I woke up the exact same way as every other day, feeling partially equal parts annoyed and dead inside. Every day is the exact same. Sure there is some difference betweens days like different classes. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings I do some martial art practice. It's just everything feels like just a continuation of the day before.
Well anyway, time to get on with my day. I do my morning routine which is to take a shower for an unholy amount of time get dressed in some exercise clothes and get to the gym that pretty much hosts any physical activity under the sun. I meet up with my sensei or master or whatever you wanna call it, he just prefers to be called master. He says it makes him cringe when people call him that.
My master whose name is Erik is only a couple years older than me. He's also a senior in college that just teaches people martial arts as a way to make a couple extra bucks and an excuse to keep in shape.
"Ah, Alex, you finally decided to show up, thought you weren't gonna make it again." I do have a history of being late or absent because of poor sleeping habits. Also forgot to mention my name is Alexander "Alex" Smith. My parents were big history buffs who traveled all around the world. Too bad one of those travels would be the last time I saw them. They were on a tour on some river and the boat was apparently in really bad condition. They still went on and they sank and the investigator didn't quite know what did them in.
Anyways I'm going off on a tangent again probably should respond to him to not make myself look weird. "Uhh..yeah I made it this time" I gave him one of those self-deprecating chuckles. After some awkward chatter we got to practicing for two hours and then went our separate ways. I made a mad dash back to my dorm and the took another shower and got dressed with more normal wear.
I then got my school shit and again made another mad dash for the college building. As I entered I got a small amount of laughs "Mr. Smith late again I see." I really do enjoy showers a little too much.
"Won't happen again." I told the professor with the utmost confidence. Okay maybe not the utmost but I did try my best.
The professor was staring at me with that stare that could practically say 'bullshit' of course they didn't actually say that they were a bit nicer "I'll like to believe that Mr. Smith."
And then I made the walk of shame to my desk. While no one in particular had an assigned seat, everyone left the one in the way back for me it was also right next to where my mother hen sat.
"Was it the shower or did you oversleep?" Mother hen asked. Okay her name isn't actually Mother hen it's Jasmine, but she has been a Mother hen of sorts to me for a while now. We've known each other since we were practically born our friends were besties. When they found out they were going to have children at the same time they decided that it would be perfect for their children to also be besties. Mother hen is slightly older than me only be a couple of months September and November for those who are wondering. She was my other half growing up she was the sun and I was the moon. She is vibrant while I am dull. You get the picture I'm sure.

"Hey Alex, you are doing that thing again." She somewhat rudely interrupted. She gave me a slight look of concern while those big brown eyes of hers. Brief description time Jasmine has black hair, brown eyes, slightly olive skin, and well she was beautiful some might say. She's also short she will beat you if you say that outloud.
"Don't worry, I'm here" I said with a smile to make sure she knows I'm alright. "And it was shower this time."
"You really need to take normal length showers." She pointed out unhelpfully.
"Yeah, yeah. I know" I waved away her concern.
After the brief talk with mother hen we started to listen to the rather boring lecture if might add. After class ended Mother hen dragged me to the cafeteria and we had a meal with her friends. Jasmine is quite a bit more social then I was and tried to make an effort to get me to be a bit more social but I always find it to be boring, dull, and repetitive.
"So, Alex…Jasmine tells us you do Martial Arts and stuff like that." This was said by Brian, tall, broad and a football player. I had the distinct impression that he really didn't care; he was really just trying to win brownie points with Mother hen. Although she wasn't really interested in him. Trust me I know which guys and girls she's interested in.
I just gave him a nod instead of replying. In Mother hens group of the day was Brian, a gal named Sarah, a dude named Caleb, and another gal named Taryn. This group wasn't too bad well I didn't much care for Brian the others weren't bad. Lunch went on for an hour as the rest of the group chatter went on and on "Alex, you're being standoff-ish again" Mother hen whispered to me while poking me in the gut with her elbow.
"Sorry, I'm just not really in the mood of talking today." I replied.
"You never really are." She said with the mother hen sigh. Soon lunch came to an end and me and mother hen parted ways and the rest of the day went on as normal.
Mother hen came to my door to collect me from my dorm and brought me to dinner. It was just us this time and we made some nice chit-chat. And then she asked me this question "So, are you coming with me for spring break?" I sighed. She had been trying to get me to go on a vacation with her and her family. The Lee's were good people practically my second family but they always went to tropical islands and I don't really wanna spend a week in a hot clammy place.
"Do I have to?" I asked in an overly dramatic child like voice. I was already planning on going with her but its fun making it difficult for her.
She smirked at. She knew she had won. "Yes my dear boy, you'll finally go out and get some sun." I mumble mother hen under my breath with got my an oh so adorable scowl. Which made my smirk.
After dinner we kinda just hanged out in my dorm room and she eventually left to go as she put it 'have a social life' pfft loser couldn't even imagine. And so night went on and I got some sleep
"Welcome Players to your new world!" And that was the first thing I heard in the morning, well not technically morning more mid-afternoon, but it was morning to me.
I opened me eyes to a floating grey screen in front of me on the screen it read…transporting in 5…4…2…1… "well, fuck" …0 and the the world went white.
