City lord POV:
We were waiting for it. Two days ago we got an emergency report from border village number 4. They said that a giant monster is coming. I announced a red alarm. All citizens were evacuated and we mobilized all available forces. We got over 20 000 men, including 1000 veteran warriors who specialized in the fight with giant monsters. We did not have detailed information but we expected the monster to be at least 60m tall and at maximum 80m. We were confident that we will be able to defeat that monster, not without casualties but still, a win is a win. It would be different if it was that abomination, then everyone would die. Another day passed. We were sharpening our weapons and checking armors. Nobody wanted a loose strap in his battle gear.
At night we finally felt something. The ground was trembling from the weight of the monster. The night is always the worst part of a day for us because there is no light, so we are unable to see anything outside the reach of torches. We were only able to fell the monstrous presence. It was overwhelming, some weaker soldiers were even fainting. We took a loose formation and dispersed because a lot of monsters have AoE attacks. Our weapons ready to fight. We stood in silence. At some point, the steps stopped. Then I saw death. Over 100m tall monster with a blue light on his back and in his mouth was standing there. He shot his attack far away from us. The ground exploded. We were doomed. That abomination once again evolved. I tried to order tactical retreat but one guy started screaming and launched an attack. It was one of the new recruits. He soared through the sky and started randomly attacking the body of a monster. I think that I heard the monster smirking. Then the soldier fell down, he was screaming in pain. It was a mind attack. We were paralyzed. Then the guy stood up an started talking.
-Who is the boss here! Speak!- My captain touched my arm.

-Boss, he is asking for you. Are you going?
-Do I have a choice? - I was in despair. Why the fuck did I ever agreed to be city lord in the first place. Now it will be my fault if something goes bad. I walked to the front.-I am the city lord.
-You? Good. Now tell me how can I leave this realm. -Shit, only King knows the way out of here, and this is the biggest military secret. I am screwed. If I tell him the way to the capital I will be a traitor. If I do not tell him he will probably kill everyone. - I am counting to three. 1. 2.
-I will tell you what I know.-I almost cried. Goodbye, my dear family. - I know there is a way for you to leave this realm, but I am too low in the hierarchy to know anything important. - Monster back started to glow in the blue light. Fuck it, I will try to save these people. Later, the army should take care of this. They have these special forces right?- Only King knows how to send you off from this realm so please do not kill my men.
-I am not a mindless monster. Take me to your king. -I tried to object but he just blew the whole city. Thank god that every single person was evacuated. - Any other objections. No city, no city lord needed. - All of us looked at this. We were powerless to stop this monster. I doubt that even elites would not be able to kill him, maybe chase him away but not defeat. Exactly like that abomination.
-I will be your guide.
-Good, now take your ass and let's go, or do you want live forever? - I wonder what would he do if I said yes. I told goodbye to my friends and ordered them to inform the King. They nodded in agreement.
We departed, at the beginning I was just running before the monster but after few hours I felt that my stamina is disappearing, then the monster did something that was totally unexpected. He just put me on top of his head. From this position, I could probably destroy his eyes, and try to hit his brain through the eye socket, but if I did this and failed, it would probably go on a rampage. It was a stupid idea, but there is a way. I started guiding this monster to military training range. Ther should be no casualties, and if my friends inform the King, the guys in HQ should be able to find out where we are going. Guys do not let me die. Please.
