A blaring siren echoed through the serene waters. The loud, blaring noise made sure that the lives of every single living thing has been disturbed. The deepest of sleepers in the deepest of places awoke with a monumental grunt. Whatever the noise was, it now had everyone's attention.
'What the hell is going on!?', I urgently asked to no one as I awoke from my own slumber. The very reef shook with all the incessant commotion. Everyone else seems to be bothered by it, so it's definitely not just me hearing things.
"I- I don't know.", Sam answered worriedly. "I wasn't briefed on whatever this is, nor has this ever happened before."
That can't be. Sam, no matter how annoying she is, always has some sort of guess, clue, or answer to whatever. You're telling me she doesn't know?
'Is this the doing of whatever you're working for or is this some kind of monster?', I demanded.
"I told you, I don't know. But I don't think even a senior Beta Tester is capable of this. All the other assistants have no idea what's going on either, and it seems that all of the Coliseums are hearing the same thing, in the same volume, and its coming from everywhere."
'So that means, you can't identify the source? Wait, by all of the Coliseums, you mean all those planets?'
"At this moment, ye-"
The loud blaring ceased its rampage on our eardrums. The commotion skidded to a halt, a shared sense of confusion and relief were plastered onto everyone's faces. Then, once we thought it was over, a single electronic chime rang brightly, prompting the system to open.
The system interface was still the same as ever, save from the ominous timer and words now at the very top of the screen.

Time until G-34-A collision: [89:23:59:56]
Commence: Project Showdown
'Sam, what the fuck is a G-34-A?'
...
No answer. Right when I need her the most, she's gone. What the fuck is going on?
Right then and there, a massive current could be felt coming from the Abyss, which is not a good sign. It's just one thing after the other, huh?
I dashed to the nearest cover I could find, the same coral that I used to hide from the eel on my first night. The current only got stronger and stronger, pushing everything away indiscriminately. The smaller creatures and loosely held corals were swept away by the current, only to end up who-knows-where. With the help of the little cover the coral provides, I could barely stay in place by swimming against the invisible force, effectively creating an underwater treadmill.
"I have bad news."
'Sam! You won't believe how happy I am to hear your voic-'
"The world is ending."
Everything slowed down in my head suddenly.
'Say what now?'
"G-34-A is the largest moon of G-34."
'Oh. That explains it.'
"And Project Showdown is basically an encouragement; an invitation if you will."
'An invitation to what?'
"For the Beta-Testers to kill each other, until there's only one remaining."
Right on cue, the monster causing the currents to go wild finally appeared from the depths and breached the waters at full speed. A leviathan of biblical proportions has come from the chasm. Its dark, metallic blue scales glistened as its bone-shaking roar made the clouds cry, forming a storm on command. Its serpentine body slithered through the water as its upper body stayed out of the water. Its glowing, yellow eyes scanned the reef, no prey getting past its deathly gaze. My body shivered in terror, being in its mere presence is enough to make largely lesser beings accept their demise. Its glare continued as its head methodically submerged back into the ocean. A wave of realization hit me as I stared at in awe. Its looking for something.
And just my luck, its eyes locked onto mine.
It was looking for me.
