As a hospital, receiving complaints from a patient’s family was a common occurrence. There would be times where a parent who would angrily complain why their child had died even though they were already in a hospital. Though medicine can heal people, it can only so much until it reaches its limits. One day, on a busy day, the girl with white eyes asked if she could help within the hospital. Since they needed the hands, the doctor’s thought that it wouldn’t be bad. And so, they dressed her up with a nurse’s outfit and she was assigned with a senior nurse in bringing medicine to the patients. Though it wasn’t bad, one of the old doctors began to worry about her. He began talking about scenarios on what the people’s reaction would be if they saw her eyes. As a solution, she wore shades over her eyes and helped carry the bag of medicines.

They visited room after room, giving the prescribed medicine to the patients there. As they reached a certain room, they felt the stares looking towards them. Inside the room was the patient’s family. They looked at the two as if they were staring with hostility hidden. The girl and the senior nurse began to worry, but a job is a job. They approached the patient which was an old wrinkly man. As the senior nurse injects the old wrinkly man with a syringe, the old wrinkly man looked at the girl. The girl became restless as the old wrinkly man stared at her. As the girl’s eyes met with his, the old wrinkly man’s eyes widened. He began to twitch and convulse, a scenario that too common to not know. Fearing for the worse, the senior nurse ordered the girl to call the doctors. Though she was surprised, the girl nodded and ran out of the room.

A few moments later, a doctor was now in the room. The family began to weep as the doctor told the senior nurse what time it was. The old wrinkly man had died and the nurse was writing the essential details about the old wrinkly man’s death. Meanwhile, the girl was standing by the door. She was sad to know that even though she had gotten a doctor, she was still too late to save the old wrinkly man. Just then, a child came by and took her shades. The girl’s eyes were revealed and the child grew scared. The child shouted in fear and everyone’s attention were moved towards the girl. The girl with white eyes saw many expressions. The doctor and nurse had a worried look while the patient’s family were having fear within their faces. An old woman, as wrinkly as the old wrinkly man that had died, began to shout at the girl with white eyes. She began saying that the girl had cursed the old wrinkly man and was the reason for why the old wrinkly man had died. Of course, it was all superstition and the doctor began to ask the old woman to calm down. But even though it was hard to believe, the family members looked at the girl with white eyes scornfully. Not knowing how to react, the girl with white eyes only stood there. She felt her body tremble in fear as she was being stared at. Not wanting to receive such looks, the girl with white eyes ran outside the room. She ran through the hallways and looked down as she ran. She didn’t want others to see her white eyes, she didn’t want to see the type of faces the family members had earlier. As she passed through patients and doctors, an old doctor noticed her and waved his hand. But the old doctor’s greeting was not noticed as the girl passes by him and continued running. Knowing that something was wrong, the old doctor began to follow the girl.

Inside her room, the girl with white eyes sunk her head inside the pillow. She was crying. Her clothes were now her common clothes and the nurse’s outfit that she had worn was thrown at the sides. As the girl continued to cry, a knocking sound was made at the door. The girl became worried on who it might be. She changed her position and sat at the bed. She held the pillow close to her body and gestured that the person may enter. As soon as she finished, the door opened and there the old doctor entered. The girl’s worries grew, will she get scolded, is the doctor mad, such thoughts appeared within her head. The old doctor walked towards her and took a seat beside her bed. The old doctor began asking on why the girl was crying. The girl with white eyes began to tear up and her heart was opened. She was honest with her answers and the old doctor listened carefully. After the story had been told, the old doctor told her to rest and not to worry. The old doctor waved his hand goodbye and the girl with white eyes nodded in reply.

After visiting her room, the old doctor headed back towards the lounge. He asked if they had seen the senior nurse and if they knew where the person might be. A nurse answered and the doctor quickly went to the location. At the hospital’s waiting room, there the senior nurse stood. The old doctor approached the senior nurse and began asking what had happened before the time the girl with white eyes left. The senior nurse made a sad reaction and began talking to the old doctor. The old doctor now understood the story. As the old doctor leaves the senior nurse to her job, inside he was furious. For the girl with white eyes to experience such tragic story was unforgivable. But the old doctor didn’t know what to do. For the meantime, the old doctor headed towards the room where the incident took place. There the sheets of the bed were clean and the said patient had now gone to the morgue. The family members were still found inside, cleaning up the remaining items the patients had left. One of the family members asked the old doctor why he was there. The old doctor answered and the family members heard. They began making difficult expression, they differ from person to person. The old doctor noticed that some were mad while some were sad. The old doctor again told the story and asked if he could meet the old woman. Beside the bed the family members pointed, and there an old woman sat. The old woman had a concerned look as she looked at the old doctor. The old doctor asked her why she had done such actions towards the girl. The old woman hesitated for a moment but began to speak. The old woman didn’t know why she had done it. She spoke saying that her heart was confused when she had found out that the old wrinkly man had died. Not knowing what to do, the old woman heard a scream and there she saw the girl with white eyes. The old woman was surprised and due to how irregular the girl’s eyes were and how her appearance differed from a normal person, the old woman blamed her for the old wrinkly man’s death. After hearing the old woman’s story, the old doctor sighed. This time, the old doctor began telling a small story about the girl. How she had no family, friends, relatives, and that she was colorblind. The old woman’s heart ached after she heard the story. The old doctor only told her to be careful next time and left the room.

Going back towards the room where the girl with white eyes was, he stopped by the door. Inside her could hear two voices coming out. As the old doctor entered, there he saw the senior nurse from earlier and the girl with white eyes talking. He asked the two what they were talking about and the two openly shared. The old doctor kept quiet about what happened and spent his remaining time for the day inside the girl’s room.
