After breakfast, it was studying for the orphans. The priest himself would visit the orphanage to teach them the church’s religious beliefs. That would take an hour or so.
If the priest didn’t have a fearsome aura, the children would’ve long fallen asleep from the lecture. The priest is like the chief of the valley, holding the highest position. Furthermore, he had reached the Fifth Stage of the Physique Refinement Realm, making him one of the strongest in the valley as well. The fearsome aura he exude was not only within the children’s imagination. Even Aurri, whose mental age is more than seventeen years old, felt a bit intimidated.
Among all the students who seemed to be listening, only Aurri really cared about the lecture. What he finds annoying was that he couldn’t find any of the previous lectures in the original owner’s memories.
The food earlier didn’t taste that good…
Only such thoughts appeared during any prior lecture. In other words, the moment the lessons began, they would enter the original Aurri’s left ear and leave his right ear thereafter.
This kid… Aurri got a headache as none of the memories of the original owner have been of any use lately. However, without prior knowledge about the topic, Aurri didn’t know what to make of the lecture.
But when there were only ten minutes of the priest’s time, his topic suddenly changed into what took the children’s interest.
Bringing out a thick book from his bag and placing it on the front desk with respect, he began telling a story.
“Written on the first Gospel of the Holy Book was how Eimterra was created. Here, it tells us how the All-Knowing One, Caelum banished Demon Dagradok with the cost of breaking his Heavenly Staff. Its fragments flew in all directions, creating the stars we see in the night sky while its core stayed and became Eimterra. The remnant power of the core was enough to bestow life upon the dust that came together, creating the first Fairies.
After a long time had passed, the Fairies eventually grew lonely and created other races using the power of the core. They wanted to create intelligent beings that would entertain them, the Elves. However, their few attempts were failures but not failures at the same time. They created ordinary animals which greatly varied but it wasn’t intelligent. Then, they created the Beastkin, Arthroes, Azureblood, and Featherful but they don’t have enough magic. Then, they created the Indwellers but except for their core, they are purely made out of magic. Then, they created the Mosskins who are so ugly the Fairies forced them to hide in the dark. Finally, they created the Elvenkind which made the Fairies very happy. So happy, in fact, they accidentally created another race, Humanity.
Humans are not as beautiful as the Elvenkind, not as wild and ugly as the Mosskins, not as magical as the Indwellers, not as powerful as the Beastkin, Arthroes, Azureblood, or Featherful, and not as stupid as the ordinary animals. The Fairies didn’t think of Humanity that much but it was a human that first made contact with the All-Knowing One. Favored by Caelum, humans are the only ones who can have Ascension, becoming the target of envy of all other races, even the Fairies.
Envy is the primordial sin and what summoned the Demon Dagradok, tainting the beautiful world of Eimterra with its evil power. However, Caelum didn’t let the Demon succeed by baptizing the sunlight. From then on, demonic creatures and the Possessed only reveal themselves once the sun sets.” the priest then glanced at Aurri, “If you set out in the dark or away from the Church’s light during the night, you will encounter a demonic creature or a Possessed or even a Ghost.”
Upon the mention of the word “Ghost”, many went pale. Meanwhile, Aurri was more focused on the possibility that the priest suddenly mentioned the Gospel may be because of him.
But ghosts exist here, huh? Wow…
Aurri was genuinely surprised. Unlike the paranormal stories back on Earth, magic does exist here on Eimterra.
After dying and meeting with the Ascended, Aurri was more willing to believe that the story about the Caelum and Dagradok is real.
Is the Demon that killed me Dagradok…?
Aurri had no way of knowing yet.
After the priest left the room, Nun Juji greeted the priest with her hands clasped together and fingers interlocked before entering the room. Her tired eyes then cast a glance on Aurri. She then sighed.
Nun Juji has never spoken about Aurri being a Heaven-Blessed.
The class then ended when it was noon. Aurri met up with Luca again for lunch but then noticed his pale expression.
Before, Aurri could ask, Luca did first.
