Months quickly passed as he absorbed as much information as he possibly could, and when he heard the familiar muffled grunts and cries, he actively sent out a harmless kick.
His body was fully developed by now, and he knew that the time for him to get out of the womb would come soon. His only way of communicating with the outside world was through kicks.
Two weeks later, he finally took his first gulp of air before crying out loud.
The old woman who was grabbing his legs smiled as she gently cradled the baby before slowly walking out of the room. Outside, there was a well-built man who wore a tiger skin skirt to cover his privates and had some blood splattered on his chiseled upper body and face.
He looked at the baby in front of him and smiled. "My eldest..." he said, his eyes drifting to his baby's private parts, "...son. From this day onwards, you will be called Xiaohu."
He continued to stare at his son lovingly for a few more seconds before looking up at the woman and nodding. "Take him back. I'll have to go back to the battlefield, so tell Sofia that I'm sorry for not being there."
"As you wish, chief," the woman said and took the baby inside, smiling at the beautiful woman who was lying on the bed. "My lady, the chief has decided to call him Xiaohu."
She then carefully handed the baby to his mother and left the room after taking care of the necessities. Once she was alone with her child, the woman lovingly looked down at him. "Xiaohu... so now you're my cute little tiger, hehe."
Slowly, days, weeks, months, and years passed as the infant grew up to be a cute and tiny kid. While he was with his parents, he would act cute and loving. When faced with new people, he would act shy and hide behind his mother or father.
But when he was alone, the look on his face would be replaced by a calculative gaze as he tried to use the information he had gathered from his tribe to find out where the human emperor was reborn.
"Bah, this is not going well. I damaged his soul, so maybe there are other things I should be considering instead of just trying to look for someone who behaves like the human emperor," he muttered as he leaned against the wall.
His parents were both outside at the moment as they had plans to make allies with a new tribe that had moved into their location.

"I have no choice," he said, the tone of his voice showing how determined he was as he stood up and walked towards the pile of folded clothes that were his. After wearing the pair that he liked, a shirt made of cotton and a loincloth, he covered it by tying a boar skin around his waist.
Once he was done, he walked towards the mirror and looked at himself. He was around a meter in height and was pretty lean. He was only five years old at the moment, so he looked like an adorable kid with black hair and brown eyes.
There wasn't anything special; he had simply inherited his parents' genes. He silently walked over to the bedroom and casually opened the wooden chest that was under the bed.
Inside, there were multiple silver and bronze coins, all of which were his. Since he was the tribe chief's son, he had gotten multiple gifts for each of his birthdays from the allied tribes and relatives.
He looked at the money that easily surpassed the annual income of a warrior's family and smiled before picking up an empty leather pouch. He filled it with a few coins and put the wooden chest back where it was before heading out.
As he walked, he saw the familiar scene of wooden houses and mud huts. There were women doing their chores outside and kids running around merrily. A few older men sat together under a large tree that was left to grow by their tribe.
Xiaohu knew that they were just gossiping about random stuff and talking about life. His tribe was in a relatively safe area, unlike others, as it was the leader tribe that had multiple tribes under it.
If one counted all tribes as one, then it would be no less than a kingdom. Trades were booming, and there wasn't any problem with food, which meant peaceful times in a place where wars were common.
He walked into a wooden hut and looked at the middle-aged man who was busy smoking a dried-up hallucinogenic leaf.
"Uncle Booch, I want to buy some bones from you. If you have any left, I'll take them."
Booch looked at Xiaohu and put down his smoking contraption that looked similar to a hookah or a water pipe back on Earth. He stood up from his wooden chair and gave him a short but respectful bow.
"People don't really buy bones from me nowadays, so I'll be pleased to sell them to you. Would you like to buy them now, or do you want me to bring them to you in the evening when I close my shop?"
"Evening will be fine. Thank you, Uncle!" Xiaohu said, his voice showing both respect and politeness.
Booch saw the kid leave and went back to smoking as he was a retired man. He planned on going to his shop a few hours before sunset to ask his son to bring the bones back home.
Xiaohu went back to his house, the only one that was made out of stone and mortar. He sat on his bed and closed his eyes before finding himself in a peaceful grassy hill.

He took a deep breath and smiled. "The concentration of spiritual energy is ten times higher than back at home."
He looked at the large pit that he had dug four years ago and saw some bones in it. He had been doing his best to collect bones and store them here, but since he was too young, he always had someone watching over him.
