Wolf and Orphan
There's another pup

There's another pup

Small pieces of wooden flamed debris flowed down when the building's upper structure collapsed. It was continuously scorching the fur of the two imprisoned creatures. It has now gotten too much for the two of them. The beast discovered a huge, narrow crevice while holding himself on the wall. It was too small for the bear beast to escape, but it was perfect for the wolf.

“Hey. I need you to assemble your head for a second.” The beast caressed the wolf's face with his two hefty thumbs, causing her to drift in and out of unconsciousness. “Take a look right here. There's a gap that will lead you to the hallway exit. I'm going to raise the beam.” The wolf's vision was becoming fuzzy. She didn't comprehend a little of what he was saying to her, but she knew what he was attempting to do. “Are you paying any attention? I'm going to get it right now… you will need… To crawl hastily so that I can find a way out.”

The bear beast lifted the ceiling beam and the wreckage on top of it along with a single powerful roar. He had no idea how heavy that truly was. He felt his body give way, and without waiting even a second for the wolf to rise, he lifted the beam higher within his back, laying the searing beam on his shoulder. He grabbed her arm and hurled her to the other side, which didn't appear to be going up in flames at the time.

He withdrew the beam from his shoulder, however, he couldn't hold the weight for much longer, thus he tossed the structure behind him and bolted. As a result, the entire opposite half of the top building structure, where the wolf was at the time, collapsed as well. He was willing to sustain the wreckage from harming the beast by using himself as a shield.

They were caved in yet again. Fortunately, the exit was now much closer. Returning to her senses, the wolf placed her hands on the beast's head, vigorously shaking him, but he refused to open his eyes. The force might have been enough to kill the bear beast instantaneously. When it came to combat, they were recognized to have the best defense. He was quite young to die at such a young age.

She snagged the shirt which had been draped around her before and positioned it over her snout, filtering out as many airborne particles as possible. She began slithering under the beast, around some rubble, with barely enough strength. She was almost out, having spent almost the entire time cycling to herself, what it would look like outside this hellhole with the fight that has been happening.

Her hand felt cold and mushy as she extended her arm out. Choking noises were heard on the other side of her. Facing the unusual sound, she saw the useless human nurse crying on her knees while clutching her shoulder. Her arm was severed, and she was suffocating from the smoke as if she had been poisoned. Remembering what she was touching seconds before, she dragged it towards her.

The wolf only glanced at her; she seemed to have a chance to run away, but why was she barricaded here, with her? “How did you end up here?” The wolf whimpered, her throat kept getting constricted by the smoke, that she inhaled.

The nurse remained silent. She was more taken aback than the wolf was. The wolf repeated herself but received no response. The nurse screamed from the sheer terror, of having her arm tossed towards her. The wolf knew the armless nurse needed it for her moral support. That nurse merely stayed fixated on the wall, as if she didn't give a shit what whacked her in the head.

Turning around, she could only conjecture on what transpired between the time they evacuated and the fire started. Who was it that did this to her? She questioned herself, but the only person who sprang to mind was the crazed watchman. The echo of her dying men vibrated all over the hallways of her previous slaughter. She was killing her teammates with a terrifying weapon like that.

Pausing, she recovered her breath and bellowed. Her fur was standing on edge. She was in the same pain as when she gave birth to her child. She couldn't believe what was going on right now. There was another puppy. She was expecting another baby! The agony was worse than before, and she didn't know what to do in this circumstance.

This one was not willing to wait any longer. She was attempting to get out of the womb. This one was tremendous, much more so than its brother. Ignoring everything around her, the wolf inhaled a large puff of soot and bellowed as loudly as her physique would allow. The flames above her mocked her since her shriek didn't make much of a dent in the smoke.

She let out another yell, this time louder than the first, frustrated by everything that had transpired thus far. As a result, the flames spread out of what's left of the room. Unaware that her howl was louder than anything she'd done before, even louder than the day she was detained in front of the beast border. It enraged the beast, who battled outside the demolished structure. What the wolf had just howled for was death. She wanted to finish this now since she didn't have any power or air left in her.

Between her thighs and tail, she felt a soft, slimy lump. She scooped the crying infant and wrapped her arms around her daughter. The flames reappeared substantially bigger this time. Her eyesight began to distort as it became more difficult to breathe. She closed her eyes and rested her head on the ground. She crept away from the fire, grabbing anything she could.

She shifted her attention to her puppy. She was moving, but the flames were too loud for her cries to be heard. “We may rest for the time being, after we escape.” She muttered to herself. She slumped on top of her pup, gasping for oxygen. “Just not quite yet.”

She wandered blankly at the ruins. Her body slowly balled in on itself, unable to move. She remembered having a dream when she planned to move in with the prince. She had a good life, with several of her children and a partner, playing in the meadow with her. However, her dream was shattered by this reality.

Tears began to flow from her tear ducts after evaporating away from the heat. Her arms were still wrapped around her daughter. She assured herself that she was prepared to die as long as one of her babies was there. She couldn't forgive herself for abandoning the other to wander alone in this world.

She noticed the infant in her arms moving less and less until she was utterly still. “I apologize. I regret. You were born in this circumstance. It's unfair.” The wolf remained motionless, unable to construct another whimper, so allowing the flames to consume her body as well as her offspring.
