Snapped back to reality, the three mages hastily raised their staffs to attack Erika. Each of them prepared a different spell. Red, blue, and green simultaneously appeared one after another, all looked like offensive spells, and powerful ones at that. A small circle hovered in front of them, pattern of runes and ancient words were engraved beautifully and rotating anti-clockwise inside the circle. Some small light particles emitting from them making the scene more fantasy-like.

“Pests” (Erika)

Holding her katana, Erika moved her arm from bottom to top then down to bottom to make a perfect circle. "Special Tier: Frost Element: Frienzied Barrage". Next, in a blink of an eye, countless icicles in the shape of swords formed above her head.

With multiple sonic boom sounds, the wolves fell to death one after another. Each one had at least three sword-like icicle penetrated the head. Not long after that, there was not a single wolf alive... not even their corpes. Total silence engulfed the whole area.

This has occurred to her at the first time she saw these people. Why in the world were they chanting the spells out loud? And why were they categorizing the tiers for common spells? Maybe the game had some updates after she died? Furthermore, their fighting techniques, according to the game standards, were considered newbies. If these guys were in the game, forget about beating up other people, they would be obliterated be the middle zone monsters – where players come to an end of their tutorial phase.

But little did they know. Despite her appearance, Erika was once known as “Ghostrunner”, along with some other title like “Battle Angel”, “Barbarian”, which she absolutely hates to be called… in the game. By dumping all stats into agility, with a bunch of ranged and melee magic attacks, she always be the first one to charge into battles and stood on the front line with other tank guild members. Slaying every unfortunate being that came to her field of view, like a certain guy who was literally too angry to die in hell with a badass nick name “Doom Slayer”. Even her fighting style closely resembled Vergil from the Devil May Cry series, she's fangirling him hard.

Visionary was the name of her former guild; It was full of weird people like Erika, and they all viewed her as an adorable sister or some sort. But even Erika’s guildmates had a hard time dealing with her un-ladylike behaviors. She talked with them evenly, drinking, swearing, and acting like a middle-aged man who had just got back from work. Sometimes they had suspicions whether she’s a girl or just some old man dressed as one. Eventually, they just gave up and accepted it. “It is what it is” they said.

Meanwhile, Sylvia had finished putting a transparent white barrier like a dome with her in the center, covering anything in a radius of five meters. Ralph stood in front of everyone for extra protection.

“It’ll be fine… Just watch…” Aria said with a smile.

Having witnessed Erika’s healing. Aria had some faith in Erika’s strength, though that does not mean the others saw what she meant.

"Elysium's Promise" This barrier is in a completely different league; it has a honeycomb structure with two layers to further increase strength and stability. This was the most used defensive measure among players in PvP due to its low-cost requirement and could be maintained indefinitely through the user’s mana reserve function. Of course, there was also a third and fourth layer, but Erika decided those would be overkill in this situation.

Smoke emitted from where she stood, blocked all vision from inside as well as outside. Whoever in there might be scorched to death, truly a brutal fate.

“Did we do it?”

“Wahaahaa!! You are still a human after all”

“Idiot. There is no way she’s still alive. That firepower is enough to erase a whole pack of orcs!”

The mages celebrated. On the other side…

“…” (Aria and Sylvia)

“I told you. That was total suicide…” Melissa grimaced

“Hmm…” Ralph bemused

“I should have gone there and help…” Knight Captain said in regret

“Stop blaming yourself, Eric. Nothing would change if you had gone over there. Besides…” Sylvia said while gesturing her chin towards Erika’s place

“What do you mea-“

Before he can reply, Eric turned his head and saw a small figure emerged from inside the smoke. Swinging her sword sideways, The girl gracefully lifting the hem of the short dress, then twirled it, dispersed all the smoke surrounding her.

“Erika/ This stupid girl!!!” (Aria, Sylvia, Ralph, Eric/ Melissa)

“Foolishness… Did you really think you stand a chance?” (Erika)

(I did it. I can finally unleash my top 10 edgy lines. Yeaah!)

“Impossible!!!” (Mage 1)

“We’re done for… Forgive meeeee!” Mage 2 broke down crying

“Screw that!!! I’m not getting paid enough for this” Mage 3 shouted as he turned his back and run away. The others followed fit

“No bailing now~” Erika said

Just before she could start chasing them down. Erika noticed some thing was moving in the forest. Then three balls of black flame burst out homing directly at the mages. With a boom, the three screamed in terror as the flame ate them inside out.

“Marvelous!!! That was impressive M’ Lady”

Out of nowhere, a man appeared from the forest. He seemed to be in his mid-thirties. The man was wearing a white formal suit with red tie and a fedora hat. His hands held a bronze gentleman stick with solid round knob. Truly fit the word “villain”.
