The Cast

Anthis'amar … A daughter of Una and niece of Kela although she is close in age to the latter. She is the younger sister of Vastha. She is an apprentice healer learning the trade under the watchful eyes of her mother. She focuses her studies on healing spells to treat her patients.

Raetho'kael … One of Kela's older brothers. He is a warrior in the tradition of the warrior scholars of Caer'kael. He is less of a front line fighter, although he is quite accomplished in that regard as well, and more of a scholar who studies the art of war. Strategy, logistics and tactics are the areas of expertise where he truly shines. At times he is prone to overthinking things though.

Tero'thaa … One of Kela's older brothers. He hails from the domain of Caer'thaa and is a wizard of great skill. During the battle of The Gap he took control of the storm Kaele summoned at Keza's behalf, when she lost control of it during the great wyvern's crash landing, guiding it further into the enemy's lines.

Una'amar … One of Kela's older sisters. She is in fact quite a bit older than Kela. Old enough to be, in theory at least, her mother. She has several children of her own already and is an accomplished healer of some renown. Two of her oldest daughters accompany her as her apprentices.

Vastha'amar … A daughter of Una and niece of Kela although she is close in age to the latter. She is an apprentice healer learning the trade under the watchful eyes of her mother. Unlike her younger sister Anthis she focuses on herbal lore, alchemy and similar treatments to cure her patients.

People and Places

Caer'kael … A heavily fortified town on the southwestern edge of The Gap. During times of peace it is one of the major trading hubs along the border to the human dominated lands of the Council of Kings. The place is known for its wool and cotton as well. It is during times of war that its other specialty becomes important, as the place is home to a school of warrior poets or warrior scholars as some would call them.

Caer'rath … A heavily fortified village as well as the surrounding domain neighboring Caer'zoth, although there is some untamed wilderness in between the two domains. It is situated at the edge of the gap as well. Unlike Caer'kael it is not known for trade though. Instead the community dominated by dark elves is known for the fine timber they export.

Caer'thaa … A village situated on the very western borders of the lands ruled by the great King of Bleak Peak. It is, for the most part, a farming community that has to deal with regular raids by Ganarl youths who try to prove themselves to their kin by making off with some of the animals kept by the farmers. There is no bad blood in between the farmers of the domain and the raiders though, as these traditional raids are highly formalized and the farmers get compensated by their lord anyway.

Dwarves … Dwarves are a short, stout, hardy and long lived people very much suited to living underground in their fortified mountain cities. They don't like traveling on the surface much and aren't exactly welcoming to strangers either. They do trade with the other members of The Council of Kings though, who covet the fine steel weapons and suits of armor crafted by the people living under the mountains.

Gothol'gathrak … One of the grand fortress cities carved into the rock below the Mountains of the Ringwall by the small folk. Very little is known about it as the dwarves are not exactly welcoming to strangers, who usually are only permitted into the outermost halls of the city. Gothol'gathrak has to have expansive forges though as it supplies The Council of Kings with arms and armor en mass, gladly taking their coin in return. Only the numerous chimneys and the fortified entrances carved into the flanks of the mountain above the city hint at its size, or for that matter existence, at all.
