Hello, everyone.
I'm here to inform you about my choice to put this novel on "Hiatus" and explain the reasons for my choice.
I am not abandoning this story!
I feel it's important to affirm this point before continuing, I have been around this site long enough to see far too many promising authors simply vanish after declaring hiatus. I am not going anywhere. In fact, I'm not even stopping working on this story, I'm going to be editing everything I've written so far in the meantime.
Those who care enough to occasionally check up on me will be able to track my activity, and progress in that Author's Note block at the top. I put it up there so that those kind people won't have to scroll through all this text again.
Writing the next chapter turned out to be very difficult and problematic to write. I struggled to progress and barely managed to get anywhere despite spending more time on it than I have on any other chapter so far, and it kept getting harder as I got further along. The cycle continued until I was forced to step back, take a deep breath, and think about the root of the problem.
Long story short (please ignore the irony in that phrasing), I didn't put enough thought into various minor things and uncertainty gradually piled up. That would normally not cause much of a problem since I just kinda go with it as I write, but now that I'm starting to explore the history behind Tiama and expand on what the Kronos cells are, these problems are starting to show themselves and hinder the continuation of the story.
As such, my chosen course of action was to go back and fix it! Right from the prologue.
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
I spent the last half of this week editing the prologue and... well, I'm not even sure "editing" is the right word anymore, "overhauling" seems much more appropriate. I haven't changed the plotline at all, and if someone asked you to summarise it you probably wouldn't change a word, and yet the new version barely resembles the original! I've added so many details, improved so much wording, and tweaked so many details that the two versions are vastly different.
Some of the things I added/changed really made surprisingly big improvements! For example, Tiama now hits a wall after getting pushed rather than just simply feeling herself being moved. With that, we now have a spacial reference other than the floor and a better grasp of the scene, it makes it so much easier to imagine!
Original: New:
"... A new feeling started, like a feeling inside of me that I could not quite understand. My place was being changed, I’m being moved, I soon realised.
I don’t want to be moved!
A lot of unknowns were passing through me at that point. What..."
"... A new feeling started, a feeling I could not understand. It did not directly cause pain, but it was doing something.
I soon realised that my place was being changed; I was being moved.

Despite my protest, I was still moved against my will – quite strongly at that. I was shoved backwards strongly and felt myself tumble away powerlessly. My fall was denied a gentle end as a flat surface slammed into my back and pushed something out of me. The surface scraped my back as I slid down to the floor.
A lot of unknowns were going through me at that point. What..."
As you can see, massive improvements are being made.
I've left my overhauled prologue at the below for you guys to take as a sample, but I only intend to release edits in batches that encompass full arcs since I foresee a lot of chapter splitting, splicing and even a little reordering.
