"Please.. don't go I need you. Tell me you'll stay.."
He was holding her hand tightly trying not to let her go. As he spoke but she doesn't seem to hear a word he said.
"PLEASE... STAY... DON'T GO!! I'M LOST WITHOUT YOU." He cried louder
"Please... Stay... I.." the voice was faint, but she could hear someone speaking to her, when she turned around a guy standing with tears in his eyes, she knew who was calling her as she approached him she touched his face wiping the tears on his face.
"Harold, please don't do this to me. You know how much you mean to me don't make it harder than it already is, I'm begging you. I am sure we will see each other again." She turned and started to walk away before he could get a word.
"You didn't give me a choice. I don't want it to end this way. Please stay with me. We can build our life together. What do you say?" shouting at the top of his lungs
" Answer me Li-"
[CRASH!!] He woke up on the floor of his bed the loud crash attracted the attention of his parents as they rushed to his bedroom to check what the noise was. They opened the ajar door only to find Harold lying on the cold hard floor looking half-awake.
"Is everything ok? what was that noise about?" exclaimed his parents
"Yes, I'm ok. I just fell on the floor. I must have been sleeping awkwardly." Replied Harold
" Get ready then, we have things to discuss." Answered his father
[what was that dream about who was that girl I have never seen her in my life. How did she know who I am? Why was I shouting for her to stay? It's so strange. I guess dreams are just weird; they let you do absolutely anything without any reason behind it.]
The sun rose brightly across the horizon, filling the sky with shades of orange and pink. The grass glistened from the morning dew when Harold's life was about to change drastically. In the small city where he stayed, he was loved by everyone he meets and girls would chase after him. He was living the life he wanted; he had everything he could ever want. It's as natural as breathing.
His family gathered in the den; his father announced a piece of big news that might change the way they live. He informed them that he found a job in another country far from the small town they were living. This was a hard decision for everyone especially for Harold since moving to a new place meant he would have to leave his friends and the people who adored him.
He will be alone in a foreign land where he knows nothing about the place. When the day arrived, they had to say goodbye to their relatives and take a 3-hour plane ride to their destination as much as they were devastated to leave, their parents knew it was for the best to start over in a new country.
However, the rest of the family wasn't too thrilled about it. A few hours later, they arrived at Theodoralis Airport in Torzawa; they hopped in a taxi and arrived at their new place which was 15 minutes away from the big city.
As they settled in, they were amazed by how the people lived. It was a complete turnaround from what they are used to and they were overwhelmed by the sights and the behavior of the people compared to Ithionals.
"What are we going to do about their school? Have you applied for their enrolment Roland?" Asked Sharon
"Yes, dear, I did all the paperwork before we came here so they can start school. Their first day of school is next week." Answered Roland
They told them to prepare for the commencement of school. Meanwhile, Harold decided to wander around the city to find out more about this strange country that they were thrown into.
While he was walking, passing through shops and taverns along the way, there wasn't much that he could find interesting. He decided to wander through the alley where he might find some of the secrets that this place might be keeping.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
There he saw a glimpse of a person wearing a cap with a bright orange shirt that had a picture of the characters from 'My Name' which was a popular animated movie and slim-fit blue jeans. He was ecstatic to see someone wearing that shirt because back in his country, he had little to no friends who share the same interests as him. He was intrigued to find out more about this person.
He decided to follow him so he can ask where he might be able to buy that kind of merchandise. Walking out the alley, the number of people increased, and the weather was getting hotter.
He decided to take off his cap as Harold looked down he saw a caption on the cap which says 'JAYDEN' he slowly looked up and saw a black ebony hair and found out that it was a girl with slim figure, hair longer than her shoulder.
It caught him by surprise because where he was from, it was super rare to find people with that hair colour.
He tails her shop after shop, houses after houses the crowd was not helping either they were more people walking on the streets than before.
It was hectic as people from every corner were busy conducting their business from street sellers to bakery shops; it was a total madhouse as everyone walks from one place to the next.
After passing through the crowd of people, he managed to see her bright orange shirt with the movie characters printed on it.
She looked around to see if she was headed in the right direction and noticed at the corner of her eyes a guy was wearing a striped shirt with a unique symbol of a cat stretching. She recalls that it's only available when you pre-order it online as it is an exclusive merchandise from a top-rated tv show called 'The cat who lived through time.'
It was a rare shirt to get since it's premium member-exclusive, she remembered fan grilling over the show because of how adorable and lovable the cat was and antagonizing over the fact that she couldn't get it.
When she turned her head, Harold immediately hid behind the tailor shop, trying to avoid being seen only to realise that it was redundant since he wanted to ask her about the shirt.
When she turned the corner, he got stopped by the crowds coming out from Shoeniverse; he wondered why there were so many people in the middle of the day. There he saw a flyer by the window which said 'BUY ONE PAIR OF SHOES GET ONE FREE.'
The crowds cleared, he realises that she wasn't there; it was like she just vanished nowhere to be found. He was devastated that he lost sight of her and after walking around for a few minutes, he gave up and decided to go back home.
However, he had followed her to the point where he didn't know where he had gone and was lost. After searching for ways to get back home, he finally arrived at a street where he could see houses with big bright lights as if they had just celebrated a festival. He sighs with relief hoping that he had gone to the right place.
When he walked through the streets, he found his house the one with the yellow door and a sign hanging on it, which said 'The Holiday.' He opened the door and walked past the living room only to be stopped by his Father asking him where he had gone and why it took him so long to get back.
"What time do you think it is coming home this late, especially when we just moved in?" Asked rhetorically
"Um... is it 10.30 p.m?" softly mouthed by Harold
"IT'S HALF PAST 11 WHERE WERE YOU!! YOUR MOTHER AND I WERE WORRIED SICK WHEN YOU DIDN'T GET BACK AFTER IT HAD GONE DARK." Shouted by his father
The noise woke up Sharon, who was sleeping soundly in the master bedroom.
"What is with all the noise? Why are people yelling this late at night."
"Look who just got back from his adventure. You guess it. Your dumbass son was waltzing through the door close to midnight." Barked Roland
"Harold, where have you been? Are you all alright? You're not hurt, are you?"
"I'm ok mom, I was just exploring the neighborhood and I just got lost; that's all."
"That's all you have to say you got lost after you worried your mom half to death; she doesn't even know what happened to you. You don't call. You don't message. What's the purpose of giving you a phone when you don't use it properly. Exclaimed Roland
"My battery died halfway when I went out. I didn't know what to do, so I didn't get to message where I was. I had to find my way home. I'm sorry for troubling you guys and not letting you know where I was." Apologies Harold
"I don't even know what I am going to with you. You're so irresponsible you lack the decency to let the people know whether you're safe or that you're ok. What are we supposed to do when the cops come to the door and say that you died somewhere in a ditch."
"It's ok, Rolly, he's safe that's all that matters. Let's forget about this and go back to bed. Harold go on. Go upstairs and go to sleep.
" Yes, mom, I will. Sorry for disturbing your sleep."
Harold went upstairs and to his room and closed the door behind him. Thus, the long night began; he couldn't stop thinking about the girl he saw. The only upside was that he doesn't have to wake up early the next day since they got the week off before they begin their school.
The next few days, he stayed at home preparing and studying, and before he knew it, it was his first day.
Since it was a new country, he was utterly clueless and he might get himself lost so his parents asked his brother to accompany him to school.
