Vol 2. Chapter 4

It has been an hour since walking on this dirt path. The footsteps were gradually disappearing as I continued. Since starting, I encountered a few monsters trying to pick a fight with me. Well, you can guess what happened, goblins were burned, horned rabbits were hunted and turned to my food, and others were killed and the valuables, into my [Item Box].

“Haaahh…”

A yawn escaped my lips as I continued on the path. My travelling pace is slow, so I started jogging to at least get a faster travelling speed. Some of you may seem this may be a bad idea because I may need to conserve my energy when an unexpected situation occurs, but thanks to [Dragon Blood], my stamina never got exhausted.

While I was jogging, I stumbled upon a cliché scene, bandits attacking a wagon. There were about six bandits left attacking and two guards defending. You can tell which was going to lose, but first, I’ll observe for a while to grasp the situation.

I hid inside a bush that was situated in front of the battleground.

Inside the wagon, I saw a girl through the window for only an instant before she closed the curtains. On the driver’s seat, there was a middle aged man with an arrow lodged through his head. There were also some bandits lying on the floor, their total count were three. And there was also a guard lying on the wagon with wounds covering her body.

The guards were equipped with iron armor only covering their vital points. One wielded a sword and shield, another, a bow, the last was a cane. The one lying on the wagon was the staff wielder, probably a mage.

The bandits were equipped with less than standard weapons and armor. The blades on their weapons were chipped while their armor was rugged without any evidence of maintenance. These bandits were probably lackeys or a third-rate bandit group.

The guards were all women while the bandits were all male. This is somehow, disturbing.

At this rate, the bandits will win because of their numbers, and also because the guards are exhausted. I better come out now to help because I don’t want those bandits to have their way with those women. I’m not doing this for popularity mind you.

I came out from the bush, held the almost destroyed sword I stole from the goblins in my right hand, and charged at the closest bandit I can see.

“What!?”

The bandit noticed me, but he was just a bit too late. I pierced my sword through his head, brain matter gushing out through wound.

“!?”

“Who’s there!?”

I pulled out my sword from the head and threw it to the next closest bandit, lodging it through his chest. Since the bandit was just wearing leather clothes, the sword, albeit almost destroyed, easily pierced through his body. Both of the bandits crumbled to the ground almost at the same time.

“Just a passing traveler.”

I formed a smile on my face as I picked up the weapon the bandit I killed was using. It was just a short sword, but at least it was better than the ones I got from the goblins.

If you’re wondering whether I have some reaction to killing, I would say no. This is not the first time I’ve killed people. And I would have no qualms with killing these low lives.

“Shit! Kill him!!!”

One bandit, presumably the leader, ordered the others to take my life.

“No way, I still need to meet with my sister and another person.”

I replied with a smile still plastered on my face. One bandit, who was close to me, was already nearing my position, and swung his weapon at my head. It was a wooden club, but is big enough to crack open a human’s skull.

I swiftly dodged it by sidestepping to the right and pierced his torso with my sword.

“Guha!”

The bandit coughed up blood before falling to the ground after I pulled my sword out. The two guards, taking this as a signal, started a counter attack against the bandits, killing two of them in the process.

There was one bandit left, and he was the leader.

“Bastards! Wipin’ out mah crew!! I’ll kill y’all!!!”

The bandit leader, who was equipped with a weapon, and armor far superior than the other bandits charged at the two women guards. The bow wielding guard knocked an arrow in her bow and let it fly towards the bandit leader.

“Hahh!!!”

The bandit leader, with his weapon, an iron club, smashed the arrow to bits. During that gap, the guard wielding the sword and shield came in close to reach him with her blade.

“Take this!!!”

“Uohh!!!”

She swung her sword diagonally to the bandit leader with speed and finesse. The bandit leader quickly reacted and shifted his center of gravity to fall back while spinning to avoid the slash.

“Oraahh!!!”

The bandit leader counter-attacked with his club while using the centrifugal force of his spin to acquire more force in his swing. Because of the gap of using the diagonal slash, the guard had no choice but to defend herself with her shield.

The club came in contact with the shield and sent her flying for about 5 meters. At that time, the bow user knocked another arrow in her bow and sent it flying to the bandit leader’s head.

“Oryahhh!!!!”

The bandit leader quickly moved his club to block the oncoming arrow and the arrow rebounded from the club. The bandit leader then picked up a stone under his feet and threw towards the bow user, hitting her right hand, making her unable to use her bow.

“Hehehe!!! You lots are friggin’ weak!! I’mma break you till you cry bitches, but after I deal with this bastard right’ere!!!”

He glared at my direction while holding his club in a daunting pose.

“DIE MOTHERFUCKER!!!”

He lunged himself at me while holding his club overhead. I readied my stance to receive his attack as he swung hid club down.

*Ting*

“WHAT!?”

I could’ve dodged that swing since the attack was so slow and exaggerated, but I thought of something. Since my tail is also made up of the scales in my dragon form that can destroy a tree with only a bump, what if I caught the attack with my tail?

I tried testing it out and the result, the club was shattered to pieces. Man, these scales are tough. If [Dragon Knight] was here, he might be revered to as a Dragon God.

“WHAT DID YOU DO!!??”

The bandit leader shouted with saliva spraying from his mouth. The saliva dropped on my face, close to my mouth.

“You smell so take a hike!”

“Gofuu!!??”

I used my tail and hit him with [Dragon Tail], causing him to fly towards a tree. His head landed on the tree first, causing it to snap, instantly killing him.

“Ahh… I didn’t mean to kill him…”

As I regretted putting in too much force in my tail to knock him off the woma guard using a sword and shield walked towards me.

“Thank you for saving us earlier. If not for you, we might have been defiled and killed by those rotten bandits.”

“Your welcome. Actually, I’ve been wondering, where is this place?”

“This place? We are inside Elf territory in the country of Elm. Why do you ask?”

Wait… What…?

“Elm you say…”

“Hm? What’s the matter?”

When we were summoned, it was inside the country of Grisia. When I took a look at the world map, there were four continents, namely, Human continent, Demihuman continent, Demon continent, and Beast continent.

The Human continent is located at the north, Demihuman at the east, Beast at the west, and Demon at the south. The south continent was actually known as the Majin continent before being controlled by the Demon King.

The Demon continent before was actually a peaceful place with kindhearted Majins. The Majins were the most powerful of the four races, but because of the Demon King’s miasma, they have been turned into horrible monsters with only unwavering loyalty towards the Demon Lord. Now, they are referred to as demons.

This was taught to us by the King of the country of Grisia, who also holds the most power in the Human continent. I thought if we were just being used for a political battle, but it turns out, there were also the demihumans and beasts cooperating to fight against the demons.

Back on the topic, the country of Elm was located in the Demihuman continent, and is ruled by the numerous demihuman races.

Right now, I am in elf territory, so it means…

“You guys are elves right?”

“Correct.”

Since they were wearing caps, they took it off, revealing their sharp, pointy ears. I took a look at the bandits, but they were just regular humans.

“Then you must be a dragonewt, but with those human ears, you must be a half-human and half-dragonewt, am I correct?”

… This turned out to be one hell of a mess.
