Xiaohu sighed as he sat down cross-legged. "If it was me in my previous lives, I would never have cultivated before the age of fifteen. But now that I know how the entire system works, I can use a loophole."
With a deep breath, he closed his eyes and began to mutter, "Oh great heavens, please use me as a medium to send spiritual energy to Mother Xingyue."
Based on the information he had bought five years ago, before his rebirth, the name of the planet was Xingyue, and the relation between the planet and the heavens was similar to a husband and a wife.
That was the simplest explanation, but there were a few more intricacies to the concept. For now, there was no need for him to think about those as they wouldn't change the results of his actions.
He continued to breathe in an orderly fashion, and a few seconds later, he felt a familiar energy seep into his body. It was the spiritual energy, more commonly called "qi."
From what he had seen in his past eight lives, he could tell that every single cultivator believed in the concept of going against the heavens to reach immortality. This included himself, but after gaining knowledge, he felt like his whole world had turned upside down.
The heavens actually helped people advance through stages hundreds of thousands of years ago. But after a specific destructive event, every single human turned against the heavens.
Every single cultivation method that was created was based on the concept of going against the heavens and stealing its energy to strengthen the practitioner. This actively rejected the assistance from nature, the heavens, in helping people cultivate faster.
Xiaohu had hundreds of cultivation methods, but none of them were of use to him at the moment.
Spiritual energy seeped in and nourished his body while he actively kept the qi from being absorbed by his spiritual root. In a mere hour, he felt like his entire body was filled with energy.
This was a temporary feeling as a human body could not hold spiritual energy unless a person had a special type of body. The only way he could store the spiritual energy permanently was by storing it in his spiritual root.
With his body now filled with qi, he picked up the bones that were in the pit and sent the qi into them one by one. As he continued to send qi out, he felt his body being filled up to the brim with qi.

Time slowly passed, and the bones slowly began to change shape. Like clay, they began to clump together, and almost six hours later, Xiaohu opened his eyes and looked at a small rectangular plate.
It was white in color and had the dimensions of 4 cm x 10 cm x 3 mm. There were ten dots on both sides of the plate.
He put it in his pocket and picked up the rest of the bones before frowning. "I'll need more... I guess I'll have to wait till evening."
After he was done, he left the place and found himself in his room. He looked out from the window and could tell that it would soon be evening as the sun was about to set soon. The sky wasn't orange or red yet.
Seeing that he still had some time left, he took out the rectangular plate made from bone and looked at it.
It was a simple device that could show a person's talents. One side showed the grade of the spiritual root, and the other showed the grade of the spirit bone. With the device in hand, he walked out of his house and joined the kids who were playing nearby.
The kids were a little wary when it came to him as he was the child of the tribe's chief, but it didn't take them long to warm up to him. By the time it was evening, Xiaohu walked back to his house while panting.
He had been running around a lot for the past two hours, and even with a growing child's body, he did not have enough energy to stay active.
"I should have eaten some lunch..." he muttered as he stopped in front of the door and looked at the familiar face of Booch.
The guy walked towards Xiaohu along with his son and placed two large gunny bags in front of the wall. Two more were placed beside them by his son while Xiaohu watched them silently.
"How much, Uncle Booch?"
"Eh... just give me however much you want to, hahaha," he said, laughing as he ruffled Xiaohu's hair.
Xiaohu looked at his son instead. "Uncle, what's the market price for the bones?"
"Uh..." the guy said and glanced at his father before sighing. "Well, compared to meat, bones are pretty cheap, so we sell them for around five bronze coins per bag. That's the wholesale price, but if they wish to buy in smaller quantities, the price goes up for the same amount."
Xiaohu nodded and took out two silver coins from his pocket before cutely holding them up, waiting for one of the two men to take his money.
Booch took the coins with a smile and grabbed the small leaf basket that his son was holding. He gave it to Xiaohu and ruffled his hair once more. "Kid, keep this meat or give it to your neighbors and share it with them."
Before he could respond, the father and son duo were off. He stared at the basket in his hand and then looked at the large gunny bags before sighing.
'At least put those inside my house...' he thought as he walked inside and went straight to the fireplace before using a fire stone to get the fire going.
"Sharing meat? Not when I'm this hungry," he said out loud as he placed a pot on top of it before pouring in some water and then some washed rice. He seasoned it with some salt and some spices before cutting the meat into decent sizes.
After tossing the meat into the boiling pot, he took out the spiritual root checker. The kids he had played with today had no talent for cultivation, which meant that he would have to search for others tomorrow.
"There's enough time for me to prepare. Once it gets dark and everyone goes to sleep, I'll send those bags of bones into my soul realm."
