Vedavalli and the Prince
Let the Pawn Move

Let the Pawn Move

Keshav walked up to the end of the street before turning into an alley.

"What did she say?" asked a voice urgently.

"She is afraid. I will make her give up the truth," he told the veiled woman standing opposite him.

"And bury this." she lowered her voice abruptly handing over a small package wrapped in silk.

Keshav turned to both sides looking for any eavesdroppers before taking it from her hand.

"no one should know what happened to Prince Rajesh."

Keshav nodded gravely, tucking the package inside his coat. He had been tasked with finding out the truth about Prince Mukund's disappearance and sudden death, and it seemed like he was getting closer to the answers he sought.

The veiled woman quickly disappeared into the shadows. Keshav watched her go before turning back towards the street. He couldn't afford to be seen with her; her reputation alone could ruin his. He was a private investigator, and his job was to find out the truth, no matter how ugly it might be.

Once he reached his office, Keshav closed the door behind him and took out the package. It was small and light, but he could feel something solid inside. He carefully unwrapped the silk and gasped when he saw what was inside.

It was a ring, a beautiful diamond ring, with the royal seal of Anga on the inside.

When the mysterious woman first approached him with a huge sum for any info on Avanti, he decided to start by looking into Prince Mukund, the man who had been blamed for Prince Rajesh's death.

Keshav spent the next few days gathering information about Prince Mukund. He learned that the prince had indeed been on the run, trying to clear his name. But unfortunately, he had been caught and killed in a supposed encounter with royal security. Keshav suspected foul play, and he was determined to find out who was behind it.
