Chapter 28 (Part 1)

The Omni-Palace buzzed with an undercurrent of tension as the assembly of Destroyer Gods, Angels, and various other deities gathered for an unprecedented event. The atmosphere was thick with anticipation, yet no one dared to break the silence as the Grand Priest addressed them.

"By the decree of Grand Zeno, permission has been granted to locate and eliminate Merno," the Grand Priest announced, his voice echoing through the grand hall. The weight of his words caused the gathered deities to shift uncomfortably, though none dared to speak out.

"The hierarchy of the Gods will undergo a significant shift today," the Grand Priest continued. "An ancient position, authorized by the Grand Zeno himself, will be filled. Lord Ramton, Lord Sky, and Lord Beerus, please step forward in that order."

Three Destroyer Gods moved forward, each one radiating power and authority. The first to step forward was an imposing figure—Lord Ramton, known as the mightiest among the Destroyer Gods. His appearance was a striking combination of a shark and a Namekian, his blue skin adorned with gills. He wore the traditional garb of a Destroyer, but there was an air of unmatched strength about him that set him apart.

"I will take command of this operation," Lord Ramton declared, his deep voice carrying a weight that silenced any potential objections. His authority was unquestioned, and the other gods stood in silent agreement.

Turning to face the assembly, Lord Ramton's gaze swept over the 97 Destroyer Gods and Angels now under his command. "Lord Ramton, you are hereby entrusted with the duty of Grand God of Destruction," the Grand Priest proclaimed. A second layer of destroyer garb was bestowed upon Ramton, symbolizing his new rank. He accepted it with a deep bow to the Grand Priest.

"I will now select the Vice Destroyers who will serve directly under your command," the Grand Priest announced, his voice carrying an air of finality. "Lord Sky and Lord Beerus, step forward."

Lord Sky, a deity with an ethereal appearance, his skin a pale shade of gray and his eyes glowing like the stars, moved to stand beside Ramton. His aura exuded calm and wisdom, yet there was an undeniable power simmering beneath the surface. Beside him, Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7, stepped forward with his characteristic aloofness. Yet, those who knew Beerus understood the depths of his power and the fierce loyalty he commanded.

The three gods now stood side by side, a formidable force that would lead the charge in the hunt for Merno. The Grand Priest observed them for a moment before speaking again. "The position of Vice Destroyer is not one to be taken lightly. You will be the right hand of the Grand God of Destruction during the pursuit of Merno, and your actions will shape the fate of the multiverse."

Ramton nodded, his gaze forward, resolute. Sky and Beerus exchanged a glance, both recognizing the magnitude of the task ahead. This was no ordinary mission—tracking down an angel was a challenge that would test even the mightiest of gods, let alone one as ancient as Merno.

The assembly watched in silence, understanding that the decisions made today would ripple across all realms. The hunt for Merno had officially begun, and the multiverse held its breath, awaiting the outcome of this unprecedented alliance of gods.

As the group of deities vanished from sight, leaving the Omni-Palace behind, the Grand Priest turned, offering a respectful bow before retreating into the palace's depths. Outside the bounds of the Omni-Verse, Ramton, Sky, and Beerus materialized in a void of nothingness. The atmosphere was thick with tension as they relaxed, knowing they were now beyond the watchful eyes of Grand Zeno.

"Beerus, Sky," Ramton called out, his voice cutting through the silence. Both gods turned their attention to him.

"Do you sense that?" Ramton asked, his tone serious.

Sky and Beerus exchanged a glance, then nodded. "It seems we have company," Beerus replied, a predatory grin spreading across his face.

Ramton's eyes narrowed. "Bourbon, Jagermeist, Pantharos, Zephronis," he commanded, his voice carrying the authority of the Grand God of Destruction.

In an instant, four powerful deities materialized behind Ramton and the two Vice Destroyers. "Yes, Grand Destroyer Ramton!" they responded in unison, their voices filled with respect and readiness.

Ramton turned his gaze to the void. "An old friend seems to be making his way here... Spectre," he called out, summoning the agent of divine retribution.

Spectre materialized behind Ramton, bowing deeply. "Your predecessor seems to be on his way, and I can only assume his intentions are far from benevolent," Ramton explained, his tone grave.

Spectre's expression hardened. "Eclipso," he muttered, recognizing the name immediately.

"It will be up to you to stop and defeat him," Ramton continued. "Do you require backup from a Destroyer God?"

Spectre shook his head firmly. "Not at all, Lord Ramton. Eclipso is but a shadow of his former self. I require no assistance." His confidence was unshakable.

Ramton nodded approvingly. "Good. Ensure that we never have to worry about him again. Put him down so he can finally rest."

Spectre's form shimmered as he prepared to depart. "As you wish, Lord Ramton..." His voice echoed through the Abyss as he vanished, leaving behind only a whisper of his presence. Ramton's thoughts lingered for a moment on the once-strong friendship between him and Eclipso.

Turning his focus back to the task at hand, Ramton called out, "Mar Novu, Lord Death." The Monitor and a figure clad in black, his presence exuding an aura of finality, appeared before him, bowing deeply.

"The Anti-Monitor approaches the Omni-Verse at great speeds," Ramton informed them. "I will send you two along with Destroyer Xyrok, Quitela, Hel, and Harbrara. Your combined power and rank should suffice to handle the likes of the Anti-Monitor."

The assembled gods bowed in acknowledgment before vanishing.

Ramton then turned his attention back to Beerus. "Now, Beerus, the ominous power approaching is none other than the true form of Darkseid. You shall intercept him and teach him what it means to bare his fangs at a Destroyer God. Gohan humbled his avatar, and now, as his elder, it's your turn to deal with the real threat."

Beerus's eyes gleamed with anticipation. "I've heard of this Darkseid. Perpetua mentioned him long ago," he mused. Then, with a slight bow to Ramton, he added, "I will teach him a fine lesson."

Without another word, Beerus disappeared in a burst of speed, charging into the depths of the Abyss where Darkseid awaited.

Ramton watched him go, his mind already shifting to the next task. "Now," he said, his voice carrying authority, "the Grand Priest has personally informed me of Merno's current location. Lady Chronoa is expecting us."

With that, Ramton, Sky, and the remaining gods vanished.
