Trigon growled. "Your tone, Angel! You frustrate me with your nonchalance," he said. The angel just smirked.
"Alright, but I need some form of reassurance that you will not betray me," Enchantress said. "But what can you do for me?" she asked. "And what do you need me to do?" she added.
Merno chuckled. "That's easy. It may not seem like much, but we Angels have no reason to lie to anyone unless, of course, I am fearing for my life. But such a feeling has never once touched me, even when I was erased by the almighty," he explained before waving his staff. "But to calm your fragile mind, I suppose it wouldn't hurt," he continued as he waved his staff and a scroll appeared.
Enchantress felt her hair rise up as a shiver ran down her spine. "Is that—"
"A piece of the Book of Eternity. Once you master the magic inscribed on it, you won't ever have to worry about the likes of Mar Novu. You could even tackle a few weaker destroyer gods. Assist me, and I can give you another scroll," he explained.
Enchantress was trembling as she stared at the scroll. "I'll do it!" she replied.
Merno nodded before turning to Trigon. "I did you this one favor because I understand my presence with my staff has had you on edge. Do not engage the gods who will soon approach. Leave this place and let those approaching three deal with them. I had a feeling they would band together to get rid of me, so I'd rather have them clash with some natural enemies."
"You planned this from the beginning, didn't you?" Trigon asked as Merno chuckled.
"Whatever do you mean?" he asked with a smile as he and Enchantress vanished.
"Damn Angel, the only reason I didn't kill you myself was because you said you could do something for me. I didn't think you'd make my entry into the 21st universe this easy... and this fast," Trigon grinned. 'With all those gods gone, I can easily enter the 21st universe, but being here will do me no good,' he mused silently. 'He hasn't lost his smooth tongue either,' he thought as he disappeared in flames. After all, he had no reason to clash with whatever force was coming his way.
Circe followed behind Gohan and the rest. She had been mostly silent, not really having any opinion of her own to add.
"We should head back to the 21st universe. I should get back and continue my training there. I'll be moving back and forth between the two because Zatanna's still in the 7th," Gohan explained as everyone nodded.
"Gohan," Karen called out, catching his attention.
"Yeah, Power Girl?"
"I won't be staying. Supergirl will be taking my place," she explained. Gohan nodded.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"You do seem much stronger than before," Gohan stated. Karen chuckled and smirked.
"Yeah, I have gotten much stronger. I think I could beat Superman now," she remarked with a grin as Goku clapped softly in the back.
'I do not know this woman, but from what Master Vermont has taught me, if I sense her Ki, she seems to be growing more powerful, I cannot let her surpass me.' Strix silently vowed.
"Alright, I need to see Barry anyway," Gohan explained with a smile before adopting a more serious expression, his hair turning a crimson red. "Everyone ready?"
Merno and Enchantress appeared in the Abyss near the Omni-Verse. "Alright, now do you know of the Time Nest?" Merno asked, turning to face Enchantress.
"The Time Nest? I do not understand," she asked. 'I have studied many ancient magics, but I have never heard of a Time Nest. Unless—'
"Temporal Sanctuary, Chrono Haven, Eternal Watchtower, Chrono Citadel? Honestly, the Time Nest has so many names it becomes hard to come to a common understanding. Can you think of any space that exists outside the flow of time? The genesis of time?" Merno asked. Enchantress's eyes grew wide.
"I only know that it's some form of fiction. Many great sorcerers and gods spend their entire lifespan trying to access the greater dimension, but it's always been as true as a real Philosopher's Stone, and there has never been one, at least in my opinion," Enchantress explained. Merno chuckled.
"Oh? But Philosopher's Stones do exist," Merno stated. Enchantress just shook her head.
"No, I am well aware that there are stones capable of extraordinary power. Usually, it is limited to transmutation or magical power, and even then, they cannot achieve any goal unless you are prepared to face severe drawbacks," she explained.
"Well, you aren't wrong, but I am also not incorrect. The names change and dance around, but the stones I am speaking of are known as Super Dragon Balls. They are the only set of true Philosopher's Stones, if you can gather them and speak the languages of the gods. But if I am being honest, I do not fully understand the power of those stones. They are said to be only second to the Grand Zeno," Merno finished.
"You just need to be old enough to remember," he finished as Enchantress didn't know what to say.
"How old are you?" she asked the angel, who glanced down at her.
"That is a difficult one to answer. I have been around since before this universe was formed. In fact, I don't remember how many realities existed before something happened that made the Grand Zeno erase it all and restart. Usually, every so often, countless eons would pass, but the mortals would somehow do something to earn his ire. We Angels never truly cared because we trusted the king, but perhaps he knew of my rebellious behavior and erased me before I could create chaos."
"But no matter. I need you to assist me in stealing the Temporal Crystal. With its power, I will be able to mask my presence even against the Grand Zeno. The Temporal Crystal does carry his power after all," Merno finished. Enchantress, on the other hand, could not believe her ears.
In the Omni-Palace, the Grand Zeno chuckled as he summoned a godpad and watched as Gohan and the gang returned. "Are the preparations ready?" he asked as the Grand Priest bowed.
"I want to see something really cool! But at this rate, I might as well just erase everything and start again... but that's so dull..." Slowly, as if this had been the plan from the get-go. "And I think the best way to do that is..."
The Grand Presence eyed the young destroyer before snapping his fingers. "That should do it."
The Grand Priest watched. "You did something?" he asked as Zeno chuckled.
"Sort of... I left a surprise, but who knows how it will end?" The Grand Priest and the guards looked at the King, a little uncertain, before shrugging.
