Logging out I feel light headed, the standard feeling I feel from getting out of the capsule. Looking up at the clock I notice its 6:00pm.
I grab the towel next to me and rub off the feeling of the gel. The gel leaves no residue but, the feeling of it is weird and so I ritualistically rub myself with my towel before dnning my clothes which I left on the bed.
I go to the living room and find that my dad is not home and probably still at work. I decide to call him in his mobile phone.
“Hello Alicia, what's the matter?” my father answers after the third dial tone.
“Hey dad, nothing’s wrong, I just met an unusual player in Wing’s to Tomorrow.”
“Oh unusual, please do tell.”
“There was an assassin called Ryan bragging in town about knowing of a quick method to reach level 50. The game hasn’t been out long enough for anyone to reach that level, so I challenged him to a duel and defeated him. Do you think you can find out if he used any kind of exploits?”
“If you duelled him, it shouldn’t be too hard to pull up his records, I’ll check right away and call you back. Anyway, how have you been enjoying yourself since it went live? Have you made any friends yet?”
“It’s quite fun, I’m playing as a blade dancer this time instead of a mage. I haven’t met anyone yet but, I’m thinking of heading over to where Vanessa is and partying with her for a while.”
“That’s good to hear, I’ll talk to you soon” we said our farewells over the phone and hung up.
Finishing the call I dialled Vanessa. If you receive a phone call whilst playing the game, you can connect to it in game. “Hello” Vanessa answered.
“Hey Ness, how have you been?”
“Ah Alicia, this game is great, better than you said. I travelled to Heaton like you suggested and visited the temple of Hecate. I’m an acolyte of Hecate now. I can heal and use basic illusion magic.”
“That’s awesome, a god related class is usually stronger than the average classes. I’m finished in Stormbridge, I will head over to you, where will you be?”
“Oh, I’m usually somewhere around the temple, if I’m not there you can ask someone.”
We spent the next hour talking about Wing’s to Tomorrow.
After the call concluded, I went to make dinner, clean up and took a bath.
While I was in the bath my dad called back and explained the issue with Ryan. It turns out that Ryan wasn’t really using any exploits. He was blessed by his Patron god, the goddess of revenge Nemesis.
Part of being blessed by nemesis means that as long as one isn’t under another god’s protection, he can kill a player or NPC without any repercussions as long as it is an act of revenge.
Ryan had been tricking NPC’s and players alike into bullying him, then using his stealth skill to sneak up behind them and executing them by decapitation. The experience earned for killing an NPC or player is much greater than that for killing a monster so he gained levels extremely quickly.
My dad also told me that since I had defeated Ryan in a duel, he is able to kill me whenever he wants in revenge. Guess I have to watch my back from now on.
Having relaxed and finding out the situation with Ryan, I logged back into the game.
I collected the tanned silver wolf hide from the tanners, and took it to the tailors.
“What would you like me to make with it?” the lady at the counter asked.
“I would like some boots that are easy to move around in which focus on appearance to go with my outfit.”
“Very well, come back in a couple hours and I will have them ready for you.”
I left the tailor and went to the general store to buy supplies for my trip to Heaton.
I bought a pot, ladle and a flint to let me cook food. I was tired of eating stale bread by this point, and since I have the cooking skill, why should I eat poorly. I also bought various herbs and spices, and some dried meat for if I can’t find ingredients whilst travelling.
After completing my purchases for the trip, I headed to the adventurer’s guild and looked at the job board. On the board was a flyer for protecting a caravan on its way to Heaton. It would be a two week trip.
Quest received: Protect the caravana group of merchants are heading to Heaton. There are bandits known to gather near the road. Protect the caravan on its way to Heaton. Meet up at the west gate tomorrow at 6:00am.

Reward: 5 silver
Failure: the caravan is robbed
I left the adventurer’s guild and walked around town stopping at a cafe for tea and cake. I love strawberry cheesecake and the effect of not gaining weight from eating in game is a god send.
After stuffing my face with cake I went to the tailor’s to pick up my boots.
“I did a fine job if I do say so myself” the tailor exclaimed. “These boots will increase your manoeuvrability slightly yet, at the same time make you look much more attractive.”
The tailor handed me the boots. The boots were a sparkling silver reaching up to my ankles. They reflected every ray of sunshine making them look dazzling to the eye. The boots were very light and the material was very soft.
Silver wolf ankle bootsDefence: 15 Durability 30/30
These boots were crafted with care from a silver wolf pelt. The silver pelt reflects light making them radiate a slight glow. Due to the rare silver pelt, the boots are soft and easy to move in without inhibiting defence.

I thank the tailor for the boots, and head to Cassandra’s for the night before leaving in the morning.
I meet up at the gate just prior to 6:00am and see a group of 3 covered wagons and 1 uncovered each with two horses pulling them, a group of 7 merchants, and another group of 5 adventurer’s.
I walk up to the group of merchant’s and greet them telling them I’m here for the protection quest.
“Welcome, I’m Raphael. The adventurer’s over there are the others who are coming. It looks like you are the last to arrive, we will be leaving shortly. You should get to know the others.” the richest looking merchant explained.
I walk over to the group of adventurers and introduce myself.
“Umm, hi” I timidly say. “I’m Elyssa, a level 10 blade dancer, nice to meet you all.”
“Hello Elyssa, I’m Zach level 12 mage specialising in lightning” a tall tanned man with medium length blue hair, hazel eyes. Zach wore a light blue robe with a hood which barely concealed his muscular physique. He held a wooden staff about 1.5 metres long which looked to be made from some old gnarled tree.
“Alex, level 8 Spearman” A young boy with short close cropped red hair said. His eyes were the same fire red as his hair, and he only stood to about 4’10” average height for someone of his age. He wore a brass breastplate, and leather pants holding a crude spear. The spear was about 1.8 metres long and had a small piece of iron on its tip. It looked more like a javelin than a spear. On his back he had a small round buckler made of wood and reinforced by iron.
“Maria, level 9 jongleur” said a beautiful blond haired woman with a radiant smile. She wore a simple red dress which went down to the ground, and held in her hands a small copper harp. She had the appearance of a model and had the bearing to warrant it.
“Ruby, level 7 cleric” said a timid girl. Her long smooth black hair covered most of her face reaching down to the small of her back. She wore a pure white dress of similar design to Maria’s, and held a brown leather bound tome in her hands.
“Archie, and as you can guess I’m a level 14 ranger” an old man with short grey hair and a grey beard stated with an exaggerated bow. He wore leather pants and a leather jerkin. On his back he had a quiver and a recurve bow.
After we finished our introductions we climbed onto the wagons and began our journey to Heaton.
