C-Rank Ford truck

Sarah saw more people running into the complex, yelling about vehicles. She was stunned. Were there actually vehicles here? Jason was already deep inside.

"Get out! We got here first!"

Sarah tried to shoo them away, buying Jason time. She was quick-thinking, a testament to her government job.

But they didn't listen. A middle-aged man slapped her.

Slap!

"Ouch!" Sarah yelped. Same feeling, same yelp, different perpetrator.

Hearing the commotion, Jason realized others were searching for vehicles. He sped up his search.

Around a corner, he finally spotted one: a beat-up van.

"Finally!"

He ran towards it. The others saw it too.

"Look! A vehicle!"

"Damn it, everyone, go! Don't let that guy get it!"

Everyone raced towards the van. Jason was in the lead, reaching it first.

The others' faces fell. "Hey, wait up! Let's all go!"

Jason smirked, opened the door, and got in.

[Ding! C-Rank vehicle detected: beat-up van. Bind to vehicle?]

Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation.

"No!"

He refused. You could only bind to one vehicle; it couldn't be taken or abandoned, even if destroyed. His target was David Lee's A-Rank RV.

He glanced at the approaching group, started the van (the keys were in the ignition, and it was full of gas), shifted gears, and floored it.

"Damn it, stop the van!"

"That jerk! There's room, why didn't he let us in?"

They cursed, watching him go, forced to continue their search.

As Jason neared the complex exit, he saw Sarah at the entrance. Her left cheek was swollen.

She looked surprised when she saw him. But he didn't stop.

"Jason Williams, you son of a bitch! Stop…"

She raged, regretting the breakup. She could have escaped.

Jason smirked in his rearview mirror. Last time, Sarah had left him stranded. There was no way he was giving her a ride.

He headed towards the city center, speeding up. He needed to find that RV. The streets were clear; no other vehicles or obstacles.

"Look! A van! Hey, stop! Take us out of here!"

People shouted, hoping for a ride. Jason ignored them.

Some tried to stop him. He didn't slow down, plowing right into them. Trying to block him? Too bad.

"Watch out! The van's going to hit someone!"

People scattered, terrified of being run over.

"That maniac! He's trying to get reincarnated!"

"That bastard! I'm remembering his face! I'm gonna get him!"

People cursed. He wouldn't even let them in, then tried to kill them.

As Jason searched for the square, the hour approached. People found vehicles in various locations, becoming owners. Others waited at bus stops. Vehicle owners picked up some passengers, escaping the city. Some were already gone. Only a few remained, searching for vehicles.

Jason arrived at a deserted square.

"This is it."

He felt a surge of excitement. He’d wasted time getting here. The square was empty. Anyone would look and leave, searching for vehicles, not sightseeing. But an A-Rank RV was hidden here.

Past investigations showed all A-Rank vehicles were in underground garages, hard to find. Only the lucky found them. David Lee had bragged in the group chat about his luck. He’d been chased by a monster, escaping to this square, and somehow teleporting to an underground garage. It was like a cliché story about a protagonist falling off a cliff and finding a hidden master. Jason envied him.

Jason hadn’t doubted David’s story. There was no reason to lie. Would anyone be reborn and steal his RV beforehand?
