Wrath of the benevolent
A Glimpse of Destiny

A Glimpse of Destiny

Elaric notes to himself how commoners are treated in this world after seeing how the priest is among the kinder ones. Solidifying his belief about this world needing light still naive about the darkness that the world has been engulfed in.

Moving into the new house Rex becomes aware of his surroundings noticing the huge courtyard along with tall walls surrounding the fully furnished house and how much better is it compared to their previous hutt of a house. "So this is why the Priest took so long to return huh."

"They are investing quite a bit for a future soldier. I guess for a medieval world it is common to invest in soldiers early on. I will surely need to go fight on the frontlines in the future since I can't run away from the battlefield might as well receive benefits from now."

Being able to worry about starvation his parents hug him tightly.

"Thank you for coming into our life, son.!"

Being happy about his new parents and not having to starve unlike his previous life Rex becomes more resolute about becoming stronger and continues his training.

1 year later:

Rex is finally able to cover both of his hands in light. Hearing the footsteps of his mother Rex quickly pretends to fall asleep. "Elaric my dear are pretending to fall asleep again? What are you hiding from mom?"

'Nothing Mom. Has father returned from the forest?" Not knowing the rules of using powers in this world Rex has been hiding his powers all along.

"Trying to avoid my questions already. Fine, I won't pry, your father has returned go greet him."

Thinking to herself that her son is a genius Elowen doesn't try to pry any further.

"Welcome back father!" Rex jumps into his father's arms. "What did you bring today?"

"Haha you are more interested in good than your father, aren't you? I brought your favorite wild boar. Go sit down Mom and I will prepare it."

Rex feeling the pure unconditional love of his family spends his days spending time with them while not skipping his self-imposed training as now he is more bent on getting stronger since he wants to protect his family.

A few years pass by when Priest Fenric comes to visit the Weaver family.

"Hello is anyone home."

Elowen comes out of the house to greet the unexpected guest.

" Oh! Priest Fenric, Welcome, would you like to have anything?"

"No Mrs.Elowen but thank you for asking. I am here to check up on Elaric as now he is of age to start learning about magic. Where is he, Can I meet him?"

Stolen novel; please report.

"Magic but Priest Fenric is just 5 years old how can he join the magic academy now?"

"Oh, Mrs.Weaver My apologies for not explaining beforehand. It is true to enter the academy he needs to be at least 16 but there students are taught how to use their better but for that, they need to learn magic first. It takes at average a decade for children to materialize their magic outside their body so if the academy had to teach magic from the beginning it would be highly inefficient."

"So, Nobles begin their children's education early on and Elaric is right around that age. Oh, and you need not worry about the expenses the viscount has said that he will cover all expenses. As I said before he values talent. Can I see him now?"

Rex who has been listening to the conversation comes forward.

"Greetings Priest Fenric."

"How do you know my name Elaric I don't think we have met after the day you were born?"

"No, we have not. My parents have mentioned you a lot and I have always wanted to meet you but due to my weak physique I have been unable to."

Since Rex spends most of his time training he is tired throughout the day and he never really feels curious about the world outside his house's courtyard since he only wants to spend his time with his parents.

"You have taught your son well Miss Elowen.

Even some children of nobility aren't this polite. I need to check Elaric's mana to see if we can start his education or if we need to do it later but don't worry if it's the latter since even those who start their education a few years late are considered talented."

Since he is of commoner's blood it would be amazing if he could just cover his hand in light.

As he touches his palm on Elaric's head he feels a tremendous amount of mana within the boy's body. Fenric stumbles on the ground as he cannot comprehend the situation.

"Who is this child?! He cannot possibly be of commoner's blood but he resembles his parents too much for him to be a bastard child! He is just 5 years old so how can he already have such amounts of mana!"

Picking himself up Fenric asks, "Child can you perhaps bring light outside your body?"

Rex hesitant to answer the question thinks about lying but since the priest wouldn't ask such a question without figuring something out he thinks about telling the truth and seeing his reaction it might not be a bad thing.

" Yes..." answers Ray in a soft voice still not sure of what the consequences might be.

"Can you please show it to me?"

Elaric puts out his hand collecting light in his palm and then releases it outside his hand.

Fenric loses his mind as only the second prince is the only one who has ever achieved such a feat and the only one who has achieved such a feat was the hero of the ancient era Eryndor Starbane.

Composing himself as he has failed to maintain his dignity in front of the child since he always is shocked right down to his core.

While Fenric is one of the stronger priests he is still far too weak to teach a child of such potential and since he thought in the best case scenario he might be able to start teaching the child the basics of magic but since Elaric has already mastered the basics and can even exert his energy Fenric feels the need to hire another instructor.

"It seems that your son is more than ready for his studies. Originally I was the one who was going to teach him the basics but I am far too underqualified to teach your son anything. So, I will first go meet with Viscount Drytan to arrange an instructor for him. It seems that whenever I come to meet you I always need to visit Viscount." with a smile that seems oddly fake Fenric starts heading to Viscount Drytan's Estate.

"So I was amazing enough for the priest to lose his composure huh? But how strong am I exactly after he is only a Priest of a viscounty so it is highly possible that I am merely slightly more talented than the rest. Well, Only the future can tell but I need to start learning more about this world. I was too engrossed in spending time with my family. If I want to maintain such peace I will need to grow far stronger and wiser regarding the ins and outs of this world."
