the morning and night. You can also just ask what you want to the maids. There are a few clothes in the closet but if they do not fit you I can call for a tailor."

"Understood sir. I will head there after finishing my meal."

Cedric heads to Drytan's office still processing the words from Elaric with his eyes out of focus.

Seeing such a big plate of food with such huge portion of meat for the first time his mouth starts to salivate. Taking up a huge portion of meat with spoon made up of steel he eats it all in one huge gulp.

The taste feeling not better than his mom's cooking, with tears in his eyes, "So, This is what being home sick feels like huh. Just a few months Rex a few months."