“Aurri, d-do you think Ghosts exist?” he trembled as he grasped his long red hair towards his face.
Oh, he was still thinking about that. Aurri thought before honestly replying.
“Yeah, I think so.”
“...”
“But what’s so scary about them? I’ll beat them up when I see them!”
Aurri said mindlessly. But unknown to him, Luca saw some semblance of security in him. No other children could confidently say what Aurri just said.
Seeing Luca this scared, Aurri searched in his memories for what Ghosts exactly are in this world. What he found was…
They are super scary!
Aurri couldn’t help but palm his face. Afterward, the two had lunch and after a bit of rest, it was time for the kids to help with the orphanage.

They would help clean, do the laundry, wash the dishes, etc. Some would go and entertain the elderlies in the retirement home, volunteer around the valley, and so on.
This is also their way of making connections with the people in the valley, not just contributions. Some would get adopted because of this and that’s why children rarely slack off to this.
However, Aurri couldn’t care less and wanted to go out in the fields. Hearing this, Luca wanted to go with him but thinking of ghosts and stuff, he suggested that he would take Aurri’s task for the day so that Aurri can go out.
“Okay! I’ll return this favor tomorrow!” Aurri put up a thumbs up, making Luca grin and giggle.
“Sure!”
Aurri then sneaked out and got to the fields. The reason why he wants to be here was for privacy and the open area.
After looking that he is indeed alone and that it would be some time before the sun sets, he went under a tree for shade and closed his eyes.
It took him some time before he entered a trance, increasing his focus. The slightest blow of wind, warmth from the surrounding, and his own breathing was felt.
Soul Sense.
Aurri opened his eyes again but even before he did so, he felt like he could see from his newly-formed sixth sense.
What he sensed filled him with awe. Without knowing to describe it, Aurri could sense a natural flow of energy around him. The air has it, the trees have it, and even the bugs share some of it.
Each of them either has a different flow, different energy, or both. The wind has different energy from the bugs and the trees while these two have different flows of energy when compared to each other.
When Aurri focused on a bug, discerning each thread of its energy flow, he received a headache, disrupting his focus.
“Haa…” he huffed.
That was exhausting! Aurri wiped the sweat dripping from his forehead. However, even with fatigue all over his body, excitement was a more prominent feeling.
That was magic!
Aurri clenched his fist while his lips formed a wide smile, “Bwahahahaha!!” a manic laugh burst out of him.
It took him some time before he could calm himself.
I still don’t know the use of Soul Sense but being able to use something that’s out of the world is exhilarating! Aurri grinned.
Aurri didn’t originally come from this world, after all. He came from Earth, where magic is considered either a myth or fiction.
“If Rae is here with me, he’s definitely gonna go wild.”
Rae is a member of the Megalos and one of Aurri’s closest friends. He considers him, Olly, and the others the Generals of Megalos.
Rae, in particular, is obsessed with the supernatural and the like. He was the hardcore otaku of the group and had gone through a phase where he would act like he was the main character of an anime.
Whenever that topic would come up, he would cover his face which is as red as a tomato. Because of Rae, Aurri came to like anime, movies, light novels, and such as well. Their conversation sometimes would leave others hanging and they would continue on and on, forcing others to watch or read something.
They would share the joy when Olly, Charles, or Jason came to like what they recommended. Sometimes, the other three would even join the topic on who’s the best waifu…
Aurri revealed a bittersweet smile. He really missed his friends even though a day had just passed. However, he was unsure if he will meet them again so soon.
“Ah, maybe I should write my memories later.” he cringed a little upon saying that to himself.
It’s a bit embarrassing to actually write down his memories with his friends. If Olly and the others learned this, they would endlessly tease him for being such a sweetheart. However, right now, Aurri’s greatest fear is to forget his original life.
Just like the Ascended said, he would have to spend a whole life in that world. That life may become longer than his original world and eventually, this may become his ‘original’ life. That’s why he have to write them down while all his memories were as clear as day.
But that’s for later, right now, Aurri is experimenting with the powers he received.
“Hmm… the figure didn’t tell me what’s the name of the second power,” Aurri felt he should name this power and since it’s similar to a concept back on Earth, he decided on the name, “Quantum Leaping!”
Once he named the power, Aurri began activating it. At the next moment, drowsiness invaded his system and his legs lost control, making his head hit the tree trunk behind him.
“Gah!” Aurri curled up as he held his head. With the throbbing pain, the sleepiness disappeared.
“Was I about to fall asleep there?” he asked himself “So I can only enter my other bodies once I’m in a dream state? I guess I should try it once it’s bedtime.” Aurri could only assume for now.
Thinking about it, it’s logical. If he’s going to visit another body, doesn’t that mean that his consciousness is going to leave this body?
Putting aside Quantum Leaping for later, Aurri now got to his favorite power. He already has a name for this: Super Luck!
The Ascended figure said that all should be equal no matter how chaotic reality is. With that logic, when he was killed by the Demon, that was some massive bad luck. Even the figure said that, in exchange, Aurri’s luck should be tremendous. Although the Ascendeds only got a fragment of it, it still should be massive, right?
Without hesitation, Aurri used all the Super Luck in one go!
“GOOO—!!!” he raised his hands and shouted.
Thud* suddenly a book appeared in front of him and fell onto the grassy ground.
“...” Aurri blinked a few times upon seeing the small book that can fit in his pocket. A hint of disappointment flashed on his face. He looked around and nothing else happened anymore. Did he already luck out?
That’s it? When Aurri picked up the book, a girl’s cries entered his ears.
[No!! Mommy, Daddy! I don’t want this!!]
Aurri was startled and looked around but it didn’t seem like the girl’s cries from somewhere instead, it was in his head.
[Hey, you! Put me down this instant! I can’t believe the moment the Overlord Scripture activated, some flea would pick it up! Mommy!!]
The girl continued to cry.
“You’re… in the book?” Aurri asked, stupefied.
[No, you stinking idiot bug! How can you be so stupid, geez! I’m not in the mood! How dare a mortal like you even talk to me! How can I be in the book?! Can I fit in here!? Arghh! I hate this!! Daddy!!]
Aurri’s eyelids lowered as a nerve popped out of his forehead. The girl sounded like the most pompous kid he had ever heard throwing a tantrum.
“What an annoying kid…”
[Haahh!??? Annoying?? Do you even know who you are talking to!?]
The girl’s voice paused as if she began inspecting him God knows how.
[W-what!? How can this be!? Even the little bugs I step on are stronger than you! You’re not even qualified to be called trash! How can a person be so weak that they haven’t even entered Ascension!?]
“Waa… so much yapping…” Aurri wanted to cover his ears but he knows that wouldn’t work when this girl’s voice directly enters his head.
[Y-y-yapping!? Do you know who you’re talking to!? So much disrespect from a mortal, this is not happening to me! Who’s your creator!? Since my starter world is Eimterra, Is it Caelum!? I’ll slap that bastard once I overcame the Overlord Scripture’s Trial for having his creation be so arrogant! Even he lowers his head to me, yet this little- wait! Wait! What are you going to do with that!?]
“Ah?” Aurri was just picking his nose, not listening to all the shouting, “It was itchy. Geez, what’s there to shout? Annoying.”
[Itchy? … why would the inside of your nose be itchy?] the voice toned down due to curiosity.
“I don’t know, maybe it’s a booger or something.”
[Booger? What’s that?]
Aurri’s jaw almost dropped.
She doesn’t know what a booger is? I don’t think she’s playing dumb…
“Wait, I’ll show you,” Aurri then got into action while the book (the girl) stared at him in silence, feeling that his actions are kinda gross.
After he was done, Aurri revealed his work, “Tis’ a booger.” he eloquently said.
[That’s… a booger?]
Aurri just nodded and flicked it away, “Seriously, how is this lucky? I just got a loud pompous book that doesn’t know what a booger is.”
Unexpectedly, he didn’t hear a retort.
“Hm? Hello? Idiot girl in the book, hello?”
There was still no reply.
